She works in health care, so she should know she's both. Having said that, she still had a right to be served. Ill fitting outfit and all.
I would agree w u because if I’m treated poorly at a business I leave & don’t come back. However, this woman has been there before in the same outfit and looking at the waitress in her crop top & shorts, the only difference is the size of the women which shouldn’t matter. Obviously the hostess didn’t see anything shocking about her appearance & picked up the menus. I bet if Kim Kardashian went in there with the same outfit, she would be given the star treatment & not asked to put on a jacket.
If you are such a leader, be a leader. You should have some modesty and know how to make a proper selection to accommodate your size. You are a beautiful person. Yet, you must have enough respect for yourself to be less revealing when it comes to your attire.
My friend and I have had the pleasure of dining at Stab’s on multiple occasions. That manager consistently approaches our table to engage in conversation. We are African American women. Unfortunately, we have noticed a pattern of inappropriate attire among some of the diners while dining. It is important to remember that each establishment has its own rules and expectations.
The easiest thing to do is to post a sign say we reserve the right to refuse sitting for........ and point to the sign. When you have a posted policy, it stops a lot of misunderstanding.
That is just what I waas going to say. So many restaurants have had that sign over the years =- "We reserve the right to refuse service to people who..." etc etc. Hell if I owned the restaurant and she showed up like that I might ask her to leave to! Vice president of NAACP chapter and you’re dressed like that in public??? Looks like you’re wearing a swimsuit top. Outfit is entirely inappropriate, especially for a classy restaurant. It would've took me two seconds to turn around and go someplace else. This is not newsworthy at all. If they want to lose money because they feel your outfit is inappropriate for their establishment? LET THEM! Smh.
It’s their prerogative. They own the restaurant. Express your complaint on a Google review not the evening news. Yelling racism all the time is like yelling fire 🔥 when there is none. Who you know or who you are is totally irrelevant. Grow up.
@@deborahbarksdale826I guess your price is white and right
Very true 😂
@@deborahbarksdale826 People don't even pay attention to the word Racism anymore it's used too much.😮
Restaurants can enforce a dress code. It’s a private establishment.
As a VP of the NAACP in Baton Rouge this isn't acceptable clothing for the outdoors, esp for a woman with a big bust(I'm keeping real here).
Women of certain sizes like slim or average size or smaller busts can get away with it, but a large frame up top this isn't working.
As a professional woman in the corporate world she should have put a jacket over her outfit upon enterinq the restaurant, there's air conditioning in there I assume.
So her excuse that it's hot in Louisiana in the summer is invalid, its not like this was an outdoors sidewalk cafe or something..
4:16 oh no, VP of the NAACP where we know everything is racist in her world. This is the same woman who just said she doesn’t consider herself fat at 200+ lbs. I give up.
Stap!!! 😂
@@ArcoirisDeZebulonFor this video she’s dressed appropriately. Why didn’t she wear the same “2 piece dress” to appear on TV? Will she wear a 2 piece midriff dress to her NAACP conventions? She implied that the restaurant was UPSCALE

You need to listen to the video again she said she know she is a big woman.I am a 32 year old black woman and yes she definitely need to cover up more I don't feel this is discrimination too much of her cleavage is showing have more class when going to an upscale steakhouse
that part for me, I"m overweight like her. When she said that I was like nahhhh there is no hope for this lady.
Its not flattering at all.

Why would you require a public apology? No one would know if you didn’t blast it.
Your breast are half out, this is a decency thing, not a racist ,I never let my daughter dress like that, and yes she was heavy breasted too.but she was always respectful.
A public apology??? Please, no one wants to see all that upper body flesh exposed at a fine dining establishment. In a fine dining establishment, class is required. Can't teach class, either you have it or you don't. Good grief. Drama, drama, drama.
fine dining the server had on a skirt and fishnets

