Everybody is complaining that the show needs to explain what Inaho's backstory is and why he's so OP. I say, FUCK THAT! He's emotionless because he's emotionless. Nothing more, nothing less. The butthurt would be epic.

Oh and is it just me who finds it a bit weird that even though there are sooo many emotionless characters, like Rei, and all the million Rei clones, but now when a guy is emotionless, people think he's autistic or something? :S
Why is Inaho OP? Because he does not fool around and ACTUALLY THINKS THINGS THROUGH. Standard operating procedure for the Terrans seems to be, "Find enemy, shoot enemy, continue shooting enemy even though it is completely ineffective, get killed, send more troops to repeat the process." The VERS delusions of invincibility means they give many chances for their target to react, and go in alone and unsupported. Inaho takes the time to figure out his enemies, then exploit their weaknesses. Also, what the hell happened to the world's high-caliber cannons/artillery and anti-tank missiles? If auto-cannon (typically 25-30mm guns) AP and HE rounds can put serious dents into VERS armor, and a 75mm gun (the sniper) is considered a powerful weapon, then a 120/125mm tank gun would laugh at anything short of a VERS barrier. And if VERS armor could be defeated by a steam explosion, I am sure a 155mm artillery shell or Hellfire missile going off in the face of Kataphrakt would reduce it to scrap. In any case, I still have to catch up and there is still a lot more show left. Hopefully they will answer the question as to why humanity has completely forgotten about weapon systems designed to defeat armor (which is weird, since those conspirators in the first episode had sizable missiles).
