Pike Fishing with the StrikePro Buster Swimbait! (new lure 2020)

- Just a short session fishing for the first time with the new strike pro buster swimbait! The conditions were not the best for this lure but I managed a couple of fish on it anyway.

ROD - DAIWA PROREX XR 150G

*I used to fish with a Crippled Killer growing up in the 50/60’s and **enjoyable.fishing** recommend think this lure gas a smoother propeller action. It is a great surface lure.*
Replacement arrived!By the way, I did forget to mention that the original lure did have a decent strike however as most anglers will attest you can get a hit ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 and fish will hang on and release lure. I used the replacement lure yesterday and ran thru a Shimano Waxwing, Kastmaster, Bobber (set to sink). I found the does run deep (I casting on the flats 3.5'). Make sure you adjust your rate of retrieve and rod tip angle (up) to prevent getting snagged on bottom. Used it a couple of times and action was very lifelike (looked like local bait fish for trevally), craftsmanship very good....however eyeball fell out. I asked for replacement and it is on it's way! It was very easy to change out treble to single inline hook.

Great looking lure Dan, I need to stock up on my jerk baits when this hits the shops I'll be getting one that glide is so wide, excellent winter lure with a slower retrive ,looking forward to the next cheers

Hey Dan, been watching a few of your vids of late and you just got yourself an Aussie subscriber! I'm always interested to see how anglers in other places catch their fish. We don't have those Pike here but you never know when you might pick up some info that might help in your own fishing. I fish from a kayak a lot, can you use a kayak on those waters or are you limited to land based fishing only? Keep up the good work mate.

gave me the fear when he was unhooking without forceps or pliers, all takes is one flip o the fish and you a nice treble in ur finger or thumb🤣🤣🤣

Do you prefer this bait or the westin swim? I see they came out with a Buster swim recently so I guess it is replicating the easy swimming action of the Westin bait, ie more suited to spin stops instead of working the lure with the rod.
Looks a sweet lure mate can be tough I had 3 yesterday and lost 3 last week I had 8 and lost 8 and I thought conditions were better yesterday than last week

It's a great bait, unfortiently it's a bit to expensive for my taste, it's not a better bait than Westin Swim 12cm 58g sinking but it's like €5 more. I asume you tried the Westin Swim, thoose are my goto baits.

Glide on that looks great! I only have the one jerkbait, a 10cm fatso, not got much confidence in them compared to swimbaits but think i need to work on my retrieve more! Another great video though mate nice one! 👍
@@pikeandperch ill have to give it a go mate at the minute im literally going out and blanking 50% of the time and when i do catch its only one per session and maybe the odd blow up aswell, having 3 kids in tow doesnt help with that though 🤣

These lures are pretty expensive. How do you avoid losing them on snags?
Avoid throwing them in places where you can snag them, and go into the water to get it if it does snag.
Partner: how much are you spending on these lures?!?! Me: how much do you spend on our kids food?!
My biggest worry in life is that if I died my wife would sell my lures for how much I told her they cost and not the real worth haha

I have hundreds of lures, crank baits, jerk baits, stick baits , all fished with great success, however in forty years i have only caught one fish, a smallmouth bass, on a swimbait, i hate the stupid thing's. Great video as always. Maybe I'll try to convert.
