I love the decoupaged wood plate. The napkin was beautiful that you used. I don't know where you live, but you are fortunate to have a nice goodwill to buy things from.
Loved the technique of covering the glass vase with floral napkins and decoupage. You asked what you could do differently next time. My take would have been to not use black textured paint with gold buff on it but to leave both off. I would place a candle on the inside so the floral colors and patterns would have shown through. Wouldn’t it be beautiful to use a fall leaf motif napkin using the same technique, placing a candle inside!
I also love using birds in my decor. So much that when my gma/mom passed in June. Still very much grieving. Anyway I order a mini blue bird that has crystals around his neck and tail. It's 2 inches tall 2 inches wide. It's beautiful like my gram
As I’ve gotten older, I much prefer autumn decor/decorations over Halloween. My favorite project is the old broom, it’s so charming hanging out by the fireplace. 🍁
I agree with the above comments...but my thought was just the white paint with a little distressing. I think it depends on where you were thinking of using it. Loved the multiple use of the flannel shirt.❤❤
What if you put the napkin on the inside of the vase with the pattern facing out, then paint the napkin white? Never done it before , but it came to me as I watched the video. I’m always inspired with all your creative ideas!!!
This is my first time watching your channel... I'm hooked! The joy in your voice when you find a deal is adorable! I feel ya haha! Anyways, thank you for all the beautiful, creative projects videos. Time to hit the subscribe button! Stay cozy and Happy Fallidays!
I thought all of the makeovers were great, but my favorite was the decoupaged wood plate. For the decoupage vase (last project), next time put the paper on the inside of the vase, so the pattern can be seen from the outside of the vase through the glass. Then paint the inside of the vase.
I can't begin to tell you how much I enjoyed this video. I was having a rough day, but as I watched the gorgeous items you created and listened to your calming voice and music, I was soothed. Thank you!
You are so welcome! I am so glad you enjoyed it, Judy. I’m sorry you had a rough day. When I was still teaching high school English, I would sometimes come home feeling really down after dealing with student misbehavior. Hope tomorrow is much better for you!
I only discovered your channel and couple of days ago and now I've been binge watching. For one of the videos I saw yesterday, I said, "You must be the most creative person on UA-cam." I continue to be blown away by your ideas, that never turn out to be tacky. You have what is called "an eye." You vision how to pair colours and styles and also how to create a balanced composition, in all that you do. At one time you may have been an English teacher, but you most certainly have the heart and soul of a true artist. Not sure if you ever studied design, but I feel you are a total natural when it comes to creating beauty. I have never been a minimalist and I fully support your "more is more" concept.
Even though some of the things that you make and put in your home are not things that I would want. I still so much enjoy watching you because everything is inspirational. I could use many of your ideas to create things that I would put in my home. And I can watch you forever and watch repeats forever, because you have a very soothing comforting voice. Thank you for sharing your creativity with the world!❤
Every single craft was adorable but I especially liked the Halloween cat hanging with the green lights. It just really caught my eye. I would love to have your ability to see things for what they might become. You have an amazing talent.
Sherry your talent is unmatched, I was feeling so nostalgic after some DIY’s I’m from the 70’s I remember my mother decor back on the days that moss lantern and poem transported me to my childhood!!!! Thank you ❤❤❤❤❤
I love these projects. The clock with the black cat is to cute BUUUUTTTT, lol, I’d had to have saved it for thanksgiving or Christmas. That me though and I’d love to find a clock like that. You have a genius way of turning ordinary into extraordinary! 😊❤
@@CanterburyCottage thank you. Credit should be given when credit is due. I believe in supporting each other and not tearing them down. If I don’t like it, I tend to say “ I prefer this or that”.
For the vase I liked it without the paint and you could possibly put fairy lights in the vase to get a stained glass look. Loved the dark napkins though. If you want to go the paint route, then I think a coat of white first then followed by the black.
Thanks for the suggestion. I am definitely going to try the vase project again and use white paint first! (I just wasn’t sure how it would look behind the black napkins.)
I thank my lucky stars for having discovered your channel. Watching, learning and being inspired by you always adds joy and richness to my day. Thank you! 💗 💗
These projects were so clever Sherry. The moss covered lantern was so sweet and the wood bowel looked so high end and beautiful. The clock turned lighted cat picture was spooky and fantastic. Really liked these projects!
I really love the Autumn poem in the frame with moss all around. The small flannel pocket with the florals is adorable! And the decorated broom is so cute, Sherry! Every project was just amazing. Thank you so much for the inspiration!
Thanks, Sherry, for all the great ideas that don't have to cost a fortune. What I appreciate even more is your masterful video production and editing. You never ramble, stumble, or over explain. It is a real gift to share useful information using the fewest words possible. I'd be curious to see a video of how you produce your videos. Blessings to you!
Wow, thank you! I am thinking of doing a live Q & A video. When I first started, I talked so slowly and lots of viewers complained, so I have spent a lot of time working on making my voice overs succinct! I really appreciate your kind comments, Bonnie!
You out-do yourself with every video!! One tip I learned from another diyer-to remove the extra layers of napkin before decoupaging, use a small piece of rolled tape and press on the napkin. It will pull up 1 layer beautifully-then repeat if there is a 2nd layer. Very easy and neat!
I LOVE EVERYTHING in this video!!! I confess that I love tartan plaid, especially in Fall and Winter decor. You made several wonderful tartan pieces with an inexpensive flannel shirt.....genius!!!!! I would love to see a vase (or anything) decoupaged with the beautiful dark floral napkin facing outward. It's a stunning napkin.
Loved the wooden plate with the decoupaged napkin. That idea is endless and could be made into sets and given as gifts for any number of occasions. I think your might paint the vase a lighter color and that would make the floral stand out. I also liked the door decoration with the cat and pumpkin even though am not a fan of Halloween. I surprised myself on that one and had a Christmas idea for the same application. Loved this video as usual. Bless you sherry
Gorgeous mushroom vase? Love all of your crafts. I have to say though the broken clock turned into a moonlit cake has to be my favorite! I love you so much! You help me get started on my day !
Love love love the clock turned into cat and pumpkin wreath. I’m going to do this for my Xmas wreath this year and exchange it for a reindeer and Xmas tree.
I’m not one to embrace fall, spring, winter n summer. I usually keep everything the same. Don’t get me wrong I used to do all the seasons years ago when my boys were small. Now that it’s just me n Dolly ( my dog) I just don’t have that desire any longer. But oh Sherry, I think this video inspired me so much. I loved the lantern. Adding the moss n other embellishments is something you could use all year around. And finding that cool looking clock n turning it into a window, adding the lights omg I loved that. The cool part you can change it around from fall to summer. Whatever floats your boat. I think that was my favorite. I just can’t get over how you can take something like that mushroom n change it completely. Gosh, wish I had that great imagination. But I have you to inspire me n that’s the best part of all. ♥️♥️♥️😊👍👍👍🌟🌟🌟🌟
Wonderful ideas, Sherry. TFS. Favorites are the shadow box, the pillow and the cat and pumpkin in the clock frame. Thank you, too, for sharing the downloads so we can make our own projects. Have a great day
I love 'moss-mushroom theme' of today! Because you asked, I would say apply decoupage napkins to the 'inside' of the vase instead. After that on the outside of the vase apply some sort of transparent textured art medium {it's thick and comes in a jar like Mod Podge} , it will add texture like you have now but you'll be able to see through it. Over the medium you could tint it a bit with a thinned transparent color, a thin coat of antiquing wax, or some sheer gilding.
Am not a Halloween person but loved the cat plaque. I find your videos so interesting and you are very artistic and clever, Thank you. Have a great day
Love that cat and pumpkin and all you did with flannel shirt. Maybe just leaving base with floral napkins design and no paint would work. Love your work Sherry🎉🎉❤
I love the decoupaged wood plate. The napkin was beautiful that you used. I don't know where you live, but you are fortunate to have a nice goodwill to buy things from.

