Once upon a Time, I use to eat a couple of bowls of "Old recipe Kellogg's sugar pops" that thing was speed. My late mom said I'd be bouncing off the walls.
Yes you only live once. However let’s make it a good life- I must emphasise I HAD chronic degenerative severe arthritis which meant I needed to have plates and screws in more than one area of my spine - including my cervical spine. Medics basically told me I’d be in a wheelchair by my 70s! Guess what- I’m 73, I’ve been carnivore 4 1/2 years -- and if anything I believe I’ve cured myself no longer on meds, which made me feel dreadful- zero. Looking and feeling better than I did in my 50s. ❤
Hear that a lot, life is too short. Yes, it is. Make your own choices. There are plenty of things to have fun with in life other than dementia, diabetes, etc...
Why do carnivores and vegans always default to excess examples?!! I'm 80 and know that excess in anything is the enemy. I just had a slice of Sicilian pizza and a small Coke for lunch. I'm doing just fine.
@adelarsen9776 You must've missed that I'm 80. I don't live in fear like carnivores and vegans do of food. I've had the greatest dinners and memories in NYC restaurants my whole life and don't regret a single day or meal.
Haha, well thats how I used to live, which is why Im on carnivore now, but heck it kinda worked for me until I hit my later years but even then what damage was done, yeah screw that way of life, now heading towards my mid-50s but feeling mid-20s and currently feeling very grateful!
I understand the yolo "philosophy" and how people use it as an excuse to justify their addiction to sugar and gustatory pleasure. I've been there. The carnivore WOE has made me at 76 feel better than I have in decades. No asthma, enhanced mental focus, no depression or untethered anxiety, better sleep, great energy, etc. Yes, yolo. I intend to keep feeling this good until I run out of pier and step into the infinite ocean. The momentary gustatory pleasure doesn't hold a candle to the way I feel now every day. Yolo so do what supports your mind, body, and soul not your addiction.❤
Yeah eat what you want and then you'll pay the price like many of us out here. You'll wind up a Type 2 diabetic with arthritis, gastric digestive problems and be absolutely miserable and in constant pain. Now does that sound like fun to you? I wish I knew what Dr. Shawn Baker, Dr. Ken Berry & Ben Bikman Phd had to impart years ago. I could have had a much healthier productive life. Instead now I'm coming to the carnivore lifestyle as a way to try to turn my health problems around late in life.
Carnivore menu for your best health. Thank you doctor Shawn Baker. Most Doctors know the truth but they have criminal intentions. They want us sick and stupid. T Bone Baby!
The bigger problem is the Department of Health Guidelines that legally force Doctors to conform .Don't forget ,if a Doctore deviates from Official Guidelines , he could be subjected to real legal consequences .Is it any wonder they conform ?.
If you are healthy, nothing (in moderation) should make you harm. But if you are diabetic, with high blood pressure, overweight, fatty liver, lung problems, kidney problems, etc, of course "common" food will be bad for you ( and by "common" I mean the crap we are feed nowadays). If you don't have anything of those, just take some ice cream here and there, it won't kill you. The problem is that most people don't know, don't want to know or don't care about their current health and just eat/drink whatever they want without control or moderation.
Never 1) eat or 2) drink ANY crappy packaged factory 1) food or 2) beverages advertised "on TV." Any relevant "details" become relevant AFTER erasing "TV brand" nasty packaged factory food.
i do believe in moderation, i will treat myself to a pizza every now and then or if im going out which isnt too much ill eat whatevers on the menu but the majority of the time im on a mainly carnivore diet. I have friends that eat whatever and they dont care though and im not gonna judge them for it. Although i do laugh when they consume crazy amounts of pepsi max but say its ok because zero calories lol
same ball park here. I see many that cant control carbs and benefit greatly going carnivore. I am meat based and love steak but like a potato with it and the occasional pizza. Im 45 same weight as HS but can tell the next day if I had pizza mentally😂. kinda like a hangover but not as bad 😂. I drank crazy amounts of diet dr pecker when it was free at work, never gained weight but cant be good and glad I stopped.
Since I started carnivore 3 weeks ago I feel great by belly bloat is gone and I have lost close to 30lbs. Im working out again and I have more energy. The only problem I am having is my heart rate seems fast and it keeps me from getting good sleep.
When you were eating the standard American diet you were getting some B-vitamins in "fortified and enriched" foods such as breads and pasta (since there's no nutrition in those items). You need to supplement with good quality B vitamins and electrolytes. In our history, humans got all the electrolytes and trace minerals we needed through drinking pure water that flowed from the earth and eating animals that ate and drank from healthy sources. In modern life most of the water you drink has been filtered and chemically treated to "soften" the water, which = removed all minerals.
