- Опубліковано 27 гру 2021
- I'm a Japanese living in Singapore, married to a Chinese Singaporean. Today I asked my wife sensitive (?) questions. What was her first impression? What's something she likes and don't like about me? Lots of paiseh moments but hope you enjoyed this video. Appreciate it if you can give this video a big thumbs up.
Instant rice introduced in this video (Kin No Ibuki, Hitomebore, Noukyo Gohan) now available at Isetan Scotts, IROHA Mart Plaza Singapura, Every Potong Pasir and online website WAKEARI and Meatlovers.

You are welcome to send fan mails but I may not be able to respond to all of them. But I immensely appreciate your support. Thank you!

Really like how your wife is not pretentious and speaks how she usually does. More wife related videos please! 😊
Your wife sounds like a very nice and well balanced lady. Very gracious of her to not think big spenders are showoffs so mature.
Hi Ghib. Its nice to know how your Singaporean wife and in-laws found acceptance with you, as a Japanese. What about the reverse? How was your family's experience accepting a Singaporean as your spouse?
Ghib. Your wife is a keeper. The moment she said : “I don’t believe in spending thousands on branded stuff. But I believe in spending on good food!” 👍🏻WOW!👍🏻
Her parents have brought her up well.
I like how you keep zooming in on the orangutan during your conversation lol
Your wife has a very sweet voice. She now joins u in your streaming. So nice that both of u can work together and produce videos. Cheers!
Hope to see Ghib teaching his wife how to produce videos..?!! :)
Yes, she's really supportive😁
So cute Ghib, you nailed the Singaporean accent. Your wife sounds very sweet and demure. Love this video. More please.
As a singaporean married to a korean, I feel JP and KR cultures are almost quite similar, haha. Me & my hub also often speak about our different cultures. Kr also have their own instant rice so your rice reminds me of that. Thanks for sharing yr video!
Definitely! Strong hierarchy system in companies, culture of over-working etc, many things in common.
@@GhibOjisan thats what my hub always says! :) look forward to more videos Ghib!
@@Bagellatte The most crucial similarity is indeed that both of them buy fancy sofa and never sit and eat on the sofa. They only use the sofa as a back support!
The instant rice looks delicious, will definitely check it up.
You both r such a cute and compatible couple. Love your cooking shows. 🥰
such a wholesome vid!! love it. As for insects, I think many guys are scared too... We manage to temporarily overcome fear in NS but it returns to us when we become "civilised" again after leaving the military. It's like a psychological thing. Alsoo the food looks great!
Your wife sounds so nice and down to earth!
Nice to hear wifey's natural voice, instead of the speed-up disguised voice :)
Nice, have a happy new year!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
more conversational videos like this! with ur wife :)
Thoroughly enjoyed this fun yet insightful conversation btwn u n ur lovely wife! It’s true tt it takes all kinds to make e whole world, incl sg. Sg is one of e most cosmopolitan cities in e world & our varied cuisine n cross-cultural marriages show it. Materialistic pple r everywhere, not just concentrated in a particular country. There r nice, wonderful & humble pple in sg too. U just need to know where to find them & get to know them! Looking fwd to more hb-wife interaction vids! 👍💪👩❤️👨
素敵な奥さまとのやり取り楽しかったです、声かわいい💓
お義母さまも楽しい方だし、素敵なご家族なんだなと感じます😊
網戸は同感😆
"Wow so loud" 😊 when you eat natto. Cute how your wife expressed it. I had natto for breakfast in a Yokohama hotel. interesting.
"Insects fly only scream scream scream run here run there" 😂😂😂
I have colleague(s) who are Japanese, I feel abit out of place sometimes like I am talking too loudly. So yeah, I get what the Mrs is saying like they are very formal with people. Btw I love this video, it's really cute!!
