Man of Steel is one of the best if not best superhero origin film, ever. But I will say, Snyder was thinking way to small. His universe was dying before it started and Snyder approached the lore clueless. I have to be honest, I have never seen someone so lost with what he was doing. Like Gunn, Snyder makes the same films over and over again. He loves a certain tale and when he approach a new project his first action is go back to his same niche. From Dawn of the Dead to Twlight of the Gods. Look at his his films, The Magnificent Seven and The Seven Samurai. All his films are based around that story, same as Gunn but the difference between the two is Gunn applies humor to move the story along while Snyder uses death. Gunn approach, a group of misfits coming together to complete a mission, from Scooby Doo to Creature Commandos, same thing. Add humor to move it along. Snyder, a group of misplaced warriors/fighters coming together to complete a mission, but half or more will die on this journey, i.e Sucker Punch. This is why he didn't have any more story to tell with the DC characters. In BVS we saw Batman v Superman. In JL we saw JL vs Superman. IN JL 2 it would be JL vs Superman then JL 3 JL vs Superman until the last 20 mins then Batman dies, makes a sacrifice like all his other films. I'm tired of Gunn and Synder fooling folks by making the same film. In MOS everyone dies that we are introduced to except the Daily Planet staff and Martha. He killed Jimmy Olson and Dick Grayson. By killing Dick Grayson you removed the Teen Titans from this universe. Snyder lost touch of the characters and started doing his own thing. There is no redemption arc for Batman once he crosses that line but in Snyder's head he thinks Batman can do whatever he wants and no one can stop him in the world which is a far from the truth. I have one question to ask Snyder that might break his brain and I bet he never thought of this which is sad and says a lot about his knowledge of the DC characters. All I want to ask him is what about Jim Gordon? What happened? I bet Snyder or anyone who loves his take on the DC characters can't answer that question. It's an equation they or him can't understand but to a comic reader it's as easy as 0 + 0.
The constant "yeah...hmm..yeah...wow...hmm...yeah" as the other person is speaking is incredibly annoying. Especially since the speaker is rattling off pre written, canned platitudes that are clearly not their own original ideas. One minute in and I can tell this reeks of inauthenticity.
Zack syner did a great job in how they became friends in the end and moved on has friends in all future movies end up become friends and be the way you want them to be done
Seeing a "DARK SUPERMAN" holds NO appeal for me. I am wondering how Snyder's personal family tragedy has influenced his movement into a Dystopian vision
