I just love what you do with color - it's incredible! You really grabbed my attention when you added the water with brush - wooo those colors blend so beautifully. Thank you for the tip on how to avoid any color of poo- baby, teenager, adult, cat, dog, etc. Great ideas and I so appreciate them all.
First of all, thank you for this awesome video! I have bookmarked it so I can re-watch it again sometime. I have a bad cold right now so concentration is a challenge. I have these markers, and absolutely love them! I love the way they blend so easily, I love the colours, and I love that they are 'real' brush markers. I also like that you can get a very fine line, or a thicker line just by using different pressure on the brush. I just LOVE everything about these markers!! That Hibiscus stamp is great and the way you coloured it was beautiful! Many thanks for sharing your awesome talent! 🙂
I bought a 4 pack of Zig pens to try them out - didn't want to commit until I'd tried them - and then bought a set of 48 because I simply fell in love with them. Now I wish I'd gotten the 80 count set! I wanted to thank you, though, for showing me how to use them to their fullest! You're a wonderful tutor :)
I've seen these before but never appreciated their beauty until I saw what you did in this card. The watercolor nature shines and now I want to try these beautifully pigmented markers!
Finally I am ahead of the crafting curve on SOMETHING. . . Lol! I have had these markers for about 4 years, and although I have loved them,I never appreciated them as much as I have these past few months. First the planner enthusiasts got into them, and now folks like yourself are showing such great techniques with them! I have to admit, I bought them by mistake when I first started crafting. I had watched a video with someone coloring with another Zig marker, and when I went to order what I thought I wanted these where what I got. At the time I was frustrated by the brush tip because I was new enough to art that I couldn't control it, but now I love them and can honestly say that four years in they are still going strong, the colors are still juicy and bright. I hope that helps someone else decided whether to purchase them or not. I think they are wonderful and will probably add to my collection. Thank you for the wonderful video, your instruction is always helpful and I certainly don't want to create "baby poop" brown. . . Lol!
I have been very happy with how they have held up, especially considering that I probably wasn't too easy on the brushes at first because I didn't know what I was doing! They seem to be a very good product, as are most Kuretake products I have tried. I think you will be quite pleased with them as you continue on using them. Thanks for always being so inspiring with all you and teach.
Maureen Hayes Wow, you got them 4 years ago. I thought they were brand new. I am just seeing videos on this. Saw one last night on another channel. They are amazing. I want them so bad.
Thank you for showing this inspiring technique - I have the basic set of 12 and I like to use them. Your tips and techniques will make it much more rewarding.
I love your video and your delightful sense of humor. Just bought a set of 24 and as a non-watercolorist there may be hope at last as these are so easy to use. So appreciate your teaching!
I am so glad that you featured these pens! I am on a watercoloring kick right now. I just order the 60 pen set last night and I can't wait to try them.
Christine was right just go for it, it is nice to see you make mistakes and explain why they happened and I personally like knowing that even great artists make mistakes. Thanks for sharing.
Oh dear! I think I am going to have to have some of these. Your card is beautiful. Thanks for giving you opinion on these and for the tips with blending. Appreciate all you share.
I enjoyed your video! It made me want to finally get out the "hundreds " of pics of our 2 week vacation in Hawaii!! I need to find the stamp. And then I won't have any excuse not to scrapbook them! You are very talented & Very pleasant on your videos! Keep up the good work & continuing inspiring the rest of us!👏👏👍
Wow! I have these markers and never knew how to use them correctly. Thank you so much for the explanation and demonstration. I get it, now to practice.
Sandy!! I've had a small collection of these for over a year and no idea how to use them! Thank you for all the tips I'm going to try it on watercolor paper. Once it didn't work well on regular cardstock I kinda put them aside. So inspired!!
Amazing video Sandy. You made every thing so clear and effortless. It was a joy watching the flowers come to life. Thank you for sharing your expertise
Very nice Sandy and thank you for letting us see it in real time and the finish..I learned a lot from your experiments and do so appreciate it. Thank you for being you pat
I love your card and how the flowers look veiny! Love your music, also. It always goes so well with whatever you are doing. I want to try those markers!
