Excellent video, mate! I'm a big fan of Hall Effect switches. I'm a 65% guy, but tried the Q1 HE, K70 PRO TKL MGX, and Apex Pro TKL. Sorry to hear about your bad experience with Pwnage, because I really want the Zenblade 65. It's a beautiful beast but still doesn't have DKS. Pwnage told me it'll be added in a firmware update, but no news on when to expect it. For the record, customer service was extremely helpful and responsive when I dealt with them. Maybe I caught them on a good day. For now, I'm using the NuPhy Halo65 HE. It's quite good and was less than $100 shipped when I preordered it. Happy New Year, mate!!
I would personally like a few reviews on the ultra budget side, perhaps stuff like the MChose ACE 60, Mad68, and the Attack Shark x65. Once you account for shipping, Wooting blows the boards in the 180-200 range out the water, so you really need to go cheap to see if there's actually decent stuff
TLDR:Check out keychron k2 HE instead of q1 he! Honestly, was not excited about the keychron q1 he, in terms of sound, looks etc. However, I took another look around and they also have the keychron k2 he and my god, what a difference in sound and looks, especially the special editions, please check them out! They are also relatively cheap too, compared to the q series, while still having great build quality. Just purchased them and could not be happier.
Damn, I wondered why I never saw pwnage stuff on here. But it's good to stand on business. Also your sponsor link got formatted so the link isn't clickable
Between myself, my wife and our three gamer kids I get my hands on more keyboards than most folks have the chance to. For HE keyboards it really begins and ends with Wooting. The software is simply the best and those guys bring a laser like focus to their products. Keep up the good stuff Brian!

I have had the lo pro Nuphy Air60 HE since it launched a few months back. By far, the best keyboard for gaming I’ve ever used, although I do not own any other HE keyboards. I can say, that from someone who owns a lot of custom mechanical keyboards, that the quality and functionality is up there with the best. Sounds great out of the box as well if you like deeper sounding boards
The Akko Monsgeek M1 line got an HE version not that long ago and im fairly interested in that one. Monsgeek M1 has always been a relatively well built budget aluminium kit, if software for HE version is good then it could be an interesting wooting 80 alternative.

Awesome video! I do wish that you mentioned the Nuphy HE low profile boards that they have been making lately. They sound pretty good for a low profile hall effect board and are priced pretty competitively in my opinion. Keep up the good work! :)
The switches on the Pro X TKL Rapid are some variation of Raeshas (apparently same as the upcoming Pulsar eS Hall Effect keyboard), so does the Falchion HFX as well. Great video dude 🙏
If there's any board you should check out after, I heard good things about the MADE68 Ultra from Melgeek, and the Air60HE and Air75HE from Nuphy which are both low-profile hall effect boards too :)
I have the Air 75 v2 and Air 60 v2, they are ones I'm leaning towards, I want a better chassis though. I want something like the Mode keyboards but with hall effect switches and wireless.
I have the Air75 HE and it's become my daily driver board, though I do kinda wish it was still in Alice 75% layout. Beyond the issues switching back to a conventional layout, I love the thing. Sounds amazing and great to game with, as well as typing. Plus, it still has the F-row and arrow keys,
Budget keyboard mean budget software, might be a decent keyboard build quality wise, but software won't probably perform as good as wooting (or the few other "top tier" brands).
@Kahlimer0 just buy this keyboard and you will understand everything) software is good, and it is also a copy of wooting site. No need for wooting anymore (typing on mad 60 he ultimate)
Id recomment avoiding anything with switches where the magnet isnt centred. Ive got 2 drunkdeer keyboards with the Raesha switches, any sort of wobble on the keycap can activate the switches if they're set too sensitive. The centred magnet awitches dont have that problem
Ive been using my keychron q1 he since it released, and I love the sound/ feel. It was also the only wireless option, and the build quality is top notch. Came in cheaper than the wooting and I'd take it again every day of the week.
Great video as always. I’ve used most available HE boards over the last 6 months and have settled on the Nuphy Halo65 HE. Not sure I can do any better for the price. Software is good to me. Board sounds amazing. Just wish the cable wasn’t so short! Someone needs to figure out how to do wireless HE with a good battery life. That will be my next purchase.
I second this. I'm surprised @badseedtech didn't have Nuphy oh his list. I ended up getting / trying both the HE60 and HE75, but the 75 is not the same as the 60, sadly. There's something with the chassis in the smaller unit that makes for a nicer sound / feel.
One thing I would suggest if having issues with magnets and actuations is to only use static RGB or turn it off. On some boards the extra heat from the using wave effects can affect the magnets and thus performance of them.
Would even go as far as calling the OOBE of the Keychron abysmal. Gave it a short test before modding it a fair bit, new foam, new stabs, new caps and a bunch of lube. After that its fairly amazing tbh. Saying it's wireless is such an understatement considering its one of the few HEs coming with 2.4 instead of just bluetooth. Also fairly biased because its a 75 and comes with a knob.
This couldnt have been uploaded at a better time. Ive been looking for some suggestions on this kind of keyboard and the video roundup definitely helped narrow my choices

