I like how at 3:56 an offhand comment, a parenthetical caption, and six still images are the only mention made to the fact that you ALSO built a Jeep (about eight years ago). Great video! You are truly an inspiration.
The transformation is unimaginable! It’s hard to believe is the same old camper that once looked beyond repair. This man did an awesome job to be really proud of! It’s like showroom quality.
I just got a 1952 camper. I've been watching restoration videos for tip and ideas but every video shows a complete teardown and rebuild with new, modern walls, floors, exterior tin,.... everything! Why not just buy an new camper? I LOVE your renovation! It looks like stepping into a 1950's weekend by the lake. Bravo! Beautiful! I adore your camper and can only hope that mine will be as cozy.
Agreed I like the older trailers designs they have a unique charm and character to them. All the other remodels look like generic stock, no personality at all.
What a great job instead of throwing old stuff out you restored it and it looks great. You have a great talent and if you had a portable toilet or bathroom in there, that would be great for someone living alone you could live in that full-time thanks The video was very relaxing to watch to see all the hard work you put into it. I can’t get over it. I’m so impressed.
I love this! Thank you for taking this old, forgotten trailer, and making it beautiful! I hope that you, and your wife are enjoying the heck out of it 🙂 ☮️💖🙏
Beautiful work. I’m glad you kept the original aluminum. All of those dings and scratches tell the story of this camper. With a new skin it probably wouldn’t be the same.
People always say that, but funny thing is not 1 buyer is gonna care about the "story" of it.... it's not a civil war gun, Some half hobo probably used it for storage for years and that's where he used to slam stuff into it when intoxicated. Amazing huh? 😁
Been uk caravaning for 40 years I own a 30 year old classic whitch we use almost all year round touring. But WHATCHING your video it realy took my breath anyway. What a BEAUTIFUL JOB YOU HAVE DONE. thank you for sharing this with us caravan and camping enthusiast.
Omg you are so blessed to have found this vintage camper! These things are priceless historical artifacts...thank you so much for restoring it to its former glory! Beautiful job!
I thought this would be a mobile gym by the end! lol thank you for the inspiration Duke! I am slowly learning woodworking through the power of the internet and lots of failures. I love it! Despite all the bad in the world, it truly is a great time to be alive.
Very inspirational video! Thanks so much. I just found a 1967 Forester 16' "8-Sleeper" for $700 today (with 2 new tires) and it will need an entire new interior, so I appreciate the example & encouragement!
When I was around 28, I got a hold of an old 16' trailer like that and updated the inside and I lived in it for a while. My new wife when we got married (I was 30 by then), lived in it for about three or four years, maybe longer, before we got an old Amish built 24 foot trailer we lived in for a few more. I think we lived in the trailers for about 8 years total. That was around 38 years ago when I first got it. Lots of memories!
Suzy the little blur coupe🤗 What a joy it must have been to see your project take shape. Great, Great job ! We have shows for those old beauties around here.
You did an awesome job and thanks for wood staining the inside as it originally looked instead of painting everything white. White paint is for house cabinets, not campers! Again great job saving this vintage camper!
Wow! Amazing restore… nice that you kept the western theme alive, modernly updating it would have taken so much away. Incredible when you have the tools and more importantly the TALENT & SKILL what one can accomplish 👍
Big Duke! Good to see you, brother, that restoration looks incredible! I totally agree with you that we live in a special time. I’m a lefty, and a more artistic type as far as natural proclivities go, but I have no excuse not to fix my own truck, or even mill my own lumber when there is a tutorial for just about everything. I intend on building your half rack after I’ve milled enough wood, so thanks for taking the time to make these videos, brother!
Fine looking camper, Congratulations! I liked the suitcases in the background, they looked like they belonged there. Now I'm off to find the interior video.
Thank you for this video. I just bought a 1997 Elddis Wirlwind here in the UK to start start my adventures. Just arrived 2 days ago, so I am cleaning it up and will take my time to transform it with some modern furnishings. It is in really good condition, so I will have a few cramping trips before doing it up🤞
You and your wife did an amazing job on the trailer. I myself had only built small things out of wood, well in 2015-2017 i built a teardrop trailer and i have to tell you i did not know i was capable of building some thing on that level, people say it is the best looking one they have ever seen, what a great feeling.
Nice work. I'm working on a 1967 Nomad travel trailer. It's been close to 3 years now and still in the process. It's amazing how you have been able to restore it back to it's vintage look. 👍
EXCELLENT Video... "Bravo" ... turned out BEAUTIFUL, I am working on a 1972 Tiny Travel Trailer... I know how hard it is. 1:56 behind you... above each window... is a rain drain? Where can I buy those? Thank you for sharing this great video.
So nice Mr. Duke! Very inspiring!!! I Wishing to think how to get one on my 38th birthday! Yep, You are the first phrase i wrote on my 38th birthday! hahaha ! Got to get one of these Vintage Camper! Great work!
I just found your video, and it gives me hope. We just bought a 1967(ish) 19ft kencraft trailer that is in a similar shape as your for $300, and plan on a full restoration as well!
Great video and I couldn’t agree more about using UA-cam to try new things! I built a teardrop camper from then ground up a couple years ago and it’s been a wonderful thing to own
Great project! I so relate to your comment that projects can sit there on the to do list and never get their turn at bat (how's that for some metaphor mixing!?) I retired three years ago and like the proverbial cobbler turning my attention to my own kids' shoes, I started tackling projects on our old house. While the todo list continues to grow, I do bask in the glory of the completed list too.
Thank you for sharing! Do you have more videos on the camper that are more in depth? I have gutted my 1960s zipper camper about a year ago and I am wanting to work on getting it remodeled. Most people say take off the skin and work inside out but I really do not want to do that. Would love to hear more about what you did and materials you used.
I have a 67 Serro Scotty and was going to tow it with my Bronco 2 but the spare tire and the bumper hitch made it easier to get in trouble. I use my Volvo with a reciever hitch now getting the ball out from the bumper helps in tight places. I could not tell which you had on your jeep
I love those vintage campers. That is nice. Beautiful. If I didn’t wear a leg brace I could do that. What satisfaction that would be. A week and and a half ago I bought a 1989 Toyota dolphin RV. The the inside and the engine were rebuilt in 2006. It’s still a little bit dated, but it doesn’t have carpet a bunch of garbage in it. Just needs a cleaning and that’s not that bad, surprisingly . I want to put a 12 V fridge in it. Take out the black water tank in the toilet for a composting toilet and put a new counter in it for now. I have all the solar power devices those are just for emergencies in the house like everybody should have. I can’t use the above the cab bunk so I don’t know what to do with that yet. if there’s a will, there’s a way because that’s what I have had to do all my life, figure it out. I lost my husband and he would’ve figured it out. I will have it done if I can find somebody? That’s not proving to be real easy.
wow, very impressive. I think it's gorgeous. The inspiration for the decor was very smart and works beautifully. Way to go. It does seem like they truly built things to last decades ago, more so than they do now. Then again, you make a good point about the helpful people on youtube.
Susie the Little Blue Coupe is one of my kids and my favorite classic cartoons.

