    I'm straight and this actually made me cry. I love everyone equally, including people of different sexual or gender orientation, it makes me sad that things like this happen in the first place, though happy there's hope out there for victims of discrimination.
    Well done, everyone at BeLonG.

    One day we'll live in a world where everyone is accepted for who they are. I'm just a bit surprised that it's 2014 and we haven't gotten there yet.

      As long as Christianity's around we'll never get there.

      Eugene Grewing Dude, that's a bit unfair. I live in Toronto, and we're having world pride this year. Guess who's the grand marshal for the parade? A gay church minister. And not only a gay church minister, the first one to conduct a legal gay marriage in all of Canada. There was such a threat to his safety at the ceremony that he had to wear a kevlar vest. Believe me, my grandparents and my parents were there. He risked his own life to conduct that wedding. His church has spent years advocating for LGBTQ rights and also make it clear that God does NOT hate LGBTQ people. My late uncle was his protégé and meant to take over the church eventually, and my uncle was gay! So some deep south idiotic Christians hate LGBTQ people, but they're just that, idiotic. Christianity is good at it's core, and the really stupid ones are dying out. So please, don't generalize all Christians, because they're not all the same.

      Eugene Grewing Yeah because we can't accept Christians for who they are. Not all Christians are homophobic. This goes both ways. Stop the hate.

      Sharkgirl7 No, it's really not. Not in Toronto at least. You can be gay and still be religious. There's nothing wrong with a gay church minister. Many people are super open minded, unlike you apparently.

    I loved this video.
    I'm not out at work. I work for a national company and at the national level, they've been making a real effort to make it clear that diversity is important and that they support the LGBT* employees. At my particular office, however, I don't have a real sense of how it would be taken. I don't know of anyone in my office (of 200+ people) who's out. So I've been very careful with my pronouns and I've avoided personal conversations as much as possible, which means that although I've been working there for three years, I'm not close to many of my colleagues and I feel like an outsider. I know I could take a risk and come out, but I'm too scared.

      I'm in your boat. I almost did at once of my jobs but someone who was flamboyant got fired and the day manager said "Good less fags around the better" to staff members after he was gone. I was hurt that this was a manager who you go to when there is an employee issue. I'm in the closet at work world too >.>

    I look forward to the day when homophobes and transphobes are shamed as much as racists are now. Since we know it will never fully go away, they should be ashamed enough to keep their mouths shut about their bigotry.

    • @SEAWEEDER1
      @SEAWEEDER1 9 років тому

      MsWannabeGamer ..Hope so but doubtful, I work in local gov serving the public, at my work homophobic and racist abuse happens on a daily basis and has done so for many years. Its easier to bully the one offended out of the job rather than deal with the workforce (400+).. the man in charge of equality in the workplace in our area team is homophobic.. you just learn to switch off after 12 years of it.

    My god, I was crying the whole way through that. I think the fact that there were people they could go to about things like that made it all the more emotional. It's awful that your job and work relationships can be threatened by your home life. I long for the day when nobody will even think twice before coming out as gay or trans.

    See that's the thing. Me being trans, I don't think I can EVER be OUT in a workplace. That hurdle is yet to be jumped since I'm only 16 doing my GCSEs and I know that I shouldn't be worrying about it but I am. And I dread to go into a workplace where I'm not accepted. See any job I get I see what peoples attitudes are like and then I decide. Or basically just any place for that matter that I feel the need to tell. I've only ever worked like in me family's garage or what not but I mean its still nerve racking thinking that if I ever come out to my whole work or whatever if people use the wrong pronouns or something and I can't help looking upset and they start asking questions and I have to tell them. It's just scary but as I said when I get a REAL job I'll then cross that bridge for the last time and never look back. I hope I'm welcomed into the world of work in a kind and pleasant way not scary and sheet. I hope that anyone out there like me who is going through that will eventually come out of that dark forest and into fields of green. I like this video.

    It is very hard for me to watch this. I was forced out of the closet long ago at best buy and was shuffled around until I had to quit. I then went back in the closet. I moved to the Netherlands and SAS blown away with the acceptance. However I was forced out do to immigration laws ate just 3 years. I went back in the closet but when I added my husband to my Benifits I outted to a few people. Some people reacted in a way I can not type here. I struggle every day and worry when someone more finds out how long before I am fired. I love my husband but I hate myself. I wish I was not this way :-(

    • @HyperDaFox
      @HyperDaFox 10 років тому

      Xoa Gray It's to do with being afraid. They have Strong Protections in Colorado and the place I am has "Friendly" policies. However that does not mean anything. They can term you with no cause. Then what? Then you become that gay guy who's toxic if you say anything. That's reality ;( I am literally the only Gay person I know here. Hence why it leaked out when I added my husband onto my Benefits. They did not have the practice in the system to do that (Convert Domestic Partner to Spouse) and it needed an Oracle Patch. Once the Oracle team saw the name, I knew some people would find. Luckily it's only been a small handful, but it should have been noone ;(

    I can't believe that this is happening in 2014. Why is this world so bad and why are some people so intolerant about the sexual orientation? Some of my friends are also gay, so whats the matter?
    If i dont like people its because of their attitude not about her sex life or religion.

    It annoys me how Christianity is now considered a homophobic religion. It annoys me how there are some so called "Christians" who think that bullying and judging is okay if they think that other's sexual preference isn't okay with God. It annoys me how these few "Christians" stand out more than Christian allies who believe God made everyone who they are and who they love.

    This is a great commercial but I think they "downgraded" what millions of GLBT people go through every day!
    I personally have been beaten, kicked out of apartments, fired from jobs, and asked or accused of having AIDS for being Gay! And, I live in Canada and we have had same sex marriage since 2005...
    I think a lot of negative responses are because I'm not societies opinion of "stereotypical" Gay and they can't handle it? ( I'm not sure why that would be a factor) but, It's been said many times to me, usually before they react poorly, "but you don't look/act Gay" ! And, I ask them what exactly does Gay look or act like?

    • @Pixzule

      There's nothing wrong with having both, people who hate on religion are (imo) just as bad as people who hate on gays and transgenders. If you are insulting someone just because of their personal beliefs and sexualities then you are just as bad as West Borrow Baptist Church

    • @platinumdynamite

    • @blodstainer

      Pixzule Munster sexuality is not somethign you choose, religion is the choice of believing instead of understanding

    • @blodstainer
      @blodstainer 10 років тому +1

      megan x I don't care about your sexuality, if you're belief is non-scientific I will judge you on the basis of disrespecting knowledge and learning. Aka calling religious people ignorant.

    • @blodstainer
      @blodstainer 10 років тому

      platinumdynamite Yes but there is, religion that teaches people, is inherently bad. It doesn't respect the academic ways of teaching, nor does it take a responsible stand in scientifically proving and testing that all the statements and theories it makes are true. It spreads ignorance and while ignorance in and of itself is harmless, but when treated as a valid source of information and learning, it can be damning.

    nope, if you look like a man, I'll refer to you as a man. If you look like a woman, I'll refer to you as such. If YOU choose to be whatever confused state YOU choose to be, that's YOUR choice. YOU don't have the right to force ME to change my choice.