Your wife very patience, soft spoken, 👍
That is a great video and she definitely has a balance of though which is cool indeed 😎👍
hahaha Love this clip! So authentic and relatable. Thanks Ghib and wifey 😀 and Happy New Year!!
I love your videos. You give very interesting insights and perspectives of our culture and psyche (as well as your own, of course). I am becoming a huge fan of your wife. Hahaha. She seems to have similar views as me, and is as equally forthright about them. I do agree we tend to have a negative rep in worldwide media. Do you have any of your opinions as to why that is the case?
I would loveee to try the brown rice!!
Very good conversation 👌
Request to stream on cooking of typical japanese food and introduction on japanese food.
Don't worry Ghib Ojisan! I've been through NS but I'm not buff and still scared of almost all insects.
Someone in US did a study before where they asked ladies what are the things that woman find attractive in men and that they are more likely to give their mobile number to the men on their first meeting. The women picked : good sense of humour, able to cook and knows how to play musical instruments . Looks like Ghib got all 3.
Are you able to cite that study? I've only read about sense of humour, height and wealth being the most important factors. Besides, asking for someone's phone number takes less than a minute. Not sure how it's possible to cramp so much information within that short span of time.
Studies where they ask people what they would do are grossly inaccurate. People often say they will do one thing but in practice, they do something else.
The wifey really like that brown rice lol! I was watching her spoon, she's trying to control her intake but she can't help it haha!
do a video where Your Wife cooks a Japanese dish and You cook a Singapore Dish and then both of you rate each other dish for authenticity would be like a cook off
とても楽しい動画でしたー!
網戸はマジで欲しい!!笑
炒飯旨そうでした!
My Chinese Singaporese wife said she couldn't agree more with what you shared in the video!
Hey Ghib, are there any natto brands you love / recommend? Would love to know
When it comes to culture, feels like Mrs Ghib is more open.
A few of my husband's friends, when they discussed about buying private condo, quite a few of them thought of their children, as they were worried about the inflated property prices later.
If you can afford condo, it makes sense as the value is better in future and no strict rules of Hdb.
Japanese is my favourite food. Cooking channel next please! I recently learnt about dashi 😎
Should have eaten the rice with that Momoya chilli! :D
Aiyah forgot!🥲
奥さん、ほんとうに声が可愛いですね!😊
Hi Ghib, I like your brown leather sofa. Where did you buy it ?
Ja matane, Mantappu jiwa!!!
You pan looks really cool ! Where did you get it from?
Mrs. Ghib is so straightforward and hilariously savage 🤣
The wet hair thing... It literally takes me an hour even at a salon with 2 people to blow dry my hair so honestly i don't have the time to do it every morning after I've showered. Imagine trying to blow dry it myself with a regular hair dryer -
There's this temple featured in the video At 9:15 , where is that place located at? Which other videos of ghib ojisan does it appear in also I'm very curious!
Love this new video as always 🙂👍🏼👍🏼 The brown rice looks so good where to buy it?
oh just saw it's coming to Singapore soon 😋
It looks nice. Doesnt rlly taste that good though. Theres this skin outside, which makes it not that nice and gives it the brown colour. Its basically less processed rice
Yea unfortunately they are still preparing for selling in Singapore.. the brown rice is really unbelievably chewy and moist!
@@linglingwannabe9135 thats my first impression when I eat brown rice for the first time. After that I’m lovin it! 😬
Ojisan where can we get those rice?
Hahaha… I think generally Singapore girls who became wives are very tolerant of their spouses.
Literally just ordered the same rice 2 minutes before I watched this video lol
Ghib, you can take a look at AmazingSeal’s magnetic insect screen. I'm planning to install those for my future home because I also hate insects. Haha.
Hi, where to get the magnetic insert screen?
Ghib, is it true that in Japan, when you apply to companies for jobs, you have to handwrite all your resume and not print them? I saw on tik tok.
I used to do that! It's to show that you are spending a lot of time and effort for the company and you are serious about the role.
