I searched "Clocks in Motion" because I wanted to watch a clip about Einstein's theory of special relativity. Ended up here, happily. Subbed, this music is beautiful.
Marimba 3: The designated driver of the ensemble.
Brad Williams The most important part. She has all the bass notes. And the only 5-octave.
@@paulgering7703 Especially most important from 4:23 to 6:22
@@spookiedukey I agree having better tires on a car does help the car drive.
A perfect example of how even the simplest parts in a piece can make a difference: at 3:07 when the marimba 3 part enters with the low end eighth notes is probably my favorite part and every other time when she does that. Gives me goosebumps
well its not just her, the entire ensemble changes as well at the same time she comes in to create that effect
😊
I saw you guys perform this live tonight, and it was beautiful. Still is here.
+Sarah Thanks Sarah! So glad you liked it!
30,000 of these views are by me.
I approve bro.
And the other 124,115 are by me.
ha get a load a this nerd
jk bro i love this kind of music and by extension anyone who listens to it
marimba 3 is when you go to play with your older friends and your mom tells you to take your younger sibling with you
Pretty fantastic. The section from 3:00 to 4:00 is particularly lovely. An impressive piece and an impressive performance.
Incredible piece and flawless execution. The dynamic changes are on point
I played this piece with four good friends my senior year of high school. Such a good piece. It’s a tricky piece, I won’t lie, but it’s so good
i've come back to this video countless times, something about it just leaves me captivated
I love the switch to 5/8 😍😍
I'd be the one in the back with the eighth notes.
There are two versions of this piece, one of the way they're playing it with the third marimba. And the second version is just two vibs and marimbas. If you choose to buy it, then you get both versions no matter what!
Antonio Morra what’s the difference between them? Harmony just split differently?
Swampfire after watching this version and Marc Mellon’s version(he plays with the 4player part) there is no difference in terms of different rhythms for each part. The bass marimba is added for timing and consistency.
Martin Reid honestly same
Actually, the one in the back has the most important part, I think. She’s got the 5-octave with all the bass notes.
To this day, my favorite example of how stacked rhythms even repeatedly can produce amazing sounds and small changes can set a tone
I closed my eyes and I traveled, listening to pulsations and grains of time, harmonic sequences in a controlled fall. Thank you for this beautiful music.
Wow! A fantastic piece and a mesmerizing performance!
Thanks Andrew! It is a very fun piece to play. Glad you enjoyed the performance!
Fantastic music from Marc Mellits ! love it! Great perfomance
amazing notes and also the players
I am loving this!
Beautiful piece, wonderful performance. So soothing...
gorgeous!
Perfect .... everything is on point keep up the great work!😃😃😃😃😃😁😁😁🍄🍄
BRAVO! Fabulous in every way. Earned my add.
I almost cried. That’s so beautiful.
what a joy to watch every single one of you and which sounds it makes.
thank you !
❤👍
Thank you, Clocks and God bless Marc for his gift to us.
Tantalizing and enchanting.
Really beautiful piece. Reminds me of Glass' Aguas de Amazonia, which is among my favourites contemporary compositions. Will definitely check more stuff out from your channel
Incredible!
Beautiful.
This is so beautiful
My percussion ensemble just preformed this and it is probably the most beautiful piece I have heard
Stunning
Haunting yet relaxing...
The part of my brain where Phillip Glass and Tubular bells lives is on fire . You are amazing , thank you !
Yeah
belíssimo som! perfeita execução ! Adorei!
While I understand that every part is important and you shouldn't feel bad for a playing a part that is objectively easier, I still would hate to be that poor girl on marimba 3 back there.
She had the coolest part tho
She was the one who was creating the balance between everyone
She probably is the most important person though. She accents the notes and provides the metronome. I'm sure no matter how hard they tried, they would mess up at least once without her part. I understand the feeling though. I've been that person multiple times.
Now I on the other hand would be thankful to be her , hehe. I should sure mess up the other ones!
@@thetraveler1230 I played this piece with an ensemble a few years back and that third marimba part is so important, but it’s also repetitive enough that it’s easy to get lost in the music if it’s not entirely memorized.
Wow magical.
Love it
Really quite beautiful~ glad I found your percussion piece. Writing for percussion is something that has been challenging for me as everything sound good and I want to have a smorgas board of sound to work with. I like that you limit yourself to marimbas and vibes and develop your piece using limited instrumentation. Well done :)
Amazing!!!!!!