I'm SO happy I found your channel!! 😍 so many inspiring ideas 💡 love from Sweden ❤
Thank you so much!! I’m so glad you are enjoying my channel in SWEDEN!!!
You sure did a great job on the clock turned Halloween window! I love it. Looks so high-end!
I also love using birds in my decor. So much that when my gma/mom passed in June. Still very much grieving. Anyway I order a mini blue bird that has crystals around his neck and tail. It's 2 inches tall 2 inches wide. It's beautiful like my gram
Genius ideas, really! The cat in the window is so cool!
Sherry, you are so artistic. I don’t know where or how you come up with these ideas but they are fantastic.🎃
So sweet of you, Robin!
Love everything you do! Your videos never disappoint! So much inspiration!
As I’ve gotten older, I much prefer autumn decor/decorations over Halloween. My favorite project is the old broom, it’s so charming hanging out by the fireplace. 🍁
I am the same. I don’t decorate for Halloween, but I do enjoy making Halloween crafts.
The vase… Paint a white coat of paint to the outside, let it dry, THEN, paint the black coat. I think you will achieve the inside effect you desire.
Agreed. I think would work well.
I had not thought of that!!! I will have to give this a try!
I thought it looked beautiful without any paint at all. Kinda kilidascope, watercolors tie dye stained glass. Lol😂 Looked gorgeous to me! ❤
I agree with the above comments...but my thought was just the white paint with a little distressing. I think it depends on where you were thinking of using it. Loved the multiple use of the flannel shirt.❤❤

Love the clock turned to a Halloween window so much! Great idea!