@@GhibOjisan omg. That's crazy. The level of commitment is top notch.
@@GhibOjisan So I guess there's a whole industry based around this where people pay for others (with neat handwriting) to write it for them?
So many rice eaten ! Your wifey loves rice !
Where can we purchase the rice?
When I first watch Ghib SAN’s on screen, he looks like a very cheerful and friendly young man, and spoke only Japanese, I was shocked when I realised his English is this ‘powerful’ on his subsequent video clips.
うちは非常食としてパックご飯置いていて、期限が近づいたら食べてます★
そんなに美味しいパックご飯があるんですね‼️食べてみたい😆
僕らは特に玄米にハマりました。こんなにモチモチした玄米は初めてです😁
Ha freedom to feel uneasy 😂
I once saw a foreigner couple in Tokyo when the lady was putting on manicure on her nails, and the guy was holding the manicure for her. Definitely the first time to see it!!
Would love to see some cooking vlogs again!
What’s you guys’ go-to meal
You are not alone. I am scared of cockroaches and I had gone through NS. I have insect netting to prevent them and other pests like lizards to enter my home.
Ghib you seem to eat a lot but still stay in such good shape. How frequently do you work out?
That's quite a lot of rice for 2 people. Mr Orangutan behind seemed to be enjoying his air-time. Haha!
It's hard not to think about money when many essential things are expensive, like housing, and housing... And perhaps housing. Once you go over that hurdle, then everything is pretty alright.
Oh, and finding a partner to get housing, since you can get better mortgage deals when finding a partner.
I was actually one person who leave my house with freshly washed wet hair. 1 reason being that hair dry naturally seems smoother compared to blow dry (at home; salon different la) I don't do that these days as I washed my hair the night before 😁 Nice video. Your wifey is great too.
Your wife reply 02:32 is 👍. You have the freedom to do whatever you like, I also have the freedom to feel uneasy about your like
I agree. I always feel uneasy to see people’s moles. Moles are disgusting.
Haha Ghib I watched the whole video to catch how you guys met and ended up dating, but that was not answered 😅
Yep, especially when you eat out in restaurants in Singapore u need to get ready to pay extra minimum 17% tax….10% service charge plus 7%(GST-goods and service tax)🤣🤣🤣👍💪
I like this video, can have more?? 😁😁👍👍👍
Interesting conversation, it is nice to know how different Nationality couples feel about each other. Thank you for sharing!
Both of u r soo adorable lah,Jia Yu;)*
sgprean working japanese cuisine abroad here - a coworker showed me natto - or rather how delicious it could be/it looks when he wolfs it down , usually poured over whatever was family meal that day. over warm rice deep soy and a raw egg , theres nothing like it.
also a question - whats the best way for a singaporean to pick up spoken japanese? (sans a tutor) from starts through to intermediate so forth. thought i'd ask as you may understand our diction and linguistic traits etc. thank you in advance arigato gozaimasu g-ojisan / or anyone xx
Actually Orientals (J, K and C ) have more in common than differences. However the differences are magnified due to history, languages and most of all geopolitics.
Yeahh I’m also curious like how you know your wife and how you all get together and end up marriage haha.. and also how u all used to each other living lifestyle etc
Any recommendation for seikihan? I bought it once fom Japan, the raw rice with condiments. Missing Japan.
where you buy the monkey from? i’m interested
It is my hope that one day your wife will agree to appear on screen. That would be very popular episode.
I ended up feeling hungry after watching this video.
Join SAF Volunteer Corps (SAFVC)!!!
12:40 It's actually quail
wah Ghib the yakimeshi using instant rice is a good idea, i only buy Koshihikari , only eat japanese rice,, but this instant i will try it,, oishi so,,, natto wa tabenai kedo hehe,, Next week wa,, Shin nen Omedetoune, Yo i otoshi o,,, Ghib n Family ,, Huat Ah,, 👍✋😬🍺🎊🎉..
rice not available in singapore yet?
