Reaction videos creators that show the actual video are absolute leeching scumbags. There's plenty of sites like UA-cam Doubler, which let's you watch two videos together in sync which they could use to give the other person the views too for their hard work, but no, they want it all for themselves.
And you're right, links in the description will give 5% of views at best.
If they only had the reaction, it would give the original creator more views. But the reaction channels want to hog that revenue & not make them come to the vid, so they just put the ENTIRE video in there.

They also can't hide behind "fair use" either as the law describes it as using a "reasonable proportion" of the material, using 100% of a video is not a reasonable proportion.

Never. It never did. The term cancerous refers to a rapidly growing and malignant group of cells that threaten the life of a person, at least in the context of the disease. In the context of society, it means the exact same thing. When a community or something of the sort is cancerous, it is something that has had a very negative impact on multiple other communities or people in general and in the process grows as more people follow the trend.
It means the exact same thing in both contexts.
Also, you know, just saying, but I've had over half of my family die to cancer, and I call things cancerous. It's not a joke. It's using a word in its proper meaning in a different context.

What I do hate though is when "Die of cancer" or some shit like that is posted by some kid in comment sections, as some super casual insult, or way to tell someone to bugger off. There's nothing that contributes, and (as someone who suffers from a chronic disease) I don't think they realize how impactful something like cancer can be on people and their families, or how they would feel if that actually happened to them or people they cared about. Anyway, I'm ranting now, but it's something that bugs me.

8:35 Dude. My dad died of cancer earlier this year.
And you know what?
I don't get triggered when people compare something to cancer. I miss my dad, I loved him to bits. And the last years of his life were not easy. But I'm not gonna use his illness and his struggle as an excuse to be overly sensitive over some silly jokes and comparisons! Instead I dealt with my grief, lived it fully, then accepted my loss. I bear no bitterness over what happened and use this otherwise glum event to mess with my friends and get a good laugh! It's the best I can do to honor him; the fact that he still gets to make me laugh to this day.
Of course, that doesn't mean I spend my days making cancer jokes! I actually don't, because it isn't something I do by nature (not my kind of humor), but every once in a while someone will bring up fathers in a conversation, and I'll take that opportunity to make everyone feel bad for bringing it up, and then laugh at their misery. And if I see a comment that goes somewhere along the lines of "this *popular/unpopular thing* is cancer!" I'll be like "hm, I agree/disagree with that" and be done with it. No triggered-ness needed.
It's understandable if people don't agree with me, though. Some will have had a way worse experience with this illness, so understand if some are much more sensitive about it. This is only my opinion after all. Take it or leave it.

My problem with "Reaction videos" that are literally nothing but their reaction and are the only product of the channel is that literally anyone can do it. I mean, it's in the fucking title for the love of christ. "Reaction". EVERYONE has a "Reaction" when viewing something.
I won't lie, I somewhat enjoy seeing some of these videos, but only certain types. Maximilian, popular fighting game UA-camr, does these every now and then for comedic value, but the meat of his channel is not these videos. In fact, usually if he or someone similar does reactions, it's about DISCUSSION and showing genuine thought on a matter relating to the video they reacted to (Which, for the record, the videos normally relate to something he'll be actively featuring on their channel).
These channels that are literally nothing more than their reactions? No thoughts, no banter, just how they respond immediately to what they see? Fuck, that only draws attention away from the actual video or product.
I think I agree with that.
The key for usually is:
1. Do they have the creator mindset.
2. Whether or not it is the focus of their channel.
3. Do they have the personality/charisma to pull it off.
Although the Fine Bros are the exception to the 2nd part due to the effort they put into the videos
It really comes down to how creative as a person you are. If you go in genuinely just to watch the video with your basic reaction instead of wanting to make something unique about you added to the video, then it's probably not going to be that great.
Does Maximilion have a sort of "UA-cam character" that is slightly different than his normal personality? like Felix's Pewdiepie or Mark's Markiplier?

The problem with youtube right now is that people think too much about getting views and becoming popular , when creators should really just enjoy their art and see popularity as a rare bonus . A few years ago , that wasn't so much an issue . But sadly now people want to become youtube celebrities so much that they'd be willing to steal someone's work to get views . Sad .
I get what you mean, but I think the bigger problem are the leeches who simply want to abuse the system. The reason UA-cam monetizes creators is so they can make UA-cam videos as their career, not to buy another lambo or whatever is cool nowadays (are fidget spinners still cool?) UA-cam is a site to empower creators who want to share their content with the world, not a site for people to sit on their butts and make reaction videos or wrongfully copyright content. It's just sad to see a website we all love, to just become meaningless garbage because UA-cam's algorithm supports the "creators" that exploit the system, not creators with talent.

You are transforming the material into something else (in most cases something better).
And that's what makes your videos unique. The Search for the Worst adds a full review that shows just how bad a movie can be. "Trying to Watch..." is your first reaction to a certain bad movie (Cool Cat, Smosh...). "I Hate [...]" shows just how sensible a community can be, and how easy they can be pissed off, all due to an opinion in a video, which, most of the time, is really well constructed.
Keep up the good work on these entertaining videos. For some reason i find enjoyment in seeing whole communities unite against one negative opinion video on the internet, its pathetic for them but fun to watch you demolish them in a Comment Comeback video.

I like 'reaction' videos such as let's plays... I don't watch those to see how good they are at the game, I watch to see how the particular UA-cam personality will react to it.
