    Mc Donald’s, all kind of energy drinks companies and of course potato chips of all sorts and the Coca Cola crap!
    Now obesity is on the rise as well as chronic diseases in young people mainly.
    I’m 66 year old woman who grew up in the 60s and 70s back then potato chips were sold by the pound and it used to be a small treat that was to be shared with guess along with olives, cheese and salami. Now the individual bags of chips are double the size of The little bag my dad used to buy to share with guess only on Sundays…with delicious Cinzano or Campari! I'm doing carnivore since Feb. but eating butter and meat made me discover that I have low stomach acid which is frustrating. Now, I take HCL. I eat 1lb 1/2 of grass-fed ground beef and a little of butter because I can't imagine eating lots of butter which probably would not help the low stomach acid. I don't know... maybe isn't enough? Great interview- so inspiring! My vegan friends think I'm crazy for being carnivore but they do not realize how many wild animals are killed per acre to grow their veggies, the soil depletion (need cow poop for that), and that thousands of migrant children are picking their produce. On the other hand, I think we carnivores can really support regenerative farming and humane treatment of animals.

      I used to work at a vineyard, and I've seen the carnage firsthand. I'm sure most people think wine is a vegan product. They would change their minds real quick if they saw how many spiders go through the crusher! All their juices go into the wine.
      Besides the spiders and insects, we also waged a constant war on rabbits and small birds. We used every method under the sun, and the battle was brutal. Our company even hired a falconer to bring his birds of prey and catch as many creatures as they could.

    I have had 4 shoulder operations and a partial shoulder replacement from a work injury at age 29, I am now 33. I have been doing meat-based diet for almost 3 months. I can't begin to explain how much relief I have gotten so far. I can raise my arm above my head with no pain, I am starting to be able to reach behind my back, also have my elbow out to the side while touching the back of my head. I have lost 30lbs without working out. I started last week and I'm already up 30lbs on some of my lifts with no pain from the week prior. My wife is 51 and her journey is remarkably similar to this person. I have been suggesting she go full carnivore (she is currently at the “20 supplements a day” part of her journey) and when the cycle is over the next trial is carnivore.
    I’m 55 and mostly carnivore. I occasionally cheat because I have a weakness for many carbs. Even so I have lost over 120 pounds since 2020 by eating mostly carnivore and increasing my exercise. It seems you don’t even need to be perfectly disciplined to succeed at carnivore which makes it even more appealing. It is a style of eating that allows you to have a healthy and rewarding relationship with food. I have made major lasting changes since 2020 but was never angry or resentful about my food choices.

      Right? I don’t think people know what ketogenic actually means. I think they’re just adding fat to the SAD diet and calling it keto. It’s so bizarre. I eat a very animal based ketogenic diet. I have to add fat into my diet through things like bacon fat and butter to have an 80-20 ratio of fat to protein. It’s very hard to maintain that ratio without intentionally adding fat. I’ve noticed that if I’m just doing straight carnivore without focusing on fat, I’m usually around a 60-40 or 70-30 ratio. To stay in ketosis and get the results I need for the neurological conditions I have, I need to stay close to the 80-20 ratio. All of that would be useless with carbs. It would literally just be the SAD diet.

    True keto is 20 grams or less of carbs daily. It's great for weigh loss if carnivore is not quite the right fit. And there's ketovore too. Lots of great choices imo. So glad this woman found health and carnivore worked for her.

    • @Tatiacha
      @Tatiacha 7 місяців тому +1

      ketovore is still less then 20 but usually less than 10 so it really is not significantly different unless the person counting to 20 is using net carbs vs total which is not truly keto that is how they eat all the keto treats, if you are doing total carbs then you can't do keto treats.

