@noahnipperus7320 I like Clowncore. I find the comical metal style over top of jazzy rhythmic elements and crazy sax solos to be just outside of the box enough to be intriguing. I can't say I'm a big fan of Knower, but I can appreciate the talent. If you want another great drummer to check out, try J.D. Beck. Him and his friend Domi on keys do some really crazy stuff. And if we're talking about drummers, Aric Improta's Blue Lights in the Videodrome is probably one of the greatest performances ever. You'll see things you've never seen or heard before. As for Zach Hill, I'm a big math rock fan. Although I never really enjoyed Hella. Big Don Caballero fan, though. I think Damon Che, their drummer, does a very interesting thing by playing the lead with his drums. Also, since you mentioned mathrock tangentially, Lavaland by Piglet is the best math rock album of all time. Imo, of course.
@BTSizzleTV Accounts like that gives TOOL fans a bad rep. I love TOOL so much, but not everything needs to be about them. It’s a Meshuugah video, filled with Meshuggah fans, it’s about Meshuggah
I love this because it arguably sounds even more dissonant than the original. The atonality of distortion and metal vocals do a lot to hide some of the clashing but with such clear instruments, and especially these because they have such instant attack and decay per note, none of the maddening dissonant note choices have anywhere to hide. Also really shows how well meshuggah writes because even though this sounds like queue outside the gates of hell is absolutely gorgeous
This is insanely good! I Love Messhugah, what a creative idea and absolutely nailed the execution. Kudos to the composer and musicians for this amazing performance. Can't help but think Meahuggah would really appreciate this, I hope they see it!
Making Meshuggah sound like Steve Reich. I love how this all came together, the arrangement is fantastic and the performance is tight. I only hope we’re lucky enough to see more interesting arrangements from this ensemble!
Dear Percussion Ensemble, you are making such pleasure for us the Djent fans. Your cover of Dancers brings bizarreness, creepiness and hidden beauty in completely different and unrecognized ways than original song....... and I really enjoy it.
This is one of the most authentic Meshuggah cover I ever heard. 5:44 gave me goosebumps and solo part what was an impressive interpretation is that 🤯 and after that 7:50 I couldn’t hold myself to headbang. Outro was amazing also. How talented you are guys, I wish I was there. I would be very glad to see more Meshuggah cover from you. Just hats off 👏🏻
This is my favourite messhugah song and this might be my favourite version of it. It really does the original justice while doing something totally unique with it.
Respectfully. It sounds like spooky crash bandicoot music. I love it. Really great job! It just goes to show the musical composition in the original track. Having it transposed to a percussion ensemble is proof.
Had the opportunity to arrange for a high school percussion ensemble like ten years ago, it was a very very interesting experience, there so much you can do with percs only, I was very surprised! It must have been a blast arranging this song, I really loved listening to it!
that banger came up, i then missed the last subway station i was going to take and endet up alone in the subway at an dead end/buffer stop. felt somewhat dreamy!
Wow! Where to start… First of all, great work! This is the last thing I would expect to hear from a concert percussion group. Not only is this from an insane band but this is one of their deepest cuts. This song is so incredible. It’s too bad most people would never sit through the ten minutes of it, but they should! I’ve been playing drums to this for years and I’m still not at %100. There’s a section in the middle where the drummer quits playing the quarter notes but the snare is still on 3, while the other hand plays accents with the guitars. Anyway, good stuff and great performance!
That had real presence, to the point where I had goosebumps multiple times. I've loved the song for probably a decade now, and it's great to witness a more accessible variant !
god i bet this would have gone crazy to hear in person. just every note swirling around in your head... so awesome... ..sidebar but if anyone wants more of this "mostly/entirely percussion" metal, the band botanist mostly uses hammered dulcimers and a bass guitar. theyre so fucking cool.
This is simply SUPERB! BRAVO! What a treat! everyone played effortlessly and perfectly. There’s a band called glass beams that’s taking a lot of inspiration from Indian and middle eastern sounds that would also translate to this ensemble! Would love to see another Meshugga cover in the future! Keep up the amazing work
Thank you!! If you want more, I wrote a snare drum solo to accompany I Am Colossus by Meshuggah. You can check it out here: ua-cam.com/video/7KBYfcE1fZg/v-deo.html

The amount of time invested in learning, arranging and then performing this piece needs to be acknowledged.

Cyriak! The legend!
Simply tremendous. I love how you can tell which members are the most metal by how animated they play when the heavy bits kick in.😂
I love every time they go from a relatively mellow or downbeat part to an aggressive beat and they start really smacking the drum
