Good info. However by the time you pay for multiple streaming channels to get all the different programing you want the cost is just as much as cable or satellite. Each streaming service is increasing in price and almost all require a monthly fee that quickly add up to hundreds of dollars a year. Not really a savings.
Then cable TV must be very cheap where you live, unless you have a promotional price. I cancelled cable in 2018, and I was paying over $100 for the lowest level that would qualify me for a TV/Internet bundle (TV Select with Spectrum). With Philo, FrndlyTV, and 4 channels that I subscribe to on Prime Video, I pay just over $60 for streaming services. As I said, back in 2018, I paid Spectrum over $100/month on TV alone, and it was their cheapest bundle tier. Spectrum has raised their prices more than 4 times, so I don't know what it would cost now. I will never subscribe to cable tv again.

I can record tons of shows that I watch with no extra cost. If I were to cut-the-cord so to speak and just use streaming services my bill would only be $25-$40 less and I'd be giving up the DVR recording feature. For me , I don't see the benefit of cutting the cord. I think one has to look at what they want to watch, not what's offered.

RE Over the Air Antennas.....please mention that ROKU TVs do not support NEXT GEN ATSC 3.O signals. The ROKU tuner at this point only does the standard 1.0 signal tuning. You have to get a 1.0 antenna without the NEXT GEN filtering. Also please explain that standard BlueRay boxes will not play the 4kUHD format. Thusly to use the ROKU 4k features you have to upgrade to a new BlueRay box and upgraded BlueRay discs. Thanks. Good video.

Why does ROKU live TV disconnect all the time?
Pluto: I'm signed in & my Favorites always display, but my Watchlist for On-demand disappears. It used to show up, but now it disappears whenever I leave the app.
How can I use a tv antenna with Roku 4k ultra hd smart tv? Shut off the Roku?
Is this like fire stick
I like Pluto and am glad they added some channels with programming from my era. However, some channels such as MST3K, Mission Impossible, Perry Mason, etc, have short playlists. Hopefully they can add more episodes to these channels. Too bad they dropped "Wings" from their lineup as well.
Perry Mason, Mission Impossible on MEtv every weeknight
Agree on the Wings comment
I'm old enough to have seen those when they were on originally. Not interested in old TV shows.
@@user-ci1kz1cc6t agreed that why I said it's not really live TV if it's current affairs from 2017
Me too on Pluto. It's the most like live TV. Always something good to watch.
Our local news can be viewed over the internet. Can I browse regular internet over roku or sync internet from my phone onto the TV via roku?
You should be able to from your cell. If you have a smart TV that has a web browser, you can. I am waiting delivery of a Samsung that has that.
can you access UA-cam on Roku or that not available yet?

Good evening, My dad has roku but had cable before, he likes the regular CBS/NBC/ABC, AND loves sports FOOTBALL/rodeo mostly AND old cowboy movies...any suggestions. I really don't want to buy from cable or satillite anymore. I haven't had TV for years so I am researching around for the best buck...I don't want to go back to cable.....$$$$$..Thank you
thx you for this video very helpful to me i love it
You can get haystack news and local now has live tv and it's free
If you want to watch local channels just use a TV antenna if you can put one up
Some areas have bad reception that limit how many, if any, channels you can pick up. But, yes, you are right. A good antenna in a good reception area can get you many dozens of channels
Hello,
Thank you for this video.
I’m of the Boomer generation. Lol
I did t grow up with electronics as it is today.
I have a TCL ROKU TV. Without warning or any indication my TV will not operate with my ROKU stick. I’ve changed new batteries twice, and used another new stick. Could there be something wrong with my TV? Do I need to do a reset on it? It came with many apps already installed on it. Can you please do a video on how to install apps and connect the ROKU stick back to the TV. Thanks for your time. I greatly appreciate your teaching abilities.
If I didnt have kids who wanted Netflix and Disney + I could live with just Pluto. so many movies from every decade and live news.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are a big help!!!!!
What about local news for Canada Ontario Kitchener CTV news thank you
I went to a party at a friends house and he used Roku tv but there were a lot of adds, decided to not get a Roku tv, I watch a lot of UA-cam on my computer. I used my TV downstairs for antenna Tv but I need a new TV now. Can I attach my new TV directly to my computer to avoid the commercials? i watch devotional UA-cams but do not wat stupid adds interrupting the shows. The commercials seem to interrupt the shows at random places, even on short music clips. On regular tv the adds are properly put in so as to go with the flow of the show.
my new roku tv will not let me access local tv after scanning in 67 channels
Thanks for these tips
How do you change channels with the remote if you are using a over the air antenna?
You have to use the TV remote, not the ROKU remote. You have to use the TV remote to switch to OTA, as well.