Nothing wrong with treating yourself once in a while. An overall healthy lifestyle and eating wholesome foods will see you through the occasional self indulgence. My grandmother lived to 103 with both active mind and body. She ate all foods including sugary treats. But she cooked/baked them from ingredients, never pre prepared packaged things. She never stuffed herself, chewed slowly and ate to satisfy hunger then left the table. She enjoyed delicious foods. We do only live once and we have taste buds.
The implication is that a food is proven bad at the point it kills you. Therefore, you could drink motor oil and if it doesn't kill you, well just keep drinking. (Don't drink motor oil anyone!)
I’m watching a friend let diabetes slowly reduce his quality of life - it’s tragic because he literally said the YOLO I’ll eat what I want 😢 he’s going to miss out on his grandchildren growing up, he was taken to hospital last week white as a ghost pain front and back around his heart…, I’ve yet to hear about the test results. I’m soon fingers crossed to be putting my type 2 into remission.
Yep! You only live once! As the song says, "we're here for a good time, not a long time." And if he thinks something like Bistecca alla Fiortina in Italy is a waste of life, he needs to reevaluate his priorities. Honestly, he needs to anyway.
I made myself yesterday ( Sunday ) a treat .. whipped cream for dessert … it was glorious , funny thou , when you stop eating sugar , milk itself tastes sweet enough for me …and I know I will only live once but hopefully healthy until my last breath … all the best for you guys
It's all about quality of life. I was vegetarian for many years, thinking it was healthy, but it wasn't. I was getting sicker and fatter every year. I found keto last October, and carnivore now, and it's been amazing. I've lost weight, gained energy, I'm not hungry and tired all the time. Loving mostly beef and lamb.
That's true that life is short. Thus we should do whatever we can to feel as nourished and well as possible. Eating fatty red meat does that for any and everyone, and reduces your risk of suffering lifelong ailments or even cancer.
if you need something sweet for breakfast eat pork, unless you cant for whatever reason, but for breakfast my favorite thing to make when i have the time is two omelets, one French style made from egg yolks filled with cheese, the other American style made from the egg whites filled with ham, best carnivore breakfast ever! ok maybe aside from steak...
It's not impossible to climb out of that high carb/sugar brain destroying mess taught in the 90's. Eggs, cheese, meat, and full fat creme in the morning coffee are good changes. I'd have steak everyday if I could. Still not perfect here, I love rice noodles with beef on occasion. I have been avoiding pizza.👍🏻
"It is not about adding years to your life, it is about adding LIFE TO YOUR YEARS that you live"! Living and living well are two different things. Eat like your life depends on it........heard that before.
I remember when all the small minds were spewing YOLO. My reply was and is still the same, don't be an idiot all your life, you only die once, you live everyday. 🥩💯😎
Eating that fun food made me so continuously hungry that I wasn’t enjoying my one life to the fullest. Yolo, live it in vibrant, good health free of brain fog, aches and pains, prescription meds and obesity.
I dont blame an aspect of YOLO. Live it up eat your cake or pie in moderation but how do you feel the next day? Steak or salmon for dinner always makes my mind sharper in the morning and I do have a potato with it and at my HS weight at 45 so think things going well.
Yeah, NO! I'd rather not continue down this T2 path of increasingly sicker and sicker until I inevitably end up losing parts of my body to it. YOLO and you only have one body in that one life, so respect that body and enjoy your life to the max!
I recently went on a cruise. Everyone was saying, oh, you're going to eat so much food. You are going to gain weight. I said, Oh, no I'm not. I didn't. I realize eating a delicious steak is just as satisfying to me as someone else eating a huge dessert, or fries....you get it. 💪
Life's too short, so I'll make it longer by fasting regularily, every week +IF everyday. I'm 71kg/180cm height and never felt better in my life. And I love steaks. It's a pity that it's so hard to buy quality steaks here where I live, but it's not impossible 😊
If you want your body to be pain-free, healthy, with no illness. Diet and exercise are important. And, as you say, There are lots more important things that what goes in your mouth!
I had that attitude for 40 years and it made me so sick and miserable I could barely function. Carnivore gave me my life back.

I will try my hardest to get healthy stay healthy for the duration of my life. That means 🥩🥓🍗🧀🥚🧂☕
It's a good outlook on life to want to live to the fullest, try new things, and not live in fear. You can take that to mean nacho-flavored Mountain Dew if you want to... you can even take it as enjoying a fruity pebbles routine daily, I guess... but I'll take it in the way that requires proper fuel and work to do more activities, travel more places, and not get hurt.
