Watched every second. Great work Jake! You have a great gift of being able to teach. This old man listens!

Nice Clovis. There is an easy surefire way to flute a Clovis that prevents breakage: Beautiful work & material by the way! Take a branch the same width as the Clovis, split it in half, grind each half flat on the sidewalk, wrap the tip of the point in a 1/2 inch strip of buckskin twice around. Place the point flat between the slats and wrap tightly with a cord while fluting. Pitch glue 4 small pencil eraser size wood spacers between the point and the rest on either side of the flute flake platform. Long flutes, long points. Many future Successes. I use an antler billet to remove the flute.

Great job on the quartzite brother! Had to laugh at 5 minutes in when you said, "Maybe you get the point," lol. Yeah, educational and fun!

Nice work, looks like it could be a rough material to master. Its obvious you got a grasp on it. Looking forward to the next one

I do too, it can be awful to work at first, but the more you work it the easier it becomes

I honestly would never recommend obsidian to beginners, it’s too finicky and stupidly sharp, it’s more of a intermediate or advanced material for knappers in general.

Every stone has its pros and cons. But I agree in general. I will say one upside to working obsidian is realizing really quickly you need to a braid😂
