For this to work on controller it's slightly more complicated you have to hold forward on the control stick while pushing the cart before dropping it or it won't work.
Nice. Reminds me of ocarina of time's infinite sword trick. It's done in a similar manner where Link needs to be interrupted while swinging the sword. This freezes the sword in the swung state while Link still moves allowing for the sword to continuously inflict damage on anything it encounters. Sort of the same premise here where you interrupt Chuck's current state but the game still thinks he's invincible from being on the skateboard. Great video! I'll definitely give that a try.
