*I lost 120 pounds in 2018 on a Carnivore Diet, I maintained that in 2019. In 2020 I struggled with some weight gain and then lost it again in 2021. For the last few years I have been maintaining a healthy weight. In December 2022 I had skin removal surgery (tummy tuck). This channel just documents all of that journey and how our family lives normal lives and eats a meat based diet.

Wow! Perfect weight loss. If you’re losing under 2 pounds a week like that, you’re way less likely to gain it back and it gives your skin time to adjust too, so you’ll have less chance of saggy skin. That’s great discipline. Congratulations!

I reversed my type 2 STEP 1. (BY far the most important step) No sugar, low carb diet (almost keto diet) 2. Skip breakfast/no snacking 3. walk after meals. I too have a1c of 4.9! No more meds for diabetes! Lost 30 lbs to a healthy weight of 165lbs. Most type 2 diabetes can be reversed with the right diet.

I got mine from 9.5 to 5.9 , likewise by cutting way back on carbs and sugars. I still need to get better about intermittent fasting. Also I now "shop the perimeter" at the store, for the most part, lost 30 pounds.

@@mayorb3366 Sounds like your on the right track and doing things right! 5.9 is better then most diabetics! They say you should be under 7 as A diabetic. Good JOB! I love my exercise and my new body shape, no more massive shelf of fat on my front and lower BP and a resting pulse rate of 49 bpm! You chaps look amazing. That is my proof that your method works. You look fantastic. While I would not advocate the products you advertise, nor the carnivore diet, there are definitely elements of your approach that are worth hearing about, and incorporating. While very low carb, is an approach to improving insulin sensitivity, I am cautious that taking this too far, for too long, may not be the best thing.
I think there is benefit in retraining the body over time to deal better with carbs, and also retain its ability to process carbs. Yes one should avoid the worst of carbs, like sugar, white rice, regular consumption of pasta, bread, and flour based products, as well as processed food - e.g biscuits, etc, which erode our satiety and make us over eat.
I think we should wean ourselves away from the sugary taste, which is NOT common in nature, e.g honey which should be an occasional treat. And the use of any kind of sweeteners, such as advertised in your mineral product in this video, does not help to wean people OFF the sugar addiction. I also think we consume far too much salt for our own good, and have developed a taste for salt. Some salt is needed, but I do not think we need as much salt as has been recommended.

    00:00 Intro
    00:50 Sponsor
    02:11 Health background
    03:24 Disclaimer
03:50 Mechanism for type 2 diabetes
    04:42 "Lose weight"
05:13 Step #1 - Minimize or eliminate sugar. Sugar includes carbs like breads and pastas. Do a low carb diet or even a carnivore diet.
06:45 Step #2 - Exercise. This could just be a simple walk. Like one long 45 to 60 minute brisk walk per day. Or multiple shorter 10-15 walks after each meal. However, if you're physically able, then it could be good to do higher intensity sprints or runs or similar exercises, but these could have more challenges as well. Such as increasing hunger or appetite which leads to more eating which is not what we want and/or causing one to be more exhausted and thus not as active for the rest of the day which could be possibly overall worse for losing weight and reversing type 2 diabetes.
08:22 Step #3 - Incorporating fasting. Such as intermittent fasting and eating all 3 meals within an 8 hour window per day so you are in effect fasting the rest of the 16 hours per day. Or eating only 2 meals within a 6 hour window per day so you fast 18 hours per day. Or even eating a single meal within one hour per day so you fast 23 hours per day. Or doing longer 24-48-72 hour long fasts without eating anything during that time, only drinking water. See what works best in your situation without harming yourself and with the overall goal of losing weight and reversing type 2 diabetes.
10:10 How long will it take? Depends how long you've been diabetic.
Edit. Some other steps to consider. Check your blood glucose regularly. Measure your weight regularly. Possibly measure the calories of your food depending on your diet. Possibly measure your caloric intake depending on your diet. Thanks and that's all.

I am so frustrated! Today is my 14th day on carnivore. I haven't had carbs, sugar, bread, pasta, rice, or any of that. I have been eating eggs, bacon, steak, ground beef, cheese, and pork rinds. I have had problems with diarrhea. I'm doing my best to lose this weight and reverse my t2. I feel I'm losing the battle. I tested myself after dinner and I'm at a high of 195! Carnivore lifestyle and daily glucometer measurements showed me I could stop metformin & glipizide within 3 months. 5 months after diagnosis I purchased another A1c and it was 5.3...down from 8.5. At that point had lost 50 lbs. 5 months after that, today, I'm down 50 more lbs to "optimum" weight, the beer gut was the last to go and daily glucometer measurements are in the high 70s to low 80s. You can do it also

I struggled with the bathroom as well, Laura said I may want to add in a probiotic. I did, and it did help a bit. Try a little less fat as well, and cutting back on any dairy. Then things are more normal, you can slowly add in the dairy and fat again and find what your body does best with. Starting keto and slowly going to full carnivore might also help. My first couple weeks, I gained and then the 4th week I think I saw a massive drop. Hope that helps, good luck!!