This is beautiful. I love the color scheme with the wood interior. Well done!!! ❤

Glad you preserved the original character of the trailer. And did not add all the modern day conveniences. Keeps it light and ultimately usable.
Agreed I like the older trailers designs they have a unique charm and character to them. All the other remodels look like generic stock, no personality at all.
Great video!! LOL, you restore my faith that on some of my side projects that I intend to get to later... "That it IS POSSIBLE" to get to later!!!
The man the myth the legend. He's back
Hell yeah!!

You would love to work with him won't you ?

Wow. Nice job. I’ve schooled in building and now I am refinishing my whole old farmhouse. Slowly but surely. Very nice job

We need more DIY Duke videos 😀💪
This is a really kind-hearted video. Very encouraging. Thank you!
A canvas awning would look great that you can hook on & off & store inside your camper while traveling
Yes, definitely need that 😀

I found another one. Would you be available?
Awesome! Thanks Duke! We all do better if we ALL do better. Don't Stop :D Thanks again!
😀
Beautiful…I love how you kept the original features.
Finally...someone restored a vintage trailer that actually still looks vintage. Great job.
Beautiful. So glad you kept that ice box. It looks fantastic. Im very particular about curtains lol, they just make the atmosphere.
Fine looking camper, Congratulations! I liked the suitcases in the background, they looked like they belonged there. Now I'm off to find the interior video.

