Great follow up video of the Rhyl Miniature Railway Bob! It seems a well run railway with no shortage of locos and stock. You had a lively run out to the pond and back behind "Joan" including driver Trevor, including the exchange of whistles with "Leander" - a nice touch that! Thanks Bob, and best wishes for your holiday with Mrs M! Ken
Thanks Ken, it's quite rare to have an operational steam loco on this type of Railway, so that was an added bonus, Trevor was very kind in allowing me on the footplate, with the Jubilee passing, being the icing on the cake...Best wishes...Bob
What superb video Bob. Lovely weather and great coverage of this location. Getting the two trains together was something really special. Best wishes, Bill.
Thanks Chris, I haven't travelled on that train since 1968, and what with the footaplate ride and the shot with Leander...it was a great way to start our holiday...Regards...Bob
Another superb attraction and very well videoed Bob with some nice on board footage. I'm a little behind with my video viewing but looking forward to seeing more of your latest ones soon. Regards. Jeff.
Don't worry Jeff, I've had to purchase a new Laptop last week, and it's been a nightmare trying to keep up....Thanks as always for your support, and I look forward to hearing from you when you can...Regards...Bob
Fond memories, used to be part of the Marineland Amusement park, you walked across the lines entering the park. Rode the train many times as a kid. First time I ever saw doughnuts automatically frying near the station entrance. Happy days.
Brilliant Video Bob. Superb day filming. Truly memorable. You have got that magic touch at getting something special where ever you go. Fantastic.Best wishes C&A
Really cracking video our Bob...I would loved to have been there to ride on that Railway too...'Joan' looks a fine Loco as so do some of the others You showed...That clip of 'Joan' and 'Leander' whistling at each other gave me the Goosebumps again..awesome ! The Screen on the leading Carriage behind the Tender seemed to be a loss of having some nice Clag blown Your way...did look a bit odd...Bet You enjoyed the Cab ride !! ..Best wishes....Steve.
Thanks our Steve, this visit to the RMR was fantastic, they were so friendly and helful...cap ride and the dual shot with Leander I will remember for ever...Met up with C&A earlier, they've been up on a short break to see some steam....Did The Welsh Mountaineer with 46115 today...what more can I say...we're have a great time...All the best Steve...Bob
Did not take you long to get to the driving seat (or next to) Bob LOL...great Railway with some very nice scenics around the Park ..Joan sure running good for a Loco of that age ..looks like you are getting the better weather there ..long time since I visited Rhyl ..and looks like a lot has been done since my visit glad you showed the two salutes again ..Dave
It was a real treat Dave, they were a wonderful group there who couldn't have been more friendly...andI haven't been on this train for over 50 years....Bob
Another good video of your visit to Rhyl Bob. I noticed that there was a engine with my name on it in the shed. Not named after me because I do not have any connections there. Regards, Mike.
It was after discussing matters with the Railway staff, that this was a rare opportunity to be captured, and it certainly was something, I'll never forget Robert.
@@robmasterman My Mate is a driver at Arriva , were u one, I often think when Paignton watching Steam operations ? Used to go your ride 1950s with my Bruver was not cheap, we had ONE go, HAPPY DAYS !
The whole visit was special Austin, we couldn't have wished for a better welcome....Out capturing the Welsh Mountaineer, and still wall to wall sunshine, I was thinking about you when we followed the FR daown to Porthmadog in sunshine and blue skies, something that always seems to evade you and Pam on your visits....Regards...Bob
So far so good John, as you know the weather can be very unpredicatable up here. It's been a great holiday so far, and we're enjoying every minute of it....Regards...Bob
Well covered Bob and obviously had a great day. I'm sorry I couldn't visit recently for old times sake but at least I've seen what I missed. A nice editing job and I wasn't expecting to see the Leander/Joan shot again which was classic..... Now awaiting 46115 passing, did you schedule your holiday accordingly lol? Regards, Brian (PS did you get my message?).
Thanks Brian, I included the Leander shot again, as it completed the whole sequence on the RMR,...Had another great day yesterday capturing 46115...what a machine....I didn't know that these runs were during our holidays up here, but delighted when I found out...I haven't seen any messages from you...will have a look now...Regards...Bob
Robert Masterman although i have a feeling this was not coincidental, i know that rhyl station is a stone throw away and it’s easy to find out if there is a heritage tour loco coming through!
Great video, however, as a guard on a heritage line, at 7.00 , that is a very unsafe method of dispatch. The driver didn't check for a green flag/aspect whatsoever! Surely just hearing a whistle and assuming that is the right away is quite dangerous? Anyway yes, top video!
An interesting point Jack, unfortunately the Driver, who by the way was a BR Driver all his working life, can't see the train from where he is, as he's on a curve and there's a large screen blocking his view....No doubt H&S have cleared this for the safe conveyance of passengers....Thanks very much for your comments.
Thanks very much for watching my video, I missed your comment. Please give my regards to your Granddad Vernon, and I hope he's enjoyed seeing himself in my video...Best wishes ....Bob

good video. what a nice railway. was not expecting to see 45690 on the main line. a great shot with the 2 locos
Thanks again Matt, seeing the two gauges together was a real, and unexpected treat....Bob

That's a pretty big lake they've got there! And nice guest appearance from the Jubilee. That's a scene straight out of one of the Rev. Awdry's books.
Thanks very much Andrei, and they were my thoughts as the whole scene developed....Bob

I've missed this comment Mike, so my apologies for that....Thanks again for your kindness....Bob

@@NOOne-li1pj That's very kind of you to say so Alex...Thank you.
The exchange of the two loco whistles is quite comical.
The best part of the video Martin, and such a rare opportunity to catch a miniature and full size train in the same shot....Bob

Well, they got trucks to pull, so make an extra full. They never know the job that they couldn't do.
I no because he’s my grandpa and i work there!

It's been there for years Derek, and unfortunately like so many facilities, needs money to improve and survive.