    • @FirstLast-iv2tc
      @FirstLast-iv2tc 7 місяців тому +3

      Agreed! If a person has a hard time with the sugar addiction problem, keto treats may be okay for a bit, better than sugary snacks for sure. But really it is best to stick to whole real foods like a nice rib eye or chicken thighs. I love cheese and hard boiled eggs for a snack. People coming off the SAD diet possibly have yeast overgrowth in the gut causing horrible sugar cravings. Fasting is also awesome to start off a change. You'll be in ketosis in like 3 days through fasting.@@Tatiacha

    Wonderful that this 54 yr old woman has found the proper diet for humans, is feeling so good & has food freedom~ it truly is amazing. *I heard you mention her age/how good she looks a few times, & I agree~ though it's difficult to truly see what a person looks like behind those filters. I don't understand why nearly every female I see in videos anymore has that blurred, "perfect" skin look- no laugh lines, no dimples, freckles, or contour to the face. It's a type of filter that even goes beyond the ring lights that many use for videos.
    It would be helpful to see the actual person- in all their carnivore glory- rather than an air brushed version. That way, others don't assume unrealistic expectations of how a person looks after eating this way. Also, many will compare themselves & realize they are miles away from this magazine retouched appearance that many are presenting themselves as. This gal is a lovely woman, no need in attempting to trick the eye~ we all know about the filters these days.
    Thanks so much Shawn~ always appreciate your efforts with this channel. So many great stories, & a whole lot of valuable information.

      @@tratincica2211 I would buy daily contacts and reduce my correction slightly. I think I started with -3.0 and -2.75. Then -.25 each after that. Eventually I just used -1.25 in each eye.
      I trained for 20-40 minutes focusing on distances 10' 30' and 50-70' away. Every time I trained I would also spend a few minutes looking at tree lines VERY far away. When an airplane would pass, I would try to focus on that as well.
      I trained as long as it took for my eyes to fatigue. (30 minutes average) It usually took about 2-3 months of daily training to reduce correction +.25. I knew I was ready to reduce +.25 when my eyes no longer fatigued, and I didn't have to work to "active focus" my vision. (Once you look in the distance and the vision STARTS OFF crystal clear, your correction is too high to train.)
      So honestly, 30-40 hours total time training my eyes. It's a slow process. It took a long time to screw up your eyesight. It will take a while to tighten it back up.
      I trained while listening to podcasts and eating lunch, generally. Tried to not look at my phone or food too much while training distance.

    Going carnivore while stopping alcohol was a game changer for me. IMHO you can't do one without the other.

    I felt that once I entered my 50's it was probably time to start to be careful about what I ate. The (supposed) symptoms of older age were catching up with me. I had the beer gut, spent way too many days being sick and tired of being 'sick and tired'. I only knew what the media had taught me over the years.. eat more veggies, watch the animal fats, etc. I then developed a skin cancer under my nose (luckily just a BCC). That made me stop and think and decide to make a change. In a way I was lucky. The cancer made me start researching the causes of cancers. I quickly realised to role of sugar with cancers.. and I stumbled upon people talking about lchf/keto diets. Of course, the govt dietary advice aligned with vegan values to a large extent. So, I started watching experts that referred to the concepts behind their dietary advice. One striking difference i noted was that the vegan experts never really explained the science and research, and strangely seemed to use fear as an argument. Yet, virtually every lchf/keto (and later, carnivore) proponent always seemed excited about the emerging science and research on their diets. Less 'cult' and more 'information'. On the few occasions where i met a vegan in person they would recommend a video made by someone who would (again) try to convince me that veganism was the better way. Personally, I never found anyone who had convinced me that being a vegan was supported by facts. I can't remember one single person.. and I was completely open minded at the start. Yet, I had watched and heard referrals from 100's of videos, referred to scientific papers, research data, and so on that pointed to the facts about real nutrition and health benefits. Information from all different directions creating a network of facts.. sort of makes it undeniable that lchf/keto/carnivore was the answer to diet and health. Lots of stories of people whose health had improved by eating this way, and the only negative comments came from vegans. Now, at 61, my own aches and pains have gone away. I lost 25kg, initially at nearly 2kg per week by adding fat to my diet and zero exercise.. proving that it was the diet doing the good (I tried jogging early on.. before losing enough weight, and injured my right knee.. so, barely able to walk for two weeks and then I went on a 5 or 6 week road trip.. still losing nearly 2kg per week). I do understand that exercise is essential for creating what I call 'fitness reserve' (having excess fitness so-as to overcome disease or injury) and I recognise the benefits to health and healthy exposure to sunlight simply by walking for 30 to 40 minutes per day as a basic and natural form of stress free exercise. Now, my blood pressure stays in the ideal range, I have kept my weight to a much more normal level, my blood sugar levels are now under the 'pre diabetic levels', no more heart palpitations, regained neck mobility (I can keep riding my motorbike).. and a myriad of other health improvements.. some I didn't realise at first, but then noticed that I was no longer getting headaches, no more mouth ulcers, etc, etc, etc. My health improvements have become obvious over time and there is no way any Expert® is going to talk me into joining a food cult simply by arguing.