Yesterday at 11 pm I biked 10 miles to a party, danced for almost 5 hours, biked another 10 miles back. I don`t think I`d have the energy on an omnivore diet, but on carnivore the energy just keeps coming!
Dr. Shawn, do you ever eat pork? Chicken? Fish? Shellfish? Cheese? Drink whole milk?
He’s indirectly pushing his beloved statins.
And we know that eating Oreos, and possibly breakfast cereal, will lower your LDL more than statins.....
@@charlestoast4051Cereal is full of sugary carbs ...., usually more than oreos .If oreos lower my ldl ,as an lmhr , cereal will too .
Statins reduce ldl ,without addressing 90% of metabolic health bio-markers (in effect, masking the issues that result in serious problems like cvd.). This is why the majority of cardiac patients have ldl scores within recommended ranges, and still aren't healthy .
"And fruity pebbles are amazing." Face palm.
How disordered does someone's taste buds have to be to actually like that stuff? You want some carbs, what's wrong with a handful of blueberries?
the really amazing thing is that anyone eats them.
Yeah, if I only get one life and one body, then I want to live as healthy and as happy as I possibly can!! And Carnivore makes me happy AND healthy!! 😊❤
Once upon a Time, I use to eat a couple of bowls of "Old recipe Kellogg's sugar pops" that thing was speed. My late mom said I'd be bouncing off the walls.
Dr. Alo... rofl... rofl 😆🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😆😆😆🤣 rofl... rofl 😆😆🤣🤣😆😆🤣🤣 What a dope.
He's not dead yet, but Alo's brain is fried.
He's doing a veiled push for his poison statins
Hear that a lot, life is too short. Yes, it is. Make your own choices. There are plenty of things to have fun with in life other than dementia, diabetes, etc...
Why do carnivores and vegans always default to excess examples?!! I'm 80 and know that excess in anything is the enemy. I just had a slice of Sicilian pizza and a small Coke for lunch. I'm doing just fine.
@@Vinny-no9bd No you're not. Your blood glucose is raised and so is your insulin. You have insulin resistance and T3D.
@adelarsen9776 You must've missed that I'm 80. I don't live in fear like carnivores and vegans do of food. I've had the greatest dinners and memories in NYC restaurants my whole life and don't regret a single day or meal.
@@Vinny-no9bd I wish you good health and prosperity.
@@Vinny-no9bd I did not. I come from a long-lived family. Most do very well into their 80’s, then the rapid decline starts. Good luck.
Haha, well thats how I used to live, which is why Im on carnivore now, but heck it kinda worked for me until I hit my later years but even then what damage was done, yeah screw that way of life, now heading towards my mid-50s but feeling mid-20s and currently feeling very grateful!
YOLO that's why I wanna eat healthy lol
I love feeling energetic, creative and alive more than I love the MSG high from junkfood.
I used to live yolo and have had a lot of regreto! Carnivore has improved my life %100
I wonder if you had 2 hikers and gave one a half lb of bacon and 1 a snikers bar how many less miles the one that ate the candy bar could go😂
Yeah eat what you want and then you'll pay the price like many of us out here.
Life is too short to be in pain all the time. These people that say that crap is ok obviously aren't experiencing big problems yet..but they will.
@ 0:48 It looks like the only healthy ingredient in Fruity Pebbles is salt.
Probably not, They most likely use the cheapest salt that is full of micro plastics, so basically not one nutritious benefit in that cereal. 🤢
You nailed it as usual doc. Quality and quantity can and should go hand in hand. The proper diet now will pay off down the road as well as right now
Never 1) eat or 2) drink ANY crappy packaged factory 1) food or 2) beverages advertised "on TV." Any relevant "details" become relevant AFTER erasing "TV brand" nasty packaged factory food.
Ribeye is pleasurable.....ground beef is pleasurable.....dying a miserable death is not......
i do believe in moderation, i will treat myself to a pizza every now and then or if im going out which isnt too much ill eat whatevers on the menu but the majority of the time im on a mainly carnivore diet.
@@genuineimpulse9134 WEll I got this electrolyte powder mix and I have been drinking it Ill get the B thanks.;
I think he's free to eat as much cereal as possible. 🤪 i hope he has a good savings plan.
Eventually dementia sets in after eating Fruity Pebbles every day. Sad, can't even call it denial.
Carnivore for eight months and I still have intermittently cravings for that junk.
Today's menu: 3 ground beef patties, a 6oz steak. Very satisfying ❤Thank you Dr. Baker.❤
I was an Air Force cook years ago, food is morale!
