Infamous: Second Son - Comprehensive Powers Overview!

- Hey guys, today I share almost everything you need to know about the powers in Second Son, as well as my opinions on them! Enjoy!

I would rate them, and this is with positive karma so keep that in mind:
4. Concrete (Fight me)
You get it so late, and there is no way to upgrade your heavy ammo shot for concrete. Also you don’t have a down arrow bomb attack. However it’s mobility is a mix of smoke and neon, and its main attack R2 ability, is pretty good. But it’s R1 is just terrible, and it’s charge from enemies? This can be good or bad.
3. Neon
Neon is very good for subduing enemies. Until you reach Video, but we’re not talking about that. Neon is pretty good. With positive karma you can Dash infinitely, and I used this personally to travel pretty fast. Neon is also really good for getting both positive and negative karma fast. I got to level 4 positive karma before I even had video. But it’s weakness becomes clear fast when you see the fast falling, the short slow time down skill, and overall bad R1 skill.
2. Smoke
Now listen, most people think this is crazy but just like neon, it can 1 shot enemies with a single R2 attack. A single headshot is enough to kill/subdue them. Smokes invincibility frames when dashing and amount of upgrades is also great because it allows for A. Travel without damage. And B. It’s upgrades allow for L1 to become a overpowered way to play the game. You can kill/subdue up to an entire hoard at once, and when fully upgraded it allows for longer status effect, and bigger range of effect. Overall only downside is movement.
1. Video
Do I really need to say anything? I can take a helicopter, one of the most powerful enemies, out in 1 heavy attack and 1 R2 barrage. Not to mention R2 is automatic and the fastest firing attack in the game so it can get interesting. It’s movement? Amazing. I’ve crossed half the map without touching the ground using video, and there is a upgrade that makes it so you automatically begin to hover when aiming. Hovering also resets after every Dash so you can go really far. And that heavy attack, damn I love it. It’s homing attack, and so so much damage. Basically Videos only downside is there’s not very many places to refill your energy.
Im evil karma and can dash endlessly
@@hamburglr1 Yeah you can Dash infinitely with either level 3 evil or good karma.
And with Neon, if you have evil karma, you can get an upgrade which makes the R2 ability much faster
@@mrscheese4340 yeah neon is 2nd if you use evil karma, and with positive karma it’s extremely close to smoke only being beat because smoke shoots missiles and shooting enemies heads gives positive karma towards your drop zone. Also the shotgun shot is really good.
video powers (Gameplay limited) are also nice to spawn-simulate at least a 40+ wingmen army all around you.
but that could take time to one spawn simulated wingmen each. and by then....sucks, since 10+ wingmen were already defeating half of the crowds of hostile NPCs.
Smoke would be sooo good if you could Dash indefinitely...like hank....god would that be cool

Lore-wise: given enough time for Conduit experiences Delsin could even without the faster help of Rayfield energy sucking.

Awwww smoke is my favorite, you forgot to mention that you get the cinder blast(shotgun, hold R2) which makes for a way easier time with those shields

Neon : speed
Video : endurance
Concrete \ earth : power
obliterating blast just blows anything in the way but my fav is vedio in good karma and smoke in evil karma

@@mustthofaliontiger8938 Video = Endurance? Lol no. Video is more of a Flank Offense.
Concrete is Endurance, because you have upgrades that straight up give you damage resistance.
Neon is Speed, but also Long Range Damage.
And Smoke is full-on Glass Canon, due to lack of mobility and protective abilities.
So concrete’s mobility options just turn you into sonic

@@fiesty_cauca_0252 Bruh it’s an 8 month old comment lol. Sonic can turn into a ball, and while you’re in the air concrete turns you into a ball. Neon does no such thing, but its VFX are far better.
@@birdbrain691 i never thought of the concrete power like sonic. for about a year now, i thought of the concrete power more similar to cannonbolt from ben 10
You know if they ever make another Infamous game where we will be playing Delsin again they should consider upgrading the smoke powers to be more powerful

I vote for at least 12+ Conduit powers.
but....that also meant he met with 12+ other Conduits just before the start of this hypothetical new infamous game. off-screened (so that means one Conduit-player starts off with the previous IF:SS powers that he has 'borrowed' and 3 newer matter manipulated element ones as a starting kit) or during his first unfortunate confrontations of those prime Conduit characters.
The smoke power also has that blast power where you hold down the R2 button for a bit, it seems easy to forget about when you get all the other power upgrades but it still comes in handy at close range. Its like a shotgun smoke power
when i was playing through the game, i found that the neon shots do more damage to enemies than the smoke shots, but that might be a mistake on my part
supersnke1 they do, but smoke fires faster and has the shotgun blast. Neon has higher damage and extra range, with almost no travel time. Smoke is faster, better for closer ranges
but evil karma smole deal more damage

What if each character interaction gave you a different power like hank would give you dash 4 times if you spare him but if you kill him you can make a smoke shield or something. It would give reasons to actually choose an evil option during a good playthrough
This is a good idea but there's only so many inter interactions that you can do with each prime conduit lol.
I think with Hank you only get like three, Abigail it's like all the way up to they meet Eugene. Eugene I forget how many and I believe Brook was twice lol
@@LordOfDragons4122 I think they meant the "Corrupt Fetch/Eugene" and "Redeem Fetch/Eugene" choices you get after you absorb their powers.
Or their good/bad side missions such as stopping drug dealers with Fetch or killing protestors with Fetch.

Ok so Smoke is a mid range semi-auto rifle, Neon is a quick insta defeat long range rifle, Video is a hybrid move set with a smg, and Concrete is a tank
smoke is more of a shotgun, especially with evil karma smoke is lethal up close, it has the least damaging missile and basic attack, but is great with instant executions. neon is pretty useless unless ur on a good play through and your good at aiming. video is stealthy and agile, has an ok basic attack but either strongest or 2nd strongest missile depending on karma. concrete is just great at control making you beefy and having the heaviest hitting attack, on flat ground the dash is way better than neon.

I really enjoyed this review, thank you :) I just got back into gaming and bought a ps4 pro and this game was 1 at the top of my list and I love this game!

I love neon. I just wish that whenever I'm running it wouldn't make my screen 10 times brighter.
This game held up pretty well. Playing it now on PS5 in 4K 60fps.
I havnt even played this game but this guy made this interesting.

Smoke is a grunt neon is a mobility video is a heavy concrete is a juggernaut
So, as usual, I'm a bit behind. Just found this game in a list of best superhero/powers games for ps4 and this one grabbed me so I ordered it immediately
You should also try prototype it also is a good superhero game

Great video my friend. I just downloaded this game on my brand new PS5 and I’m about to start playing it. I played the first infamous to completion but that’s all my experience with this franchise.

I don't know much about Infamous. But is the basic premise of the powers are using matter from your environment into a super power?
In the games lore there is certain people who are able manipulate specific forms of matter. In this game you play as one of those people but he's different because he can absorb other people power and manipulate multiple forms of matter, not just one

You have good ideas for videos that have the potential but I feel like you don't put as much effort in editing wise. You just talked over some gameplay and tried to stay on track, while you weren't very organized and forgot some important things. I think with more effort editing wise your videos will appeal to a greater audience.
***** Your welcome for the advice. I understand what you mean by a more relaxed video but for this one I don't think it should be. I see people who want to learn about the powers and the game, people who don't know as well as more hardcore fans of the series might leave this video confused, which is an issue you and I should want to prevent.

Well there was a free dlc which adds a paper trail power. I was hoping I would get paper but nope.