    She didn't do a clean keto to stay in ketosis, carnivore diet has 0 carbs so you are in ketosis as well, carnivore can be classifies as keto because the word keto unlike carnivore, vegan, fruitarian, doesn't mean what type of food you're eating but the state of ketosis

    I'm still far from convinced carnivore is the best overall diet.
    However I do believe it to be the best for certain individuals
    Especially with how big industry has affected our food, supply, namely pesticides, preservatives, and Emulsifiers, and even oxalates I don’t find it surprising that people are seeing benefits with carnivore, especially as most people do not meet their protein requirements
    Nevertheless, I’m happy to see Barbara is healthy and happy, and I’m also more than willing to help support carnivore channels, seeing as veganism is still being pushed. Enemy of my enemy is my friend.

      Not an exaggeration. I used to think someone going directly from Vegan to Carnivore was extraordinary, but it is surprisingly common. I think it has to do with the individual having a binary thought process.

    My wife had gastric bypass surgery about 6 years ago, she has had ulcer problems and developed lipoedema. I’ve been carnivore for about 2 years and have done fantastic, lost 90 lbs and vastly improved my health, I want her to go carnivore but her bariatric doctor says she shouldn’t have high fat, is there any medical bases for this?

    • @kitxxxxxxx
      @kitxxxxxxx 7 місяців тому

      There are people on UA-cam trying carnivore for it. Maybe look at their journeys. I think they say that because it's a fat issue so don't want it getting worse. But the cause seems to be genetics and hormones. A diet that is anti inflammatory and helps with hormones should help. So she might still need carbs and healthy plant fats for that balance, but not the agro ones.

Let's be real here, this is how a fifty-year-old is supposed to look. More often than not people who live on SAD age much more aggressively and hit the wall with a vengeance.

If I could get my wife to understand how important this diet really is then maybe she would look a lot younger, but I'm satisfied with her being her happy self instead of pressuring her to be my ideal woman.

    😭😓 I did it for 3 months straight - go AMAZING RESULTS - and I felt back down the wagon really bad … had a PMDD psychotic episode (not the carnivore diet) my own system was in huge pain because I eat sugar again… I was almost going to the hospital in desperation ….
    Than, I KNEW…. My system is just really sensitive to old bad habits choices and I can’t afford to be in that space any longer…
    I KNOW, that carnivore was the very best thing I’ve done for myself … I’m getting back on that wagon now, it just happened 😢 so I’m in recovery and transition mode again……..
    HUGE REGRET that I had a night of celebratory drinking and that was the trigger for a at list 60 days of just pain, mental fog, the worse PMDD crises I’ve had in a very long time….. NO WORTH the cake, drinks, AT ALL!!!!! I look at these foods and one side of me craves them badly still and the other side is terrified of having another huge dangerous mental breakdown….
    Try it!! It is WORTH every little NO THANK U to sugar, alcohol that u will happily say to yourself ….. it’s so worth it!!!!!
