It's completely right . So many well-known rock and metal guitarists have spent decades playing techniques from the Spanish classical guitar, which to this day their shape of the sound body as well as the systematics of the frets and the chords based on it, as defined by Señor Don Antonio Torres in Almeria. In the north of Spain as well as in Central Europe, the smaller (tuned to A or G) was used. It was and is still unchanged today (without frets, with 11 strings, with which 6 double choirs are played) to buy. Due to the small oval-shaped resonance body, it is much quieter. Don Torres had the clear idea from the beginning that all 5 fingernails must be used and the frames are placed on the thigh (right or left hand)
Eh not really he played the one concerto I can’t spell (the Rodrigo one) but that’s a massively flamenco inspired classical piece and I can’t really think of any of his major classical achievements

My friend Stephen Bell, classical guitarist, brought Paco to my apt in NYC the night before his debut at Carnegie Hall in the 70’s. He was a genius, yes but also the kindest, most humble artist I’d ever met, then and now. He changed people forever! RIP Paco!