Very, very nice! I love that you're not afraid to share your "learning curve". The education one gets from watching you is priceless. Thank you for making me a better crafter... :)
Perfect timing! I just succumbed to Jennifer's enabling (and, of course, went overboard to get the biggest set I could find) a couple of days ago and ordered the 60 pen set. I could only find it available imported from Japan so I appreciate being able to enjoy them vicariously through you and pick up some tips while I await delivery. Thank you so much for sharing your talent.
Oh boy, now I want these pens! Your videos are always very well done and instructive. Thank you so much for sharing your impressive talent... I always learn so much.
Sandy, Sandy, Sandy, I know this tutorial is like around 5 years old, "BUT" When you said you was going to do each flower in different colors, Oh my "😭❤🤣I LOVE THEM ALL😭😭😭🤣😁❤❣ I truly couldn't tell you which one is my favorite one, "Their all Gorgeous"🥰❤❣ Now I need to see what I can live without the rest of this month and yes probably next month also, SOooooo! That way I can buy as many as possible "😅😂😁🤣😃😆😄😅 LMBO" And that's okay also cuz I'm single so I just have to spoil my baby Bella (🐶🐾) and myself 🥰😊❣ Oh and your little Hawaii music that you played it made me feel like was really is Hawaii 🤭Giggling 🤭😉! Thank You Sandy for filling my heart with a big smile every time I watch your tutorials. Sending Blessings your way ❤❣
Thanks for sharing Sandy. After watching you and several others put these brush pens into action, I now understand how they function and if they are worth the investment for me. I am now eager to get my hands on them!
Oh! I have these pens and they frustrate me so much, but this video helped! I'm pretty sure I'm using way to much water to moisten the paper first. And I ADORED your song choice!
I am so glad I ran into your channel. Will definitely be subscribing. These are beautiful. I love that you didn't rehearse this ahead of time but just dived right in and thought we could all learn together. Love it!!! Thanks so much.
I actually have the 36 pen set for these markers. I wasn't quite sure what to do with them... But after I watched your video I understood and they worked great ! I highly recommend using these if u love art and watercolor, they are a little pricy but they work great and last a long time.😀😀😀
Gorgeous card Sandy, I love it. I have just got a set of SAI markers but I think I am going to have to get these. A lovely watercolour effect but with a bit more control. Thank you x
This is beautiful! Thanks for sharing ways that worked and what didn't. Just got the big set and need to figure out how I can best use them in my projects!
I don't just like this card - I love this card and technique! I am going to have to try some of those markers - I just can't get enough of the transparency they seem to have ☺️ As always, thank you for sharing.
OMG I am so in love with your work. You have cost me alot of $$ today LOL I purchased this stamp and alot more. I have some watercolor brush pens that I had pur. They are not Zig but I will play with them and see what comes from them chased from awhile back. Never really used them. I just took them out and will be awaiting some new stamps to play with
at 10:08 the footage repeats the yellow flower coloring. Flowers look fantastic. I have some of these and look forward to trying some of this on my images
Thank you, this is a much better review than the one Jennifer McGuire did. I too was excited to rediscover this product but only bought 1 to try for starters. I read most of the reviews for these on Amazon and it seems that most people like them for their "portability." Other than that, they really are not any different from any other marker in the sense that you can always lay down color on an acrylic block and pick it up with a water color brush to paint with. Several people have mentioned liking the Tombow markers better after trying these but have not mentioned the reason why. The Zig colors are very bright. I know when you buy the complete set of Tombow markers, there are at least 3 shades of each color, do the Zig pens come in various shades of the same color as well?
It's 1:30 am and I am watching your wonderful video. But I learned so much that I hope that I retain this in the morning. It was great. Thank you for sharing this. My zigs should arrive this week sometime. ..
Thanks for making me giggle...baby poo brown! I don't know why that isn't a real watercolor technical term. I'm fairly certain everyone has seen baby poo and manufactured some of it themselves!