Just......Amazing
Seemed like a really strange "recommendation," but I enjoyed it thoroughly. Anything musical gets my attention. Bravo!
Increible!!
An absolutely flawless execution. Amazing.
what a fantastic piece and performance!
+Edutainment Centre Thanks! It's really fun to play!
This is absolutely a wonderful composition and execution of such a lovely piece of music. When I listen with my eyes closed magical things happen within...it is very healing. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! I wish for you to be happy, healthy and to thrive :O)
HEAVENLY!
Nice, almost hypnotic music. Well played.
+Ronnie Moore Thanks! Glad you like it!
Erstaunlich,das kommt bei Zusammenarbeit heraus😉
Just... wow!
¡¡¡¡¡MARAVILLOSO!!!
Just WOW!
AWESOME!!
+Beverly Flens Thanks! Gravity is one of our favorites!
Well done, you've played beautifully! I wish I had 8 arms, so I could play some of my own music on these.
Wish I had 8 hands... so I could give this *16 thumbs up.*
@@mellowtron214 that’s... not how thumbs work... is there a joke going over my head?
Mesmerizing.
Amazing
Belissimo!!!! Descobri esse instrumento através de um dos meus filhos , que faz percussão. è encantador..
Very talented and enjoyable.
Piękna muzyka ! WSPANIALE WYKONANA !
Excellent ! Perełka...
Really beautiful ! You got a new subscriber.
Thanks D4Death! Glad you enjoyed the performance. More videos to come soon!
Very psychedelic! I like this sound.
Magical🎈
This is ethereal sounding
woww hermoso.

Lovely🙂
Really liking the tones starting around 3:15.
Told myself I wouldn’t sit through the WHOLEEE 10 but did anyways because w o w
Me gusta mucho
me encanta
Badger mi también
2:59
Best part
@@DeadlyPlays I know right? It sounds like there's tubular bells or a glockenspiel playing. A Beautiful moment
COMPLICATED MATH MAKES ME HAPPY
Trust when you see this live the bass part is the coolest part
How do you learn a 10-minute piece by heart?
Haha try doing 1hour+ long concerts by heart, 10 minutes seems easy after a while! Lots and lots of practice.
Marching bands learn 15 minute performances, with visuals, positions on the field, dynamics, and all, by heart. It's mainly muscle memory, just play the piece over and over, and look at your music less and less, until you have it down.

Musik ist Physik durch wollen ;)
RE-PI-TI-TION!
❤
Belle chorégraphie sonore avec des sonorités parfois proches de celles de l'orgue. Merci !
Wow! I am not sure how they kept up with it all!
We’re learning about this in schoo!!
I get an Interstellar vibe from this and I think it is great
I'll make sure this goes viral
AMAZING. ENCORE. ENCORE.
you are the atoms between the waves in the bell
Curious as to your mallet selection for the piece.
Just saw clockwork perform this song live today at a clinic.
Yoooo I have my music school graduation percussion recital tommorow :DDDDDD
My favorite nuance is the theme from 5:20-6:18ish where the feel is 6/8, and the shift at like 6:21 where the marimba octave theme shifts from 6/8 to 3/4.
edit: In a live performance (or with nice speakers) the bass marimba comes in the second measure, and really underlines the shift
👏👏👏👏👏👏
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
I imagine being on a train, looking out of a window and see the landscape passing by...
0:45 I thought the guy on the right side marimba had no head
YESS WE LOVE THE FOCUSED BACK POSTURE.
(lets be honest every marimbist or keyboardist gets caught doing it)
Does anyone know what type of mallets the orange ones the girl is using are
OHH OHH OHHH! Interstellar! interstellar!!!
was anyone else slightly disappointed they didn't move their marimbas XD
loved your performance though, very stable and strong communication between players~
gonna be honest i was half expecting them to spin around or something
Man when 7:35 hits... so nice.
I wish the woman got to play more, as a female percussionist I always got the smaller parts 😔
holy moly
8:30 to the end. best song ever.
Even though the sheet music costs 100$
that just vibes part and also just marimba is soooo good
ke onda porke la jente toca las tablas con zeriyos
sub No. 700 :)
Everyone add the timestamp to your favorite part! Mine is 3:00 (done mostly so I can skip around when I come back 😅)
Personally, I really like 8:48. 9:41 also.
