This is just too cool! I find it fascinating to see this tool working. I'm curious about the tip of the flaker is that aluminum or steel? This is definitely very useful for flaking sawed slabs! Have you tried this on any flint or chert? This would be great to use to make an Egyptian Gertzian knife blade with. Thanks so much for sharing this technique! I've been watching your caveman foldable swiss knives, those are COOL! definitely on my 'to do'list ;-) As far as I know the metal tip of the flaker is made of 'galvanised steel', I think those 'screws' are used for e.g. hanging paintings on wooden walls, I buy them at our DIY shops for a few dimes a piece. So far I've only used this flaker on glass and obsidian slabs. Glad you enjoyed the vid!
Seem to be getting large scallop shaped chards in the device I constructed. Is this do to the angle of attack? Couldn't find hook screw so used concrete nail head. Mine needs a number of adjustments. Please advise. Thanks
