I am so happy to have watched this. I was getting very frustrated with mine. The directions say not to dip in the water first, but that was the ticket! Thank you
@@soniastegemann1923 I was thinking the same thing! These brush pens have been out for awhile and this is the best demonstration/tutorial. I can't wait to see more. I'm a new subscriber! 🤗💕
I know Im randomly asking but does someone know a method to log back into an Instagram account?? I was stupid lost the login password. I love any assistance you can give me.
@Vincent Arjun Thanks so much for your reply. I found the site thru google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff now. Takes a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
This video was FIREEEE! I paint with oil and acrylic mediums but this tutorial right here got me thinking about water color now. My daughter was gifted a set of GenCraft Pens. You should make your blank stencils available for download...sell them at $1 as it seems you have a pretty decent following and viewer ship.
Only just found u on UA-cam. Love your work. I’ve been stuck what to do with my pens, wanting to try something different. I also have a dip pen and inks so definitely gona give this style a go. Thank u 💕
I love water colors but have always been too nervous to use them. Your process makes me feel a lot more confident because of the way you build up color slowly 😸
@@soniastegemann1923 of course, you’re welcome! Nice, you did a very great job. I could tell that you gave it some thought & technique so it’s very much appreciated. 😊
This is so awesome!!! I just got some of these markers and had no idea how to use them 😂 do you by chance have a video on how to transfer your print to paper? I’m trying to figure out how to do that. Thanks for the video!
Absolutely awesome! Enjoyed watching your process video with mixture of the digital drawing and then traditional coloring very much and would absolutely like to see more from it every now and then.
I absolutely hate the watercolor brush markers! Mine don’t have enough ink in them to do anything. Totally jealous watching you use your set. Plus, the tips are very raggedy & uneven, so it makes coloring difficult. Arteza customer service was going to send me a new set but then Covid hit & I didn’t get the replacement. I’m going to toss my set in the garbage!
I am rly interested in this ! Plz do make another video on using the brush pen ! It's so good and I loved how you showed us step by step on how to use them - I've been looking for this type of video for ages 😭
Thank you so much for the review of the water color pens. I really love when you do traditional art by the way!💗💗 I appreciate the advice you give not many artists do that. I have been practicing with watercolor and it is messy, but I will definitely buy from Arteza.
I'd be more than happy to see more videos like this from you! The piece came out amazing; those pens are a lot more pigmented and versatile than I would have thought lol
my aunt bought me the 48 pack last year I have tried using them and I just wondered what are all the ways you could use them (the first pack I have the ink barely lasted in a view of the colors so I basically have two now and my mom didn't know my aunt got me that at first so she got me the 12 pack for the same birthday) it was interesting to see the different ways of using it.
Was your paper mounted or just bordered? I'm quite new to these brush pens and don't know how wet they are or what effect they have on the paper. Just want to get everything to get set up properly 👍
I usually use very thin copy paper to trace onto (the cheap kind) so it's easier to see the lines since the watercolor paper already is pretty thick on its own!
I have these waterbrushpens as well! But only the 24 set, I think. I bought them to use in my buletjournal but I didn't realise they're more like watercolours and not a marker, so it didn't really work out for me haha. Seeing you use them like this makes me want to try them like watercolours though! This illustration turned out so cute, I love it!
I REALLY bad when coloring with regular color pencils (altough I have the 150 Prismacolor Premier box, wich I don't really use :( ), I believe the only piece I like is the one that I colored with some cheap watercolors, maybe I'll five these a try :)
Maybe it's because of the paper you are using! You could try watercolor paper that is specifically made for that medium if you are not already! Or try adding the lines as the last step so you can correct any mistakes like that after using the pens!^^
Sorry if this is very frequently asked, I couldn’t find an FAQ for you anywhere. What’s your process of tracing your digital sketch onto your watercolor paper?
I tried drawing Sasuke and when I use the pens it was very what and it made the paper Bend can this be solved just by getting darker paper and also when I tried to do the skin some of the pencil was still there under the ink and the pigment got messed up you know how to fix that.
What did u use to get the white "gloss" Thats on her eyes, nose, shoulder and jewelry? I've been wondering for a really long time because I've tried to use the white that comes with my water colour palette and it doesn't work... is it a white pen or acrylic? Btw your art is so beautiful 😭
I would use paper that is thicker than standard copy paper since they do have some water in them! Any paper that can hold a little water should be fine!^^
I am so happy to have watched this. I was getting very frustrated with mine. The directions say not to dip in the water first, but that was the ticket! Thank you

Awesome, just awesome.
you're probably the only youtube artist whom i've seem to properly demonstrate how to use these!!!! love love love the video! might be getting them !

Beautiful 🥰❤❤❤❤
I've been using these wonderful brush pens for a while now and gotta say that the dipping in water method is best!

Yes same! It really helps to slowly add colors with the pens dipped in so it's less intimidating!^^
Beautiful color build up 💖
It ended up so amazing!!! I love traditional art even though I've been avoiding it like the plague for an year... 😅 Great work, as always
Haha I feel that so much:DD

Thats super clever, these can be tricky without and instructions! And happy birthday!

What kind of paper did you print your line work on to, was it some type of tracing paper, tia.
I usually use very thin copy paper to trace onto (the cheap kind) so it's easier to see the lines since the watercolor paper already is pretty thick on its own!

Not at all!
Sonia Stegemann Oh that makes more sense lol! And of course :D❤️
These were the first markers I ever got, haha didn’t even know they were meant to be watercolor
Haha oh nooooXD
Question. You can refill them with water and they will keep the same color?
Hm no I don't think the markers themself are refillable! You can only use them with water!^^
This was really fun to watch! I never thought of shading first, but it looks so good!!
Thank you!! Yes it's so great for unifying everything and takes off pressure^^
This is so good!! I just got these pens and now I know how to use them! Do you think lining it after using the pens would look ok??

Ugh yes I'm also really bad with them:D I just can't get the same even look as with markers or watercolors which is why I prefer them!^^
what ink wash did you use?
I think I used Schmincke ink! But any dark brown ink would work well for this!:)
@@soniastegemann1923 thanks a lot!
I’ve worked with these a lot but when I use them they bleed SO MUCH outside the lines of everything. I can’t figure out why. Any tips for that?
Maybe it's because of the paper you are using! You could try watercolor paper that is specifically made for that medium if you are not already! Or try adding the lines as the last step so you can correct any mistakes like that after using the pens!^^
Amazing talent! What did you use for the highlights though? The white bits I mean, in the jewellery and the plants?

Aw tysm
Oh man, I've been eyeing these brush pens forever. But I don't watercolor...so why would I need them?!
Well they would be a great way to get the watercolor aesthetic without actually needing and watercolor supplies, these are just markers in a way!^^

Thicker paper. And how to you get close to the lines without going over