It'll be available soon! Will update the description box when available
I loved Japanese food especially its tidbits. Not only they taste good but the packaging are top notched. That's why u bother to wrapped the presents so nicely. It's in-grained in your culture.
How did u meet your wife?
The monkey damn cute sia :3
Maybe you should do a episode with your wife friends who have serve ns and see your reactions or thoughts on it because ns is not just going to the army there’s some in the police and SCDF
let us know when it is in stock, would be nice trying
Have you return back from Germany ???
I know the sequence is messed up but I still have videos in EU coming up!
Hi Ghib, how did you meet your wife? In Japan??
In Singapore when I was traveling!
I'll be interested to try the rice. I've eaten the Korean ones and I do like the purple rice they have. The brown rice looks similar and would love to try. Look forward to more sharing on Jap food items. I'm a huge fan and not being able to visit Japan is not helping 😅🤣
Interesting concept - always a potential minefield LOL
11:45 lol. your wifu...... reveal your secret......... so funny.....
you can get a window fly/mosquito screen for your window, but it will cover the beautiful view from outside.
Gald your wife has finally decided to join u in your videos in her real voice. Perhaps we will get to see her face soon too. Keep this new style coming.
Eager to see her face😅🤣😂
ikr like how to find this type of SG woman in 2 years o.o
hi
was wondering, as ghib is diligently learning chinese, is your wife learning japanese?
She occasionally uses app to learn! But can tell she is struggling 🤣
Why use App to learn Japanese when there's a 24 x 7 free of charge native teacher around? 😅
As a Singaporean man who has been to army, I'm the first to flee if I see a cockroach.
NOPE. NOPE. NOPE.
I'm not wearing boots at home. I can't stomp on them.
Same. I am too scared to even stomp on them. I refuse to dirty my shoes with roach juice coz then the shoes become associated with fear permanently. 😂
If only cockroaches become extinct.
Ghib San, I also have a sensitive question to ask you: Why did you choose a Singaporean (foreign) girl to be your wife, instead of a Japanese? Must answer this ok?
Someone I wanted to marry happened to be a Singaporean😁
In one of his earlier videos he mentioned how they met. I think it was while he was backpacking, either in SG or somewhere, and then he met her.
i fix a insects mesh in my house!
Now my house is pests freeeeeeeee
do that ghib!
I don't know any japanese guy who don't expect to be served by their wives or even girlfriends. Frankly I get the feeling they intentionally avoid going home and even bothering to develop a deeper relationship with their partners after marriage. I see you cooking for your wife. You are quite different in that sense and appear to have a good relationship with your in laws.
Ojisan, be part of us, join the voluntary police force to provide safety in spore and protect the country.
Where to buy the instant rice and wagyu and the salted Konbu? Looks so yummy!! Very hungry to watch during my intermittent fasting 🤣
Instant rice is not available in Singapore yet unfortunately. Will update the description box when the rice is available!
Japanese supermarket, and Don Don Donki and Korean supermarket definitely sells Instant rice :)
perhaps can try Medi-Ya too at Millennia walk or the other outlet at Great world Basement. if Don Don Donki dont have it
good good good
The orangutan is the video mvp
I have to say , one thing I don’t like about Singapore is the peer pressure to contribute money for obligatory stuff like colleagues’ birthdays, their grandparents’ funeral etc even though you don’t feel like you know the colleague well. In Australia, it’s more casual, you can contribute any amount if you want to or just write a simple card etc.
I also have to say my first impression of Japanese men is that they are very chauvinistic and expect the women to serve and bring their slippers when they come home from work. And Japanese men comes home from work only when its really late
Huh? In Singapore, you can also contribute any amount you want. Maybe you just worked in the wrong company.
That is entirely dependant on your work environment's culture. It certainly does not happen in my work place. We discretely pass an unmarked envelop around, so no one will know how much others contributed, if at all.