Maybe…the girls working are probably all slim and she can’t stand it.
Exactly. Tired of this offended by everything, ashamed of nothing mentality.
I can hear her revving herself up in preperation like "Let 'em tell me I cain't wear what I wanta wear!"
I noticed she only posted the one still of her in her outfit, not video of the 'FULL' effect of her lumbering and jiggling around the establishment in that sack.
Sad. Unfortunately, Black people face this everyday. Instead of using a biased brain, consider her feelings. Maybe offer her a shawl?
Check your racism.
What’s the problem, comply or leave. That’s her place. PLEASE, I’m black and don’t agree with you.
You don't get to cry discrimination when your behavior is called out! The rest of us don't!
Yet the waitress was wearing extremely short black shorts, you hypocrite.
All businesses have a right to refuse service, as long as it's not based on discrimination. This business should have the dress code in a visible location where everyone can see it.
Also, imo, the waitresses uniforms are tacky and very unattractive.
What has that got to with this
This business basically practiced discrimination
RACISM & BIGOTRY in this restaurant
Look what are they going to write on there if you look trashy turn around and go home?
It’s ridiculous that someone who represents an entire organization of people goes out to represent them looking so trashy. But of course if you’ve seen the BET awards, I guess it makes a lot of sense. This is all anyone pushes on Black people. You have to look trashy. No one will pay attention to anything you say. 😢
@Chris-tb8ys how is a dress code racist?
That sounds seriously degrading to me.
A lot of upscale restaurants have dress codes.
Improper decor. She should have seen that herself. In fact, she should not wear that in the public at any time.
Businesses have the right to refuse service to customers. People need to have more pride in their appearance!
The owner said you were dressed inappropriately and gave you two options. Then you decided to be combative.
So
Only Black women are called combative. But if you're saying she should've left the establishment then I agree.
I mean... the combativeness is going to come out.
THEIR CULTURE!
@@RahYisrael99 I agree with you that Black women are usually called combative when they argue. I also agree with you that she should have left the building. It's a private business on private land they can tell you to leave at anytime.😂
Your at an expensive Steakhouse, of course they don't want someone eating there with their breast and stomach hanging out for all to see, 😒. If you are going to a Cook Out, club, beach or a bar then you won't have any problems, but a Steakhouse? Heck no. This is nothing new, 🙄. This is basic common sense.
That wasn’t a flattering outfit. The two piece outfits consisting of a bra and a bottom are not appropriate for eating establishments. Wear that to the park .
You a. Jealous. Bigots
I disagree....she looks lovely
It also is not a bra ....this is the south and it's hot 🔥
@ccd5942
You totally missed the point. She was dressed appropriately, you can't see cleavage or nipples or even her full stomach. If they have a dress code and stand by it, they must display it. I'm sorry, but you don't see employees wearing short shorts or short skirts with bare legs n tattoos in an "upscale" restaurant.
@crosstudio nah Houston restaurants have dress codes!!!
What about Modesty?

@@1indefinitetruth No. She needs to dine somewhere else. Do you allow your kids to come to the table with their privates and hang out?
If the restaurant was on the beach that would be an appropriate outfit, but not anywhere else. She said she had worn that same outfit there before, I don't believe her. It has nothing to do with race, its maybe just trying to show some class, that's all. I've seen woman of all races wear inappropriate clothing in restaurants and other places because they love the attention they get.
Winner winner chicken dinner! YES
If it's your policy put it on the door, the wall, the website, make sure every staff member knows it, and also have your waitresses follow it as well. I have worked at places with unique rules, but they were posted everywhere, everyone knew them, they were enforced on everyone, and they were enforced 100% of the time.
How about wamen stop dressing like a slut?
Yes, I think consistent and fair rules could avoid these type of discrimination cases.
It is on the website
@@trulife777what does it say ? She is not dressed inappropriately
Some things are just common sense. Companies shouldn't have to post rules and policies all over the place. What ever happen to modesty?
Let me understand this she been in there multiple times but this time its discrimination. Certain things are subjective her top could been mistaken as a swim top, it was giving bra. Had she returned with a cover up of some sort and still was denied service then I would understand her discrimination claim.
finally common sense enters into the chat.
I don't want to make any assumptions, so I'll just ask...are you white? If you are not, I apologize for the insult.
Since no one asked for your opinion really, it's totally of that you don't "get it". The servers outfits clearly don't match their "dress code". The manager most likely wasn't there the several times she visited the restaurant before, hence discrimination this time!
Crawl back under your trailerpark.
She might not have encountered this employee before
I agree with that woman. for your job title you shouldn't be dressing like that💯
Someone commented it is a sundress. That is a 2-piece, and it does not look as if she is wearing a bra. As a DD gal myself, I don’t even take out the trash without a bra on. The material is filmy and clingy; bathing suit material would be less revealing.
This was not racial discrimination. The steakhouse has an established attire policy.
She's dressed inappropriate for my house
That's why I hate the warm weather because the way women dress this time of year is ridiculous!

😂Right?!
I think a slender woman with small arms/ boobs could've worn that dress in resturant. Staff gave her a shout out because she's a big woman and she had a whole lotta flesh showing. 😅
Right. I know you're disgusted by men wearing shorts, belly bearing"wife beater" T-shirts or no shirts at all, right? Why should women be held to certain non-funtional/climate-related, standards that were pushed on their grandmothers simply because of their gender?
Every year the first women in shorts I see don't really have the legs for it at all.
The dress looks horrible on her.