My daily driver is the Keychron Q5 Max which I've been using for over 3 years. It's slightly modded with added felt to the back plate which did help silent the pingy aluminium sound. Solid wonderful board. The second most used and loved is my Nuphy Halo 75. I just ordered the Luminkey 98 with the swappable number pad. I'm pretty excited for that board to arrive and see if it replaces my Q5 Max.
1 Question Thou, Mr BadSeed... I have a Keychron K2 He and there's an option to calibrate the keyboard, should I do it or nah? How important is calibrating a keyboard?
I use and haven’t had many issues with the drunkdeer a75. Shortly after I bought it, it switched to web based software which was nice. Haven’t had to tinker much with it since the initial setup. Would like to see your thoughts on it and if it had any problems from your perspective.
Fantastic video as always, curious as to your thoughts on apex pro tkl gen 3, considering Steelseries was like right behind Wooting on the hall effect train. Thanks!
Do all of these keyboards count as “controllers” on steam input? I had the wooting 60he and was having constant issues with my xbox controller connecting to games because of the keyboard?
I have the Keychron Q3 HE and the sound is much better than the one of Q1. My first keychron and I dont regret it and it smokes any wooting in terms of performance, looks, sound, build and price. No 0.1mm issues on this board
There is one keyboard I love that I think is a good alternative to the wooting and that comes from Arbtier with their 65% keyboard. It's a really good HE keyboard and has a very pleasant sound when you type on it. It comes in an aluminum case and has snap tap on top of all that with a web based software. I think you will enjoy it, I've been using mine for months and love it.
You should do a whole video on the GEONWORKS Venom HE PCB boards. They have 60 and TKL layouts that are compatible with many existing cases, due to the design considerations on their PCB. These boards apparently have the most stable 0.01 mm (yes, 0.01 not 0.1) performance
Local config software is important to keyboard longevity - a good keyboard can last literal decades. Web config tools could disappear at a moments notice, whether due to lack of support or the company becoming defunct. Web config is a 'nice to have', but Wooting is doing it right as usual by having both options available.
Geonworks' Venom HE PCBs not being on this list feels like a disservice to the keyboard hobby.. =/ They have a LOT of customization options on the PCBs such as split right shift, split backspace, and 7u spacebars. I just needed you to explain it the way you do. Hope your holidays went well sir!
really interested in the Nuphy air60 HE. I already have a wooting60he in the proper redux case. But I also have a dozen keyboards because I don't have a problem. so what's one more.
I am using wooting HE + tofu redux case for almost a year now. I dont even play competitive FPS anymore. It works well with other games like WoW. This will be my endgame kb, unless wooting decides to release a 65% and there's a case like tofu that can fit it.
If you value build quality, nice keycaps and good software all in one package yeah, wooting software it's a little better but quality of the keychron it's way better than the 80, and sounds better too, but don't know if it's consistent or not, my spacebar it's meh but everything else it's pretty good
Loving my Zinc 80HE. Lack of Mediakeys isn't a huge problem really, the fn layer software media keys work good enough. Good to see a more competitive market tho!
I have zero need for HE boards because I rarely have time to game and when I do it’s an mmo and I use a Razer Tartarus and a naga mmo mouse, so keeb is only used for chat. But lately I just don’t game so I care about my boards sound and feel and HE boards just don’t do it for me.
Can u please review the Redragon K617 Rapid Trigger Gaming Keyboard. It's literally $60 and I want to see how it compares to everything priced way above it.

