Thanks for the inspiration. I hadn't even heard of a sleeve hitch (neither had any of the farmers I spoke to) until I found a very similar box blade to yours on sale. As for your welding skills, they beat the heck outta my popcorn-making skills any day :)
Well done sir! I have a bit of grading to and I just bought a smaall MIG welder so I can do it. our instruction is excellent! Thank you for making this...
You did a good job making that sleeve hitch working. I enjoy these type videos, I could watch these type all dy. Wait I do watch them almost al day on you tube. A thumbs up for your channel. Cheers !
If you take another piece of pipe and weld it to the other at a 90 degree angle toward the seat then the pulling pressure would turn into downward push pressure
Arville, thanks a lot, I'm very close but just on the other side of the Mountain (or the other end of "The Tail Of The Dragon" if your a Biker) almost a Volunteer but not quite ; )
lol, not even close, even really nice brand new saws wouldn’t run you that much. A brand new 12” makita is 750$ but you could easily do a project this small with an angle grinder and anyone looking at welding even at a novice level would have a grinder. FYI a 14” dewalt cut off saw is about 200$ and you can get them cheaper if you’re willing to sacrifice a few inches of cutting capacity and go with a generic brand.

After making a pass of weld with a " buzz box welder" it isa good idea to chip the slag from the weld.
I didn’t know what a sleeve hitch was, now I understand. Would work great on my John Deere 214. Only thing is I can’t weld worth a crap lol. Great job
Thanks for sharing the design. Neat build.

Cheers to you! Hopefully someone will get some use from the Video. If it helps even one person I feel it was a success.
