    This video made me cry. I don't know why. If they were happy tears, then it's because this is such a beautiful sight, the way the horses trust the man and you see how man and nature connect in this simple way, in the middle of "nowhere" (ironically our idea of "nowhere" is where everything happens). If they were sad tears, then it's because of my personal yearning for a freedom like those horses, where we just run in a pack, in a group, as a family. One big family, nature and me.

    I've met wild horses one time in my life. Being a person who doesn't have much experience with horses, I tried walking towards them slowly. I got the hint when they started scraping the ground like they weren't happy and stomping the ground while staring me down. This video is beautiful. Maybe if I had a different approach, the horses would have seen me differently.

    This guy clearly understands the importance and significance of our wild horses! No one, not the government, not the cattlemen and not the Bureau of Land Management has the right to drive them, or remove them from the land!!! WILDMUSTANGX domestic horses, yes. wild or even semi-feral horses will be very intimidated by being stared at in the eye as they're not used to humans or their body language. they naturally see humans as a threat and not a source of food or shelter

      @mackm5565 9 років тому

      You are truly correct!

    • @enmonjea
      @enmonjea 9 років тому +2

      WILDMUSTANGX Technically these horses are feral horses and not "wild" horses. They are runaways from domesticated horses that bred. We technically were the ones that put them there a couple hundred years ago. Half of them are from military remount horses that were released. I don't like the fact that we have to round them up, but sadly we do. They destroy the land/ecosystem when they become too populated (since they are not naturally part of the ecosystem) and since we destroyed their natural predators such as wolves in these areas, there is nothing to keep the population from exploding except widespread disease. Thankfully, the collected horses make wonderful and happy mounts (for both english and western riders!) and the non-adopted usually go to long-term holding facilities which are basically as if they were wild again.

      Horses can be controlled with fear. It's how they traditionally used to be "broken". This video doesn't show anything as bad as how it used to be, but it's important that people ask questions about how to improve animal welfare in situations like this, because there can always be improvements, and people working with animals will always make mistakes, and can always learn.

    sad truth is the government is rounding up more and more

    • @megananspach5179
      @megananspach5179 7 років тому +3

      red raven yes but did these horses were already rounded up once, these are not real mustangs. You can see the freeze brands on them in some of the frames. Although this film is beautiful, the ugly truth is that real mustangs were not meant to be here. Wild horses are not natural in the Americas, and although they are a wonderful part of our history and I agree that a small number of herds should be kept to preserve that history, the environment is not able to support them. Most mustangs are imbred, starving, and have terrible conformation which makes them really unhealthy. And when the government rounds them up, they try to adopt them out but because of their unattractiveness and health issues, very few people want them. They are moved to feedlots where even though they are cared for and fed adequately, they have terrible lives in small overpopulated pens and just live there until they die of incurable health issues. The government spends billions of dollars each year feeding and caring for these animals that no one wants and weren't meant to be here in the first place.

    • @thedilemma7111
      @thedilemma7111 7 років тому +7

      Horses are native to the Americas. The mustangs are descended from horses that were reintroduced to the country by the conquistadors. Our original horses were hunted to extinction.

    • @rettajonesArabianHorseLover

      If you are not a native american then you are not meant to be here either!!

    • @mary_2637
      @mary_2637 5 років тому +2

      Yes but the only reason they are doing so is because usually they are starving or thrusting to death.....when I got my mustang he was fresh of the range and he was skin and bones because where he was from there was no cattle but thousands of mustangs and they were starving each other and killing each other for food which killing is not their natural instinct since they are a pray type animal but even though it may be that we want them free it seems fair to gather them and actually give them homes that can feed them give them love give them water give them the freedom to eat when they please and drink when they please so they Dont have to worry about when there will be water again when there will be food again because I know when I got mine ever day he had a 20 gallon tank and I was at least filling it up 4 times daily so he thought because there is water here there may not be the next place which little did he know he was staying and is still here after many years and now Hes is my best friend ...but I said this all to say this is it in our best interest that they stay on the stay on the range because we think they have freedom or is it in their best interest that they get feed , water and love? I know that my ranch is open for more that's why I go pick up in January about 6 more. .....sorry for bothering you just trying to give you some food for thought
