I am so proud of you my Sunshine. Really enjoyed your QA. So looking forward to next year when we will be with you again in that amazing seaside town, Dungarvan. Can't wait to be there. Ireland really grows on one. ❤🇮🇪🇿🇦
Well done to ye for making the move a success. I went to England in 1970 with little or nothing in my pocket but at 20yrs of age optimism won through. I returned to Ireland in 1993 again with little money but with the same optimism and things have worked out ok. Best of luck going forward.
Its so interesting to see an outside perspective of moving to Ireland, especially from such a different and much hotter country like South Africa. I moved here from U.K ( Irish Parents) so it wasnt such a culture shock. I love to see peole like yourself and family prosper here. I personally love it here but am a little biased. Good Luck love the Vlogs. Ps we ( our family) almost emigrated im the 70s to either South Africa, Australia or Canada either way we stayed put in UK and have no regrets.
Hello Bronwyn, I’m a new subscriber I enjoy your channel. Born in UK but lived in South Africa for 38 years, Eastleigh, Edenvale, East Rand. Miss having a braaivleis.
Hello! Thanks for answering to all my questions. Definitely still considering to move to Ireland. The way you highly speak of Ireland makes us want to move and call it our home as well. Im glad you guys are all safe and happy 😊. Hypocrites will always talk...just ignore them..Greetings from Cyprus (neighbour from Zimbabwe)
Hi, my dear. You don't need to explain anything. We understand why you and your family moved to Ireland. We also from South-Africa. Don't let people upset you. We love your videos. It's so nice to hear from you. People can be so nasty and leave bad footprints behind. Just ignore any nasty comments. You and your husband did the right thing to emigrate. Build a new save life and move on. Thanks for a nice video. Greatings from Melinda 🎉
Hello fellow PMB gal! We're now Limerick based. Been following you since before we moved. Great channel🎉 I miss animals, and you 100% did the right thing. There are also so few rentals that accept animals, married couples or families with babies 😅
Hello there! Don't you find that driving around Ireland reminds you of Hilton sometimes. I always get that Natal midlands feel when it's misty and rainy. Thank you so much for the comment! Hope you're settling into your new home xxx
Hello beautiful family! Missed your videos!❤🎉 So glad to see your beautiful smile again Bron!❤ Thank you so much for sharing your journey with us. You guys are so brave! I've been extensively researching Dungarvan and it looks like we may be joining you guys soon! We must meet up when we get to Ireland ❤😊
That's very exciting! Would love to meet up. All the best with all your plans! There's a good few South Africans in and around Dungarvan so we'll have to have a lekker braai and kuier once you're settled xxx
You haven't mentioned rugby on your blog yet as far I can tell. Are you guys fans of the sport? Especially now that southern hemisphere clubs are playing in the URC.
You are right... I haven't shared much about rugby... no excuse really! I watched the World Cup Final in a local pub here in town where we were clearly outnumbered by the NZ supporters but we screamed the loudest!! Will have to start bringing in that side of things for the boys!!
Really? I have noticed that when I'm at work I do say things differently to how I would say it at home... I suppose it's inevitable! Not a bad thing I hope ;-)
Not the first time you've asked, and every time I open google maps and start planning a trip!! I think it will have to be our destination of choice early in the new year!!
Bronwyn Love your channel. Hope this question don’t sound offensive Have you found any reaction to your family as migrants due to the recent kick back against migration into Ireland, and I am not talking about migrants fleeing war etc I am speaking about economic migrants of which I and my family would fit when we were economic migrants to Australia in the late eighties when the Irish government abandoned a huge number of its population economically You and your family sound like the sort of people that would be an asset to any country and I wish your family ☘ every luck in the future
Thank you so much for your lovely comment. Personally we haven't experienced any negative reactions as immigrants. I can't speak for others and I'm sure there are others who have had unfortunate experiences. But personally we have felt nothing but welcomed and accepted.
🌍✈ Hi I've been deeply inspired by your videos about moving from South Africa to Ireland I made a similar move 20 years ago. Could you please sometime share , Behind the Smile: The untold emotional rollercoaster - stress, anxiety, and the pressure to appear successful and happy to those back home. Family Dynamics: How such a move impacts relationships within the family that moves and with those left behind. It's a rarely discussed topic but so crucial. The Left Behind: The perspective of family members ( Oupa's & Ouma's ) in South Africa who stay behind. Their experiences, feelings, and how they maintain bonds over such distances. Your ability to connect and tell stories is powerful, and shedding light on these aspects can help so many others in similar situations. Keep up the fantastic work!
Wow! Fantastic ideas for videos! Thanks so much for that! I will most definitely put a lot of thought into that and look into those. Those are tough topics but important to address. Thanks again!
I think your decision to moderate comments removing rascist ones or very political ones is understandable as much of that can really alter the delightful and pleasant nature of your channel and lots of other channels specialise in that and many come to content like yours to escape it.
What it costs to move from EU member to Ireland? Lots. Just like it would cost a lot to move to any other country, including Ireland. You summed it up so well: do your homework online for circumstances specific to you but then add a little to what you thought. Then come, as you may enjoy what you find.
I like your videos Bronwen. You can see the improvements you've made in content and quality over time ... most valuable thing = your authenticity
Thank you for your kind comment
Local guy here. I think I came across your husband in a local hardware store. He was such a nice guy and good at his job. I wish you all the best.

This a very Irish thing to say did you know that Kate Bush (singer musician) mother hails from Dungarven
I didn't know that and I love Kate's music. Now that's a very interesting nugget of knowledge to have!
Having been there for a few years, do you have any (legal or migration) agencies you can recommend for persons wanting to migrate to Ireland?
We didn't use an agency so I'm not sure who to suggest to be honest as I wouldn't have personal experience. What passports do you have?
I think your decision to moderate comments removing rascist ones or very political ones is understandable as much of that can really alter the delightful and pleasant nature of your channel and lots of other channels specialise in that and many come to content like yours to escape it.
It has made the channel a more peaceful, happy place 😊

So true... a journey always starts with that first step! (literally)
did not realise you were from pmb
Indeed, good ol Sleepy hollow!