Sandy you used 8 different markers for this and blended some of the colors, does the 12 pack that you have contain all the colors that you used on this? I love this card and I am definitely going to get some of these markers
It's easier to blend on the watercolor paper because the texture of the paper creates micro pools where the paint remains liquid and therefore easier to mix and blend with another shade applied immediately after........
Was thinking about buying these pens. You answered many of my questions. I think I will try a small set first. Also new to stamping, and found the post it tape idea really neat. Where did you purchase the tape from. Thanks much.
Sandy Allnock Thanks! I have the 36 piece set of Gansai Tambi paints, but I thought something like this would require less table space since I know the classes are pretty full already. I'm intrigued by these anyway, so perhaps I'll just go on and pick up a set and bring both in my bag to class. LOL
Hi and Happy New Year 🎈🍾🥂.. I see I am about two years late seeing this video. These markers from what I can see are quite popular. I intend to get a set. The coloring is quite awesome 👍🏽. Awesome video Sandy Allnock the flowers are gorgeous with those little veins of color!!
I love your video and your delightful sense of humor. Just bought a set of 24 and as a non-watercolorist there may be hope at last as these are so easy to use. So appreciate your teaching!

Love this tutorial esp as I sit here in Hawaii with hibiscus flowers in the background. Thanks for sharing. Beautiful
I enjoyed your video! It made me want to finally get out the "hundreds " of pics of our 2 week vacation in Hawaii!!

Thanks for sharing Sandy. After watching you and several others put these brush pens into action, I now understand how they function and if they are worth the investment for me. I am now eager to get my hands on them!
These are beautiful. Finally, a product I don’t want. Thank you for sharing. You’re the #1 influencer now on UA-cam. You’re beating Jennifer McGuire.
Ha! Not likely. 😂😂😂
Sandy Allnock I’d certainly say so. You have a broader artistic range. Being modest is so cute on you. lol
Thank you--I love how you colored these flowers. Great tips for color mixing, too. I always learn something from your videos!
I see this is old but very good!! Im a beginner so these old ones are the same as new! Nice job, very well explaining and besutiful flowers! Thc

Beautiful painting, beautiful music!

I can't paint. Like at all - I'm terrible! But I loooove markers and marker pen art. These markers are beautiful! I'm so tempted to get them aha
Lovely card. I must check out the link for these pens. Thanks, Sandy!
Hihi, new subscriber here. I just had to stop in and say that this is a great tutorial. I am looking forward to seeing more.
this paper is very pretty
That is beautiful!
Thank you, blending is tricky, thank you for the tips.

Beautiful. Must check out these markers. Thank u
This looks cool
I need to buy some of these....
Sooo pretty!
Tina Pike hiiii.....
Sandy you used 8 different markers for this and blended some of the colors, does the 12 pack that you have contain all the colors that you used on this? I love this card and I am definitely going to get some of these markers
Darn it Sandy now I need another set of markers.
A trick : watch series at Flixzone. Me and my gf have been using them for watching a lot of movies lately.
@Colin Braden definitely, have been using Flixzone for years myself :D
Maravilhoso. Lindo demais.
It's easier to blend on the watercolor paper because the texture of the paper creates micro pools where the paint remains liquid and therefore easier to mix and blend with another shade applied immediately after........
It’s pretty
Cool technic!
I saw someone using them on bristol board doing tip to tip coloring and they blended outward - really well. Believe it was posted by Waffle Flower.
Well you ever do a comparison video on different water color brushes? I've seem like 5 different brands and don't know which to buy.
Amanda Wong I'm working on that right now...waiting on a few that are on mail order too.
Sandy Allnock yea! Thank you! :D
Very pretty
Was thinking about buying these pens. You answered many of my questions. I think I will try a small set first. Also new to stamping, and found the post it tape idea really neat. Where did you purchase the tape from. Thanks much.
