Here to tell you, it is so lovely to just look iver your shoulder into that magazine and looking through it with you. You took your time and your comments were making me feel like it is a nostalgic girl hang out 🩷
This was fun! I got the Barbie magazine a few years for Christmas. It was fun as a kid to get your own magazine in the mail. I do have that dinner date fashion but it’s in blue. I agree about what you said about it, but it’s still cute.
Glad you enjoyed it! I was putting myself in the shoes of a child, well knowing it’s what I would’ve done. I can imagine children had hours of fun with this alone. To read and look at the pretty Barbie’s and learn about her family and history!
I do as well. Especially if they come with fashions! Thats so much fun. I recall Barbie bazaar. What a great source of doll history, restoration, tips and tricks, and identification, and of course news. We have social media now, but Barbie isn’t interested in that now
Subscribed. You are my new favorite doll collector channel. I actually had this Barbie magazine. I had a subscription through publishers clearing house lol we entered the sweepstakes by ordering magazine subscriptions so I was a kid in the 1980s 1990s and asked if we could get a Barbie magazine subscription but great memories mine didn’t come with a Barbie outfit I remember looking through these magazines growing up great memories 😃
Oh thank you! Thank you for being here also:) WOW so you actually remember this magazine first hand. That must be a cool memory! I remember always passing the time at Walmart reading the Barbie bazars, and anything with a dolls picture on it! We never did get a magazine with Barbie unfortunately. Probably because my mom knew it would just be something she would’ve had to throw away later lol I wish Mattel was still doing the subscription service when I was little, because that would’ve been so cool to experience!
Yes those were different times. Growing up as a kid in the 80s and 90s was so different than today. We didn’t have the internet so magazines were really the only way to know about anything aside from television or the library. I remember being a kid in the 1980s and going to Kaybee toys, Kmart and Toys R Us those were my favorite stores. I vividly remember Kaybee toys had the so many new at the time 1980s Barbie’s and Barbie clothes and Barbie items I remember the aisles full of Barbies 1980s stuff it was so amazing. I’ve gone to the Barbie and dolls aisles in stores today and I can honestly say it doesn’t compare to back in the day but I think it’s because all kinds of kids toys were very popular back then there were so many aisles full of toys. But I’m enjoying the nostalgia from other generations and the appreciation they have for dolls from all different generations 😃
Her hair looks fantastic! Great job! LOL I know you are showing the outfit and I do like it a lot but when I saw her hair I thought Wow - really looks good! :)
Fun fact, on the hair style page, the pic of the man with the cowboy style hat, he was the one who invented Farrah's hair style and did her hair for her.I was there back in the day too.
Hello!!!!! I grew up idolizing Olivia Newton John!! 💜🩵 I saw her in GREASE when I was 9 and then I fell in love with singing. Many people have told me through the years that I sound just like her.😊 We actually share the same birthday Sept 26. Olivia was around 10 when Barbie was introduced so it makes sense that she played with her. ✨✨✨✨✨✨😊
Oh wow! You must have a lovely voice. I went through an Olivia phase too, around Covid. I had never heard her music other than on grease. Which was a childhood favorite movie. And it was because of her. As I had no idea what that movie was about lol Now I have a better idea and I’m shocked I was allowed to watch it. I remember wanting the bad girl sandy doll when she was at Walmart when I was a kid. I just got her actually before Olivia passed away. Which I was sad about, but knew she was battling cancer. So I was braced for it already. Olivia was a lovely and special person and her memory will always be remembered!
Hey, thanks so much for the shout-out! I really appreciate it. 😘 I love your channel too! And as a matter of fact, I also have this very same magazine and love it, so thanks for doing a video on it. I think my friend Dean Reen gave it to me, whom you also mentioned. My one unfortunately didn't come with the fashion, but I always wondered what that sticky bit on the cover held, so thanks for solving that mystery for me! LOL ... Looking forward to more videos!!!
Whaaat I’ve been loving your channel for the longest!!! I’ve mentioned you in a few videos, and i mention Dean all the time it seems lol I love hearing you talking about your fashion background. Because some of these 80s fashions seem a bit ridiculous until you talk about them and I’m sold instantly. And it makes me more interested in the fashion of the era. So I will continue to shout you out, so everyone can be inspired. Same as Dean. His videos are also so enjoyable! Thank you for being here!:)
@@disneybarbiegirl615: Oh that is SO cool that you get something out of my videos! Thanks so much for the shout outs... That means a lot. Really enjoying your videos, too!
This is great!❤

That’s so cool! It’s how I felt to get a toys r us catalogue. I’m too young for the Sears one, and I hear it was quite the treat!!
I'm really loving these reviews! Especially for the vintage items as I'm not all too interested in modern Barbie. ❤
I have to agree with you there! I appreciate you for being here!
Great video! I appreciate that you go through the unboxing similar to how a child would’ve done it back then.

OMG I got that same magazine and dress!
Did you love it?
@@disneybarbiegirl615 yep except I ripped the cover trying to remove that dress. Ugh.
I thought it was but there was alot of stuff recycled in the 80s and 90s it could have been reused iam not sure
“Where a kid got stabbed” 😭
Literally lol
I have the dinner date fashion with the white dress and mine has a little silver flower thing on it I have never been able to identify it
Oh really??:0 I’ve never seen it with that variation! Think it could’ve been added later?
I always thought the superstar face was based on Olivia Newton-John and Farrah Faucett
Very likely, they were so popular when she was sculpted!
