    That was a great work on the sleave hitch project. Did very well on the deconstruction to save it.

      You are right 3pt is better. Cat0 3pt hitches are even rarer than sleeve hitches over here. We would love to buy a 3pt for our Bolens HT23 even if we have to ship it from the US. Take care

    Had not hear of sleeve hitches before. I like the lift for the plow. Good find on buying the second sleeve hitch. Surprised the seller would sell separate from tractor, though. The standard 50mm ball is different than Canada. We have 2 5/16" for hauling the larger trailers, 2 " most common, and 1 7/8" for smaller trailers. Good bit of detail to order a new sticker too. Some fantastic welding on those modifications! haha The scrap you removed is significant but luckily, some of it can get reused in the shop. This will be an original when you're done. Good job. I think I heard the cameraman speak at one point. He is really coming into his own and I truely believe that he will eventually become a valuable member of the shop. Just keep up on his training (and watch the number of tea breaks).

    • @GardenTractorBoy
      @GardenTractorBoy  Рік тому +1

      Thanks. We added the detail about the ball hitch because we thought that Canada and the US uses a number of different sizes. I don't think the seller reaslised how rare the sleeve hitch is. The cameraman will want extra with a talking part :-) Take care

    • @EverydayProjects
      @EverydayProjects Рік тому

      @@GardenTractorBoy Like I say... keep the cameraman working at assigned tasks until he can work entirely without supervision. I one hear a friend had written a reference for a former employee. It read " He works well under constant supervision." (Sort of like a wheelbarrow, that is. Works when pushed but otherwise stands still). I see the cameraman has earned a spot somewhat above that but will still need prompting, encouragement and further training. You stay the course, Joseph. No pay rises for the cameraman just yet...Evaluate his progress regularly and keep him moving. He may just surprise us all someday soon.

    Very good video. The sleeve hitch on my Case was modified too. I bought the Case 220 about 8 years ago. It was advertised at $50. When I looked at it, it ran and had a milk crate attached to the back. When I got it home it turned out that there was a sleeve hitch under the milk crate. Please use a face shield when you are grinding like that. Good Luck, Rick.

    Poor thing was all sorts of modified. I wish shipping was alot cheaper. I would send you 1 of my spare sleeve hitches. 1 is a NOS (never been used) white Brinly made sleeve hitch and the other is a red Ohio Steel made sleeve hitch. The Ohio Steel sleeve hitches are slightly heavier built than the Brinly. I have no plans of using the Briny hitch.
    Maybe once I get more tractor storage and I buy a few more tractors but I won't own a tractor if it has to sit outside. Repair bills for a tractor that sits outside can get quite expensive. Any rubber or plastic parts will go bad and moisture is not good for the metal parts especially the bearings. I had an old 1050 that I had let sat outside and I was always having to replace parts on it that had seized up. The last time I had worked on it I had to replace the clutch friction material because moisture had caused it to seize and become detached from the hub. The time before that I had to take the steering column off to free up the PTO engagement shaft that had seized. The time before that I had to replace the fuel line and all 4 belts because they had rotted from sitting out in the weather over just 3 years.
    Since I started storing it in a shed I have had to replace the battery once because it was weak and it had froze. Other than regular maintenance items such as oil, spark plug and fresh gas I haven't had to do anything to it since and it has been perfectly reliable.

    • @GardenTractorBoy
      @GardenTractorBoy  Рік тому

      Thanks. We keep all our tractors under cover for the reasons you mentioned but it is hard to make the space. Sleeve hitches are so rare and expensive over here that I expect buying one from you and the shipping costs would still end up being cheaper than buying one locally. Take care
