Dean Harrington is the voice of the announcer, Master Hand and Crazy Hand in Super Smash Bros. Melee. MelonSpeedRuns and I contacted him in 2016 about doing some recordings for fans, which he agreed to do at no cost. Sucks too, I like his voice best, even though I can mimic Xander's performance.
@@TheBanishedWind It's because Xander's isn't special and lacks personality. Harrington had many quirks with his pronunciations, inflections, and tone. He was unpredictable. Truly the most unique Smash announcer to date.

I remember when someone got Pat Cashman to do announcer calls for characters in Brawl sometime after it’s release. Hopefully someone can get Jeff Manning to do the same thing for SSB64 voice lines!
That would be awesome. Pat Cashman is actually a family friend of mine! He's done stuff for me in the past, another genuinely great guy. He's also very funny.

Dean Harrington is my favourite Smash Announcer, including while he voices Master Hand, epic. I’m surprised you managed to get him to voice these characters.

20 years later after it’s release on GameCube, this feel like what if most characters could have been in each Smash game or if Dean Harrington stayed in as the Smash announcer just like in different languages! 🤩🥳

@@worldsboss Project M proper used a different VO, these are the same clips from Legacy XP and other PM mods, just mastered differently. MelonSpeedRuns and I contacted Dean himself, so they're legit.

Lol, yeah that make take a bit. But many of them are playable in Melee-inspired Brawl mods like Smash 2. Even Akaneia has Charizard, Diddy Kong, and Wolf in Melee.
I was gonna add Toon Link into Melee but I gave up, but this gave me more confidence to do it. Thanks!

Smash Legacy XP and PMEX Remix announcer
i played only the smash bros 64 and brawl, but i never played melee, i saw various videos about the game and always find it awesome: the gameplay, the style design and comunity, they show an inmense love to this game.
i really hope in a future i come to play it.

Dark Samus needs to be in Melee Akaneia
Amazing job! One nitpick I have (and this is the most nitpick-est thing ever) is that Ryu’s SF4 model (I think it is SF4) I don’t really think really fits Melee but that is so minimal and really don’t matter in the grand scheme of things.
Thanks, yeah I'm not really too familiar with Ryu as a character. I tried to find era-appropriate portraits as much as I could, but I just don't have that level of knowledge with some of these characters lol.
@@davidvkimball oh! Then that explains a lot then. I just realized that Ryu really only had a 3D model in the EX series before and during the time of Melee and even then, not sure if there is any good pic of Ryu’s EX3 model to use as reference.

@@davidvkimball Yea, it would be very hard in terms of Street Fighter. Not sure if the Street Fighter EX3 models would be available but I have my doubts. Though speaking of fighting games, I know for a fact that Kazuya’s Tekken Tag 1 model I think would be a good fit for a Melee mod one of these days
I just realized that a I recognize a lot of these from legacy xp. That's pretty cool that legacy XP actually uses the Melee announcer, makes it feel even more like the quintessential melee sequel

Not yet, but it's easily replaceable with m-ex.

Omg... Even the original voice actor has return to give more impressive voice clips for extra characters, but unfortunality of course because of the age and inspiriation of the making, this doesnt feel the same vibe like in 2001 but still very amazing

Not gonna lie, that was pretty good. I can hear the announcer names for Wario, Diddy Kong and King Dedede! That's what would've look like if Wario (or Diddy Kong) was in Melee while Bowser and Dedede were added early in Smash 64 before making their return to Melee. Mewtwo, Marth, Roy and clones were still added like it was originally planned (with Ganondorf have a Forward Tilt, Forward Aerial and Forward Smash with his sword). As for Black Shadow, he would've been a newcomer in Brawl in the place of Dedede (who appears in Smash 64). Dark Samus will be a Semi-clone of Samus in Smash 4 before Ultimate, the same applies to Kazuya who was a DLC in Smash 4 before Ultimate while Corrin was announced after Kazuya in Smash 4. Waluigi would then finally be a Newcomer in Ultimate after his appearance in Mario is Missing on SNES, Wario Land Shake it! and WarioWare Gold, not just the Mario Spin-offs. Blood Falcon can be a Echo Fighter of Captain Falcon in the same game. Either Crash, Dr. Eggman, Kasumi (DOA) or Shantae will be the be the fifth DLC for Fighters Pass Vol. 2 before Sora and Byleth will be the second DLC for Fighters Pass as she swap places with Hero who was the fifth DLC. That's for my vision for the different timeline. 😀 Although for my another take, Diddy Kong was playable in Melee while Wario is in Brawl like it originally was, Porky Minch was a fighter in Smash 4 instead of Dark Samus who was in Ultimate as planned, Hitomi (Dead or Alive) will be DLC for Smash 4 while Kazuya is in Ultimate.

Why anime characters?! Sakurai specifically said Smash is a celebration of gaming and not anime characters, movie characters, cartoon characters, etc. That's also why he didn't allow James Bond in Smash because he's from a movie franchise.
