I've got these Arteza brush pens & find them really easy to use, & I'm certainly no expert. I still have issues blending but that's my issue, not the pens. You've given me a few tips that I think will make it easier to get a nice blend.
I got the 48 pack for Christmas and I do not know how to use them correctly but you helped a lot

Hi Ashley! Great review of the Arteza brush pens on various surfaces. I love your brush case- a great way to keep them organized. Smart idea to add a swatch to each marker top. I agree with you- the Bristol Smooth paper looks great.

Great information Ashley! I don't have the Arteza markers, but I have the Zigs and I think a lot of the info you shared can be said of the Zigs as well...especially when it comes to the types of paper. TFS!

I've had my markers for a year and a half and I never really used them I have the 48 pack
I use my husbands iPad to watch UA-cam, so I’m not John richard I’m his wife Katz. I loved this video on the Arteza watercolor brush pens! I have subscribed to your channel after watching! Thank you for your review. I just bought the 96 set. I also have the same mermaid stamp sets you have. I am just starting out. I tend to use my ink pads as my color medium for stamping. I can't wait to get my 96 colors!

I have the Arteza 96 set and I was somewhat regretting it but watching this, I want to try again because I kept getting harsh lines. I use a water brush but fill it up and it was difficult working with that, I'm going to try your method. I like using recollections paper from Michaels because it blends nicely but does pill if you use too much. I also tried Canson multipurpose watercolor paper and it's just horrible. lol Doesn't blend at all. Thanks for your video, you've given hope for these markers again lol
I would highly recommend getting the Bristol Smooth paper!

When you go to Arteza.com these markers are less expensive than they are on Amazon. Arteza also have additional coupon codes on or around a lot of different holidays. Sincerely Katz Baugh
I have not tried Arteza, but with my ZIG's I dip the brushes directly into water to dilute the watercolour ink. See if it works with these?

I’ve heard that it damages the markers. I’d avoid it with these markers if possible.
I did the same thing to the caps of my set! I got the 96 set for Christmas from my parents and it came with a fabric carrying case that uses elastic loops to hold them and if I put them in with the caps up it was hard to find the colors I wanted, so I hole punched swatches 1 at a time and glued them to the caps

Hey Ashley, I have been watching you from almost since you started making videos, & I have watched this one a few times because I was interested in the markers. I have purchased them, swatched them out & I have been practicing with them. They are beautiful but I’m having a little trouble with them & I was hoping you could help me. I’m using the Bristol smooth & I have embossed my images, but I’m have problems with the color bleeding outside the lines & this is using both straight color & adding water. What am I dong wrong?
I love watching you work & your card are real wonderful. You are very talented. It’s been fun watching you grow.
It’s hard to tell what could be going wrong without watching you color but my best guess is you might be oversaturating the paper. If you keep the marker tip on the paper in one area too long it could add too much ink and bleed. Are you using Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper?
Ashley Tucker thanks so much for getting back to me. Yes I am using Bristol smooth, but I would not be surprised that I may be to heavy handed. I’m headed to a retreat starting Thursday where practicing with my markers is one thing I have planned to do. Love your work, & it looks like you are being noticed by people who can help advance your card making & UA-cam career. It’s so fun to watch some one such as you that has such wonderful talent. I colored with the marker on paper, used a hole punch to cut a small circle out, and glued the circle to the top. It takes time to do but has been wonderful for me.

I have a question that only the texture of the paper is not able to mix the colour well , or the brand of the paint brush .. 🤔🤔??

Great video! Very helpful! I was about to give up. It's the paper I'm using I think. I use vellum type Bristol paper. Maybe too much water. I think putting it down on a mat first will be better. I do it with markers I don't know why I didn't think of it. What color did you on that little mermaids skin. I do love Artezas products.
I’m not sure what color I used on the skin (it’s been a little while) but I believe it’s either Pale Skin or Fair Skin. Or possibly both 😄
...What about the paper Arteza supplies for the pens? Would that work?
I've never had any success with these markers no matter what paper I use. They just don't have much "juice." Could my set be defective? Is there a way to reactivate the ink? I love the results you get, but it just doesn't work for me. Do you have any advice? Thanks.

I can’t be sure if the zigs would fit because I don’t have them but I assume they would. With the Arteza markers there is a little room still in the space and I believe the barrels on the zigs are just a little bigger. The case is intended for Tombow Dual Brush markers which are a decent size.

I got the case and they do indeed fit!!!! Too bad they don’t go in cap first so the colors are visible. Oh well. It is a great fit. I’m going to use your idea and do a little color swatch on the end. Thanks so much. Take care.

Sadly I don’t believe they can be purchased individually, at least not in the US.
You said you had started with the 48 but now have the 96. Are these different colours or do some of them double up. I hope you don't mind the questions. I'm thinking of gifts as well.

I have not tried the paper they sell but I have heard it doesn’t work as well as the Bristol Smooth. Not sure about synthetic fabrics.

Hi I have the 48 pack and they color really well but I cant seem to get the colors to blend at all. I am using a regular coloring book and the pages are not watercolor could that be the issue?
Yes! I have found that it is very important what kind of paper you use with these markers when it comes to blending. The Bristol Smooth gets the best results because the surface is so smooth that the ink sits on top for a little while before it absorbs into it and this give you time to move it and blend it.

Hi, I have gen crafts brand. I dont know anything about watercolor. I noticed you call them markers. Can these brush pens be used on coloring books? Thank you in advance
I wouldn’t recommend these markers for coloring books, they most likely wouldn’t work well.
I use them in my coloring books and they work fine. Best if you don't have an image on the backside but if you do you can paint a layer of transparent gesso on the page you are coloring and it will be perfect.

It's really hard to continue hearing your heavy breathing into your mic😣. Can you please work on that? I'd love to keep watching your videos and hear your voice over with all the product details. However this particular video was very hard to sit through...I had to mute it and then that made no sense so I just lowered the volume. Just some constructive feedback is all😊. Are they refillable?
Sadly they are not refillable, but I have had mine for over a year now and none of them have run out of ink so far. Hope this helps!

Great information! I love my Arteza markers. You can usually google an "Arteza Coupon Code". The highest working one I found at this moment is for 15% off currently CCAUSE15 . Well, it's obvious that you won't be able to blend watercolour pens on paper that is not for watercolours. Use diffrent pens for your cards.