I don't have other HE keyboards to compare it to but I do have a few mech keyboards and the madlion sounds way better than my stock mech keyboards. its hard to recommend a knock off but its really good.
Im using Asus Rog Falcion Ace HFX for 1 week and only i can say that this keyboard is just wizzard.Smooth switches stable RT, Speed tap is brilliant. And i got this wizzard for 149.99
was hoping to see the Sikakeyb castle HM80 since it's the only board i know of with a .01 actuation instead of being limited to .1 but great video still. i think more company's will go with .01 after boardzy raved about it lol
Really love these videos, appreciate all the work. If you ever have any time could you do some real budget HE boards like the Akko MonsGeek FUN60, Madlion 60 hE?
This was kind of an odd take to be honest, suggesting latency and performance etc are not important and to focus on layout, features and build quality... in the next breath wooting is number 1 because it has good software but limited layouts and sizes and no added features on the board... Sounds to me like wooting was first but no reason to actually be first choice. There are plenty of competitors on the market doing great things, i use a nuphy field 75HE, that has web based software, dials and volume knobs etc They only make keyboards to so... a plus i guess.
Unfortunately, as good as Wooting is when the whole package is considered, its price in my country is just absolutely ridiculous. The 60HE costs 2.5x the Luminkey, and the 80HE Plastic version costs around 4x so i'm pretty much forced to buy other RT boards with much more logical price.

really interested in the Nuphy air60 HE. I already have a wooting60he in the proper redux case. But I also have a dozen keyboards because I don't have a problem. so what's one more.
I am using wooting HE + tofu redux case for almost a year now. I dont even play competitive FPS anymore. It works well with other games like WoW. This will be my endgame kb, unless wooting decides to release a 65% and there's a case like tofu that can fit it.
bro i gotta hit the gym wtf im tryna get like you
I can't wait for the desktop audio video. I bet the Atom 2 stack will be featured.
Keychron Q1 HE wins then? This is my current top runner, cant see its worth an extra £100 for the Wooting 80 HE
If you value build quality, nice keycaps and good software all in one package yeah, wooting software it's a little better but quality of the keychron it's way better than the 80, and sounds better too, but don't know if it's consistent or not, my spacebar it's meh but everything else it's pretty good
I saw today that Monsgeek released Fun60, ultimate version lets you use he and mx switches. Would love to see a review of that board
Can these keyboards also perform thumb-stick movement like the wooting can?
Nope
@@JakubixIsHere Wooting is is, thanks!
Drunkendeer review please. They have an option for an aluminum top plate and have rapid trigger support and software is web-based.
Wish there was an arisu/alice hall effect keyboard. Cant use regular keyboards anymore.
weird that there's no mention of nuphy or iqunix
You have to Absolutely check the nuphy air HE keyboards, expecially the air75 HE.
I run the q1he and absolutely love it! Swapped switches because nebulas weren't it for me
What did you swap to?
what about the Apex Pro TKL Gen3?
Can u please review the Redragon K617 Rapid Trigger Gaming Keyboard. It's literally $60 and I want to see how it compares to everything priced way above it.
Would like the reviews on the more expensive chinese boards like Sikakeyb
Would like to see the NuPhy 75% HE reviewed!
i almost spit my drink out when you cut to that screen cap from south park lol
Great video... I really wanted a wooting 80HE but I just can't afford it right now. I ended up getting the madlion 68HE and its honestly been amazing. I don't have other HE keyboards to compare it to but I do have a few mech keyboards and the madlion sounds way better than my stock mech keyboards. its hard to recommend a knock off but its really good.
I got my Razer Huntsman v3 pro 60% for around 30-35 usd and I loving it
Im using Asus Rog Falcion Ace HFX for 1 week and only i can say that this keyboard is just wizzard.Smooth switches stable RT, Speed tap is brilliant. And i got this wizzard for 149.99
and here is where preferences comes into play, me personally I really like the sound of the keychron HE and don’t get how you prefer the Asus lol
NuPhy and iQunix would deserve a shoutout too!
hey badseed, ive been seeing this mad60he keyboard floating around, 30 dollar he keyboard? maybe take a look!
How about corsair k70 tkl pro?
was hoping to see the Sikakeyb castle HM80 since it's the only board i know of with a .01 actuation instead of being limited to .1 but great video still. i think more company's will go with .01 after boardzy raved about it lol
Really love these videos, appreciate all the work. If you ever have any time could you do some real budget HE boards like the Akko MonsGeek FUN60, Madlion 60 hE?
What about Nuphy Air 60 HE?
you should also state if they have controller emulation like the wooting does, really great for racing and games like gta
That’s a good point. I forget people actually use the original wooting feature
Can you do a review for the wlmouse ying63 and maybe the venom60HE pcb
What about the Nuphy 65 HE?
Proud owner magger 68 he pro. They say the web based software coming soon but yeah aside from that really happy with the purchase.
no arbiter?
Thought it was boring
A rakka board test?
