      It was really well done! I liked it very much. (he mentioned the scale of the objects already) The thing he didn't mention that I missed was a slight focused shadow from the glass, and caustics of course. If you turn a glass like that one upside down on any surface like that it will have 1mm of gap between the surface and the glass, in fact, under any object you set upon a surface there will be a slight gap/shadow line. This is something I've learned over the years is a tiny detail that makes a big difference. But otherwise excellent render/concept!

      I don't understand how a plate glass and cutlery can at all be judged by scale, there are many variations all around the world, the more I think about this being a critique the more it bothers me that they were docked points because of it, ok then how big is a plate ? Definitively can't have small plates I guess they don't exsist ? very confusing to me, I'd argue it's even more clever on the artists part choosing everything in the image has no defined scale irl, that is clever to me.

    Robo in glass definitely deserves more than 2.5/5! It's got great mood and story telling and the robot's quite charming. With that said, the utensils' scale is a bit weird and the levitating spoon on the right bothers me and the glass material is a bit too perfect, but cmon, that's at least 3.5/5.

    • @KaizenTutorials
      @KaizenTutorials  Рік тому +49

      Fair enough! I did really like it. The thing is though with a 0-5 scale things tend to fall on the lower end quicker, as the top notch pieces usualyl only get 4ish out of 5! But you're feedback is noted and I think the creator is happy to hear you like the work! :-D

    I have to disagree about the fog. It's an absolute staple of Swedish landscape photography. However, the lighting through the fog is wrong which makes it feel flat and composited rather 3-dimensional. EDIT: You did mention the flatness.

    • @KaizenTutorials

    Well, about the swedish landscape one, I believe the fog is very much representing the way swedens climate is, depending on time of day, this looks like a relatively early morning render, meaning the fog makes sense, it very much brings it to life, and makes it just feel right.

    • @KaizenTutorials
      @KaizenTutorials  Рік тому

      Thanks for your feedback! I agre that fog can be accurate. I think though in this case it's not pairing up nicely with the scenery. Maybe it needs less blue sky to work? Less saturation even overall? Not sure, but to me ti doesn't feel entirely correct in the way it's presented now!

    Got another issue, your ranking the animations higher then the images, now I can understand the quality of the animations meaning they get a high rank, however where that becomes an issue is the teachers apple parodox, if multiple students all make great looking class projects, but one student did even more with it, you have to judge the quality, not the apple your also given, it's fine to rank effort so long as anything which is lesser isn't ranked as lessor, because at that point you have the paradox, because there was more submitted, should not automatically mean the others submitted without apples or had less, are worse in ranking, quality is what matters not oh it's animated so anything not animated is half as worse. I'm not saying you are doing this, however I am picking up on the fact there is no real way that I can see your not doing that. Why you are not pausing the initial first image of the animation and also ranking that beside the others, or why animation isn't its own category I honestly don't understand.

    • @KaizenTutorials
      @KaizenTutorials  Рік тому +1

      Hmm good insights, and maybe it is unfair to judge animation vs. stills. I'd say you can put in more effort and get a better look for a signle frame though. So comparing the 2 is fair because you can get the still to always look better than the animation. But thanks for the feedback!

    i think you could be more transparent about your biases. It is clear you dislike dark, desaturated and 'moody' renders (and as you could have guessed, i am the opposite), and on both landscape renders you criticized them on what made them great, which is the moodyness, the fog and the lack of vibrant, happy colors. That is not to say, of course, that you are wrong in your tips but it was clear to me that some of these got harsher judgement for their different style, which again is not necessairly wrong, just sad. even though, great video.

    • @KaizenTutorials
      @KaizenTutorials  Рік тому +1

      Thanks for your feedback. I honestly don't like dark and moody at all. Better yet, I actually prefer it. The thing with dark and moody is that it needs to be done well for it to work and the setting it's in should work for the vibe. Using a blue, clear sky and going for moody just dont work together. So I'm not looking at this from any type of prejudiced manner, I just look at this from a 'realism' standpoint. But to be fair I could've specified my feedback to be more geared towards the image provided and instead of leaning on one side (a blue sky) lean on having to change the sky to keep e.g. the fog in.
