Seems like a good match for that kind of gliding. I was born way after "Disco died" as a party scene, but I think it will always hit a certain floaty, flashy mood like nothing else.
The Price is Right often used this piece of music, along with Jerry Goldsmith's theme to Star Trek: The Motion Picture, for its "Time Capsule" themed showcases back in the 80s.
@@beeweejr But I do remember, however, _The Price Is Right ▶️_ used this disco 🪩💃🏻🕺🏻 version of the 1977 Steven Speilberg film 🎥 _Close Encounters of the Third Kind_ for its _Time Capsule_-themed showcases back ⬅️ in the early 🕒-to-late ⏰ 1980s.
My sister got this soundtrack album for high school graduation gift in 1978 & this 33 RPM single shown here was included. It was one sided as I recall. She also bought the 45 RPM edition about 6 months earlier too.
@@DeanStricksoncopying his disco hit style is what I mean. I’m not disrespecting John 😊 from what I’ve read, John or someone at Lucasfilm was upset Meco was making so much money off of disco versions of their songs and that’s how this one came up. It’s very well done. If Meco hadn’t done it first though, I don’t think John would have thought of doing this. That’s all.
My gosh! I remember playing this on the record player in the floor when I was 9 year's old in 1977. I miss those days. 😊
This song is one of my earliest musical memories as a young boy in the 70s. Love it!
Was watching the movie & remembered the disco version. I used to roller skate to it back in the day !
Yep. Me too! :)
Love it !

I just can't label this as a disco record.

I thought this was the coolest instrumental ever when I first heard and still today!!!
Omgggg there's a disco version 😱 so wonderful 😍🎶👌
I would not refer to this as disco but it's absolutely great. John is the Man.
@@beeweejresattamente... Nulla a che vedere con certe porcherie "disco"
Cool 😎 tune takes me back to 1977 my brother had a 45 record I listened to it so much I wore it out had to buy him a new one hee hee😁
Indeed! 😄
It's weird hearing this in stereo. Before now, I had only heard this on the car's AM radio as a kid.
Still funky
Yep 👍!
Have this on 12"
Watch the skies 👍
PS
if everything is ready on the dark side of the moon, play the 5 tones

It was the last track on my cassette of the Soundtrack. Hope to find on Amazon Music some day.
I don't remember this at all but it's awesome!

As an 80’s kid… most excellent
I always wondered about the mother ships home world.
I have the 45 rpm single of this.
Much better version than Meco's Horrible version 👍
No need to knock Meco! JW is trying to copy him with this!
Who's copying who? Meco would have been nothing without Williams. @@newmusicmark

I await Amazon Music to get this.
It's on the CD soundtrack from the movie. It's an extra song not listed.
Not on Spotify either…
