For y'all who say he's choking the bull, he isnt. It's the same with a dog in training. Want the dog to heel, you pull the leash just to the crease where the head meets the neck. It doesn't harm them at all. This is not abuse. It's work. Notice where the rope is before you bash this cowboy for doing what he's done ALL HIS LIFE...you people have NO RIGHT to tell him how to do his job. He knows what he's doing. He ain't dumb. Back off. Yes it's probably a two horse job but he may not have a second horse on stand by right now. They could have been getting shoed or had colic. You weren't there
He's saying choke down. He's saying he's choking. People do this with bulls to make them a bit weaker. I would've waited and gotten him in a pen with food to get him in a trailer. But he didn't have his buddies
You see how them boys are dressed? See how it took the man to get his grandsons outta the house to help him? The boys supposed to have that bull ready to load by 4am. All you guys whinning saying that this is abuse, I dare you guys to get out on a horse and go separate a bull from a herd of cattle heck lets make it easier go sperate a cow from a herd see how well them cattle cooperate with yall and how easy it is to do that. You guys are complaining about something you have absolutely no knowledge about grow up and get educated about stuff before you go off on someone
The cowboy is smarter and very experienced so there is less risk than a less experienced person trying to do something that they saw done on UA-cam. Doing a "Hold my beer (and watch me)" versus handling multiple animals that are around a ton in weight each, are 2 totally different things. Even roping something that is only a couple hundred pounds can end badly. I'm not going to mention my cousin who is missing a thumb from accidentally dallying(sp?) it in his rope because that makes him sound dumb, inexperienced, or both. But different circumstances changed the tempo and seriousness to the point where even a good cowboy can make mistakes. Mixing large, strong, and unpredictable animals with inexperience can take a life pretty quickly but being confident with your abilities, your horse, and your kid or neighbors reduces that risk to one where you can be home in time for supper every night. Also, you may have seen the boys from the Jackass movies and TV shows messing around with large animals but you didn't see the professionals staying behind the cameras and telling the guys what they were safe doing or not so DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME or anywhere else until you are experienced enough to do so!
It seems you need real help. Good job for training and taking time to explain. Possibly show the take down or loading of the bull as well and teach a few tips to cover the basics. #(ck) common knowledge
Also, if you can get a rope on his leg, runs round him a few times in circles and you can pull the rope to pull him down but ok fairly sure you already knew that partner