I tried the carnivore diet for a whole year. I really wanted it to work for me. I enjoyed it a lot, specifically how simple it was BUT I just couldn't do it. My digestion was a massive issue for me, I couldn't find the right balance.... So I was either constipated or with diarrhea. I played with amount of fat for months.... Too much fat and I was terribly smelly and non stop diarrhea. A little less fat and I could go 10 days constipated.
Diabetes, I reversed diabetes doing fasting and I had amazing results that way. With carnivorous diet my h1c went up and substantially....my conclusion on that is regardless what diet I do, only fasting will keep my diabetes at bay.
I encouraged my son to followed this carnivore diet and he is still doing it, but I doubt he will continue much longer. He likes to try new foods too much, he is trying to isolate an allergy issue but the diet hasn't helped at all, meaning, he still doesn't know what causes the allergic reaction.

I started carnivore today and did really well- until right before supper, my blood sugar dropped and I felt terrible (enough my kids noticed) and had a couple tablespoons of peanut butter to get it up. How do you deal with lows like that without having to resort to sugars to get it up and stay carnivore?

It takes time for your body to adapt.
Always keep some sort of protein and/or high fat snack available. A piece of leftover meat, a piece of cheese, a boiled egg, even a pat of cold butter can help. No need to eat by a schedule if that doesn’t work for you right away. That will come with time.

Your problem sounds like insulin resistance. If your blood sugar did truely drop only thing that will cause it is high insulin.
Best thing to do before you start a horrible diet like this is fast and start eating more fats to get yourself fat adapted and lower your insulin levels

  • @n.w.414
    @n.w.414 2 місяці тому

Actually if you are burning fat instead of carbs then you won’t get as hungry as often. Sugars/carbs burn off so fast then you are hungry again. But when your body is used to burning fat it takes longer to experience hunger. You have greater stores of fats and they burn slower.

Meats, salads, berries, unsweeted greek yogurt, eggs, avocado, cucumbers, peppers. Look at your Glucose meter one hour after you eat, you want to keep that number as low as possible. Rice, beans, and carrots all high in carbs/sugars. Also watch out for Sauces and salad dressings that often have a lot of sugars.

Is there a recipe book you would recommend here in the UK, also a point I want to raise is the cost of elmnt drink packets here around £50 per box, any other suggestions on that?. Your an inspiration to myself and my wife.

So, biggest question, what do you mean by “reversing” diabetes? Are you saying you won’t have it anymore? You can eat normal? No meds? Or do you just mean you control your bg by diet? I feel the term reverse diabetes is a bit deceptive but so many use it.

I know a lot of people don't like to hear this, but track your macros for a few days and see what you're eating. It can be a weeks worth so you get an idea of what you're eating. I usually stick to an 80/20 fat to protein ratio since I have a lot of healing to do and try to stick around 2000 calories, but that's just for me. I've been carnivore for almost 8 months now and down 55lbs!
      Couple of ideas:
-cut out dairy. I do better with no dairy, as it really puts a damper on my wait loss.
-Another thing, some people do gain in the beginning as their body is getting used to the nutrient rich food and basically sucking it all up! It doesn't usually last long, but it can happen. Check out the steak and butter gal for some information on that.
-lastly, you might be gaining weight but building muscle and not fat. I have periods where I lose zero pounds on the scale but still loose several inches off my body! So do your measurements and check them monthly to really know what your progress is looking like. The scale isn't always your friend on this diet. Good luck!

You saying you're not a medical professional doesn't excuse you when you give HORRIBLE health advice, which you did. If you don't know what you're talking about, stick to what you know. God designed our bodies to definitely know the difference between healthy carbs (yes that's a thing) and bad ones. You are pushing the no carb fad, but our bodies were perfectly made to eat freely from the earth. This GMO thing is a different subject. Our bodies know the difference and respond accordingly when we eat apples, oranges, pineapples, blueberries etc. vs. when we eat snickers or donuts! Yes, type II diabetics need to watch their carbs but their are nutrients in fruits that are needed and I don't know of a credible, educated dietician or nutritionist that would tell a patient to get rid of fruit.

    • @DrAJ_LatinAmerica
      @DrAJ_LatinAmerica 3 місяці тому

@@dianawardrip5171 you come out of the dark. No one is going to die from eating an apple. In fact, for many, fruit and vegetables are a great transition from processed junk food. Even Dr. Berry eats pears and blueberries in season. Some people will sever liver dysfunction, might need that apple as they can't produce glucose like a healthy liver. Others find a lower blood sugar with a few fruits and vegetables in place of fats. Some will drop more body fat and quicker. No one size fits all. No one exact diet for everyone. In fact a type 1 diabetic might need that apple to stay alive in the event of low blood sugar. How many dying patients have you treated ?
