Darbuka lesson- Basic Instruction doumbek technique

Frank Lazzaro of Darbuka Planet explains and demonstrates basic darbuka drumming technique, including proper playing position, and the three basic sounds, " Doum, Tek and Ka". Specific attention is given to creating the "Ka" stroke, as many beginning drummers struggle with this technique. Also shown is how to create a basic drum roll and the popular Middle-Eastern drum rhythm Maqsum.