You are so creative!
Just put clear to seal and see if you like it
Everything was beautiful! ❤ My next trip to thrift store I'll be checking out the flannels
Thank you, Barbara! 😊

The Clock turned Halloween decoration was my favorite
These are very nice! I love how you think outside the box!
Thank you, Tracy! 😊
The old clock project was by far my favorite.
I'm always impressed with all your ideas and the way you finish the projects!
You never disappoint! Such a talented lady. I love what you do!
So creative! ❤
I love the old clock! The cat pumpkin and lights make it look so good
Oh, thank you, Tina!
Love, love, love everything ❤️
You are definitely a teacher. You’re so good at it one of your greatest qualities.

Wow, thank you! What a lovely compliment! I’m so glad I can share ideas with you even though we have different styles!☺️
Wow! All are so pretty and perfect! You always have such creative ideas for your projects!
The round clock frame made the perfect home for the spooky cat. It looks great on the door. 🐈⬛
Thank you! 😊
I don't know which project I like the best, but the broom and the clock are front-runners. You are just full of great ideas!
Love the cat/pumpkin one and you amazed me with the lantern. Plate was gorgeous. I actually really liked the last vase without the black paint.
Thank you, Melissa! I’m going to try that vase project again!
Omgoodness! Sherry! I love the black cat window!!! So beautiful! You're a genius!❤❤❤❤
Just love the clock transformation! So very cool
Always amazed at your talent

Love the cat in the round frame. The addition of the lights is so clever!!
These projects were so clever Sherry. The moss covered lantern was so sweet and the wood bowel looked so high end and beautiful. The clock turned lighted cat picture was spooky and fantastic. Really liked these projects!
This was my favorite set of transformations....maybe it's the fall theme.
I really love the Autumn poem in the frame with moss all around. The small flannel pocket with the florals is adorable! And the decorated broom is so cute, Sherry! Every project was just amazing. Thank you so much for the inspiration!
Thank you so much! I am so glad you liked these projects, Valerie! 😊
I love the way you often create on the fly, following your instincts. Beautiful, inspiring projects, as always!

I love how the green lights shine through the cats eyes!!
A happy occurrence that I hadn’t expected!
A cat in the window is perfect, love it!
Not a Halloween person but the cat window is super cute. You find the prettiest napkins.
The Halloween scene came out amazing! Genius!
Another winner video! Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it, Linda!
Loved the door window with the cat and pumpkin.
I just love what you did with that old clock. Putting the cat in there with the green lights around it was really nice
Oh, thank you, Wendy! I really wanted to use yellow lights, but I didn’t have any, and my son loved the green lights!
Loved the pheasant pillow! ❤
The clock-turned-window was so clever!
Thank you, Janet!

I love the black cat/window decor. So creative.

Thank you, Karen!
I love how the cat clock door decor turned out
I agree. The Halloween window is a great transformation. Such creativity! Wow.
I love how you fixed up the duck picture and I loved the broom!

How ingenious! My favourite has to be the brilliant cat and pumpkin on the window.
Sherry, I just love the floral vase! I have that same vase, I got it for a wedding gift (23) years ago. You are so talented. TFS 🙏🏽❤️❤️
These are all really great, but the cat in the clock takes the 🎂 . Beautiful ideas!😮
Thank you! 😊
So great Sherry! Absolutely love the old clock!! You always come up with something new!! Great job!
Your imagination is dazzling....thank you
The broom and mushroom are definitely my favorites. I also liked the cat wreath. Thanks for sharing.
Loved the cat with the green lights. However, they were all great, that one was my favorite.
Great crafts - I love the clock turned window w/Jack-o-lantern and cat!

Another great video... Loved the vase without the paint, so pretty. The broom is very cute, I like that. Always wonderful DIY's. Thank you...
My favorites were the broom and the Cat in the clock window.
The cat by the window is the best one!
Love love love the clock turned into cat and pumpkin wreath. I’m going to do this for my Xmas wreath this year and exchange it for a reindeer and Xmas tree.

My fall decor is always harvest centred, with only a few select Halloweenish items mixed in, so this video was perfect for my taste.
Amazing video !
I’m ready for Fall now
🍁 🍂 🍃
Your broom is so cute! I also love your birdhouse and frame with the moss. Thank you, Sherry
Am not a Halloween person but loved the cat plaque. I find your videos so interesting and you are very artistic and clever, Thank you. Have a great day
Thank you so much! I like making Halloween decorations, but I don’t put them up in my home either. I prefer autumn decor.
Love that cat and pumpkin and all you did with flannel shirt. Maybe just leaving base with floral napkins design and no paint would work. Love your work Sherry🎉🎉❤
My favorite is the repurposed clock.
Since you aren't adding water to the vase, what about a battery light in the bottom?
Sherry, I loved the vase with the flower napkins only!❤
Oh, thank you, Lana!
I love all of these ideas! You always amaze me with your creativity! I especially like the cat Halloween decoration! You are a treasure!
I'm in love with the Lantern & the Cat.. ❤