Hey, YOLO! That hit of crack is YOLO! Heroin is YOLO! Drive 90 mph in a school zone is YOLO! 😮😂
Yep! You only live once! As the song says, "we're here for a good time, not a long time." And if he thinks something like Bistecca alla Fiortina in Italy is a waste of life, he needs to reevaluate his priorities. Honestly, he needs to anyway.
i have an 80something relative who eats cereal daily, on no meds, she's active & seems fine, still
has all her own teeth
I made myself yesterday ( Sunday ) a treat .. whipped cream for dessert … it was glorious , funny thou , when you stop eating sugar , milk itself tastes sweet enough for me …and I know I will only live once but hopefully healthy until my last breath … all the best for you guys
Alo could make the same argument for cigarettes. "Been smoking for 20 years and I'm not dead yet"!
Yeah, that YOLO mentality is why I'm a Barney Built Big Fella right now. I'd rather NOT end up in a nursing home in my 70s and 80s.
That's true that life is short. Thus we should do whatever we can to feel as nourished and well as possible. Eating fatty red meat does that for any and everyone, and reduces your risk of suffering lifelong ailments or even cancer.
We live every day and we must live it in optimal health, feeling the best we can to live the best active life we can.
if you need something sweet for breakfast eat pork, unless you cant for whatever reason, but for breakfast my favorite thing to make when i have the time is two omelets, one French style made from egg yolks filled with cheese, the other American style made from the egg whites filled with ham, best carnivore breakfast ever! ok maybe aside from steak...
I feel like we should all be over the fruity pebble stage in life 😂😂
Keep on…Keeping on Dr.
If grain products weren't required to be fortified, pellagra would be popping up all over the place.
Even in our senior years there’s still a future, so let’s preserve it by not eating junk.
Many people are more concerned about the gas they put into their car than the food they put into their mouth.
"It is not about adding years to your life, it is about adding LIFE TO YOUR YEARS that you live"! Living and living well are two different things. Eat like your life depends on it........heard that before.
I Love You All!
I never thought I’d be able to eat beef every day! What a treat!
There are cardiologists ... and then there are "cardiologists"
Nothing tastes as good as being healthy feels 💪
"So go on and roll the dice. You only live twice---- do it or die..." (Atlanta Rhythm Section, 1972)
Kieth Richards has taken Drugs & Alcohol most of his life & he isn't dead yet, what the point ?
But he is a raddled wreck !!
I had that attitude for 40 years and it made me so sick and miserable I could barely function. Carnivore gave me my life back.
No Seed Oils. Grass-fed beef and lamb, organic chicken, and raw fermented garlic,.. to balance-out Monopolowa Vodka.
"Enjoy yourself, it's later than you think."
You live only once and I choose to live without asthma, sleep apnea, diabetes, hypertension and obesity! And I love what I eat! Beef and Eggs!
You eat to live, you don't live to eat.
When I do the former, I'm happy and focused.
When I do the latter, I'm unhappy and questioning my life choices.
As someone said below, you only DIE once, but you live everyday! So, everyday counts and could be wonderful or miserable. Life is indeed too short... for Alzheimer, diabetes, thyroid issues, stiff joints, high blood pressure, excess weight, you name it
Reality will catch up with Alo over time; it always does!
A colleague of mine just passed away, less than a year after retirement. She wasn't even 65 yet! Poor woman. Yeah, YOLO. Youth truly is wasted on the youth.
If you're healthy and don't have issues with weight, I do think you can eat as you like. My guess is that your diet is pretty healthy. 32 years with my ex, and he always ate what he wanted. Never sick, and his weight was perfect.
I agree. Life is too short to be eating tofu and tempeh all the time. Life is also too short to restrict yourself to an extremely bland diet of Meat for breakfast, lunch and dinner, omitting all plants out there, including herbs and spices.
From an omnivore.
Plant based people just don’t eat tofu and tempeh all the time. There’s a wide range of choices of fruits, veggies, legumes, beans, nuts, seeds and other plant based food.
I mean… have you tasted bacon? Butter? Steak? Eggs? All you need is salt. They’re delicious and not at all bland.
@@whiterook3114I know they don’t. But a lot of them do eat Tofu and Tempeh which for want of a better word, tastes like shite.
@@heidikindon5182If I’m omnivore, what do you think kiddo? Would I fancy eating big greasy steaks or bacon and eggs every single morning though - not a mission.
And Please don’t tell me it’s a varied diet because it’s not. It’s a diet for the fussiest of eaters with the blandest of palates. It’s bland by virtue of the fact that’s there’s no herbs or spices added to it.
I can just imagine you lot entering a Michelin starred restaurant and just ordering a steak and nothing else. You’d be asked to leave and never come back. Ridiculous! 😂