Christine Bell I got it here: salln.net/1eXgwwz
I think about buying these pans
Beautiful! Have you used tombow markers and do you find that they work as well as the Zig Clean color? thank you
+Deborah Anne I have a bunch of videos with them (search my channel for Tombow). Like them better than zigs I think.
Purple and red are the hardest colors to blend
What flower stamp did you use? Love that flower stamp and the watercolor brushes.
It was a hibiscus from Technique Tuesday - but I'm guessing they're gone. It was from their monthly special stamp series.
very nice.
using a water brush helps w/ those trickier colours.
Sandy Allnock - Would these pens works for the watercolor classes I'll be taking from you at Stamp Fever in August?
TheDailyMel hmmm I hadn't though about anyone using markers...but maybe they would!
LOL
TheDailyMel I'll be there too! And was thinking the same thing!
Hi and Happy New Year 🎈🍾🥂.. I see I am about two years late seeing this video. These markers from what I can see are quite popular. I intend to get a set. The coloring is quite awesome 👍🏽. Never mind... I found it online..thank you.
Sorry - missed out on getting your answer quick enough! :)
Sandy Allnock ... No worries sweet pea. I did find it on eBay at a much cheaper price. 🤓👍🏽🌹
I think founding the Sandy/Jennifer/Kristina/Debbie/Dawn/Kathy-Made-Me-Buy-It Support Group is a good idea. Tell me the truth... You're all card-carrying members of The Enablers Club, aren't you. #byebyepaycheck #soworthit 😏
Christy Beans lol! There is no secret plan to make ya buy all the pens...we just all find the cool toys and wanna share! ❤️
And we love you for it!!!
Hello Sandy, what would be the best paper to use for copics. Love your cards/colouring. Thank you for sharing. Annette
Craft-fun-tastic My fave is Neenah. The 110 is lovely but I usually color on the 80#.
Nice.
Precioso
these pens look tricky. and Im the worst with watercolors. Maybe one day I'll get used to that medium.Anyways, can the final project be sealed so as to not reactivate the inks if it gets wet?
+JodyM you could seal it but I think it'd be more work than it's worth.
+Sandy Allnock thanks for responding. yeah, I wondered. is it the same with the Tombows?
what thickness of card stock are you using? I find when I put any water on cardstock it warps a little. I ordered a 24 pk of zig clean colors a few days ago ... can't wait to receive them!!!!! Donna
+Donna L you're best off using some kind of smooth or lightly textured watercolor paper. Here I think I used Ranger Distress Watercolor Cardstock salln.net/1F5aAYr
tnkx ;)
Очень красиво
Are these different from the Tombow duel brush markers?. The Zig colors seem to be more brilliant.
But, I struggled with a harsh line from Tombow so hoping this won't have the same type of issues. Also, do you use a Fixative before you send out a card with watercolor?
noirprncess They're definitely different - the nib is completely different and the colors stay insanely bright. But there are things that some markers can do that these can't, so it's all a matter of what you want to create. And no, I don't use any fixative. :)
Thanks for this video - I just got some of these brush pens so a great help! What is that music you used whilst painting?? thanks!
Just from a stock site I subscribe to.
So this totally dried when you don’t add water to it?
Hi Sandy, does these markers have refills?
+Nathale Clarke-Lewis nope...
The twin marker version does
Sandy Allnock, what is the difference between "Zig" clean color real brush pens and "Kuretake Fude" clean color real brush pens? I notice that the ones labeled "Kuretake Fude" are less expensive on Amazon. thanks!!
+Pam Legg Pens are coming tomorrow to class and Periscope :)
what kind of paper did you use in the beginning? not for the card.
Canson XL, listed over on the blog. ☺️
Where can you buy individual zig markers I bought a smaller group to see if I like them.... and WOW they are my go to choice now but I don't have a lot of colors. I am afraid if I purchase a larger set I will have duplicate colors. I also like Copic Markers and like that I can purchase them separately.
+Rhonda Schaffer I get individual ones at Ellen Hutson---but zig plans their sets badly and have duplicates.
I found those markers at the store Tokyo
Are the koi watercolor brushes similar to these also?