Great content, always enjoy watching your videos. Missed this one 9 months ago. Hope you upload more soon.
Great job , rebuilding a 1969 17 foot corsair right now and watch other builds when not workig on camper , you did awesome ...
I have a 1971 Bell and getting ready to redo interior. Never done it before and it's intimidating.

It is GORGEOUS! I love how you restored it instead of doing a modern renovation.
Nice work. I'm working on a 1967 Nomad travel trailer. It's been close to 3 years now and still in the process. It's amazing how you have been able to restore it back to it's vintage look. 👍
I was deployed when this video came out but man am I glad to see you still living your best life. 🤘🏼
Your a very kind, funny, and inspirational man Duke. That you for sharing everything you have on UA-cam. Both on this channel and buff dudes.
What a great theme for the westerner ❤I would love that one for my western art business

Amazing work and man skills, just like my husband has. God bless you both. ♥

I'm agog at your restoration of the Jeep and the trailer!
Just watched the video. Love it! Great job on the restoration and I love how y'all decorated it! Can't wait to see the tour of the trailer.

Where do you get your siding from and would you help somebody with an RV like a 1976 Toyota Chinook
Nice work Buff Duke and Buff Mom!
Great outcome awesoem restoration!
It’s so cute! Beautifully done. Your wife might enjoy searching for the trailers Ralph Lauren decorated or Mary Emmerling. They are wonderful!
Thank you, we have another video soon that shows the final decor 😀
Well when you got to it the results are excellent. Thanks for posting.
What an awesome job! I have one and it’s completely gutted. I can’t wait to get started with the restoration.
Very enjoyable and satisfying to complete one, have fun and get camping 😀
Awesome video! You did a great job! That thing is amazing. Hope you have some fun with it!
You did a great job on restoring it, kudos
Thank you 😊
What a great trailer! Amazing you were able to do so much clean work in just a month! Happy trails :)
Thank you 😀
Amazing job! I love what your wife Diane did with the inside theme. It looks so lovely!!
Thank you, I'll pass that along to her 😊
Thank you for sharing your build and greetings from Superior Montana
Looks phenomenal! Good work!
Nice job, looks great!!
Oh my goodness! My brother had suitcases like those when we were growing up - 50 years ago! I love it!!!
I would love to learn to how to do this kind of stuff.
Join my classes on vintage restoration and do it right instead of how this guy did it which was all wrong. If you join you will see why I say this.
Awesome! Is on my bucket list, restore a camper.
Great encouragement! Also, love the vintage luggage to go with it. :)
FANTASTIC JOB!!
Looks fantastic! Great work DIY Duke, hope you get to enjoy it soon!
Great work. Kind regards from across the pond. 👍🏻👊🏻
Awesome makeover!😃👍
Very 😎! I love what you have done and love how you are real about showing the original purpose of the camper.
What a restoration! It looks awesome!
Thank you for sharing! Do you have more videos on the camper that are more in depth? I have gutted my 1960s zipper camper about a year ago and I am wanting to work on getting it remodeled. We are starting on one. I love your theme.
I recognize you from Buff Dudes! Love your video, awesome job! This is my dream!
You both have done an amazing job with this camper.
What a beautiful job!! Wish I had your skills as I'm very slowly fixing up a 1969 "Rocket" trailer
Very, very nice work but how truly inspirational your words of encouragement are.

YOU can pull a travel trailer with a CJ5???
Well... it does have a V8 in it... at least my son's did... COOL!!!

How did you clean out the droppings? I can’t find a solid answer. I’ve been searching for years lol
Very nice job!
There is a really nice park in Plymouth, California. We lived there in an RV. They had a Vintage trailer show! Pretty amazing! 49er RV Village.
Great result well done.
