    It works pretty well! I never even really thought of stripping the paint from lexan bodies. Thanks for this video!

      Yeah it's magical stuff! Still a slow process but good results. 👍

    That poor sticker bombed Brat! The stripper works a treat on Hardbodies. The Lexan definitely took a little work - but you still got results.
    I've never used it before, but did learn from experience in the 1990's, Nitro Fuel works too well on Lexan Paint!!
    Looks like the key to the Tamiya Paint Stripper is, let it soak. Good info, thanks!

      Yeah it does work quite will on hard bodies, although it isn't meant for ABS. It can leave the surface a little rough but it's no problem if you sand and prime. Nitro fuel also works but I never run nitros these days so I never have any handy. So far my best method for Lexan is Methoxypropanol, just soak it for a while and wipe the paint off. 👍

    Bolink has something called body wash. Works great work quickly to. Stripped 2 bodies 1 nitro truggy and a nitro drift car. 1 was red , car other red white and blue. After removing paint washed in dawn dish soap. Then finished rest with wash and q-tips.

    I've used brake fluid before just make sure you clean it off good as you do it with no damage

    I used this on an Optima Mid body and it works pretty well, only problem is the body is foggy now.

    • @RCHobbyShed
      @RCHobbyShed  5 років тому +1

      You didn't happen to rinse it with water, did you? I noticed if you use water on it, you'll get instant fog. I think I will do an update video on this problem. I think they key is to wash it with the Tamiya Body Cleaner afterwards. The fog can be taken off with very fine steel wool or very fine scouring pad, but it's a lot of work.

    • @keithrx3c
      @keithrx3c 5 років тому +2

      @@RCHobbyShed No water, haven't tried anything to clear it up yet.

    • @RCHobbyShed
      @RCHobbyShed  5 років тому +1

      @@keithrx3c Hopefully it comes up ok for you! The Optima body I was stripping was melted from the resistor and had splits that only got worse by me handling it, so I binned it in the end. I did notice the fog marks scratch off with my finger nail, so it seems to only be on the surface. I will give another body a go and do a video on the results. Let me know how you go with yours. 👍

    Does it works with Tamiya TS paint (spray can) and Tamiya Primer paint?

  • @alfredyost7972
    @alfredyost7972 4 роки тому +1

    Tamiya makes a "Polycarbonate Body Cleaner". I do not know how well it works. I have also heard that brake fluid might work too. However, you need to test it before trying to applying it. Why, test it? The polycarbonate body might fog up and plastic bodies could melt.

    • @RCHobbyShed
      @RCHobbyShed  4 роки тому

      I have used the Tamiya Polycarbonate Body Cleaner, it works well but not as good for large areas as the Tamiya Paint Remover. Tamiya Body Cleaner is really good for body cleaning before painting and removing paint bleeds or overspray on newly painted bodies, I always like to have both products on hand. Brake fluid does work well too but like you said, it can melt hard bodies and fog Polycarb' bodies. I've found Methoxypropanol works very well, also nitro fuel work great too. 👍

      Maybe, I haven't tried it. I'm planning to try a few things and put more videos out with the results. I know nitro fuel also works but haven't done a video on it. I have a video on using Methoxy Propanol which works well too, Dot4 brake fluid is another one. 👍
