EckhartsLadder I just thought about this, there's a show called RVB (don't know if u seen it) but I was wondering if u could have the Freelancers (seasons 9-10) go against someone or something like Agent Maine vs Master Chief
EckhartsLadder Do a comparison video between universes. Like comparing Forerunner Tech to all the factions in Warhammer 40k like how far up there would the Forerunners be considered in the list of power in the 40k universe?
Lore wise: If even one planet was to be fully consumed by the Flood, the Flood would form a planet-sized brain known as a Keymind form, which is basically a Floodcursor. The Galaxy is going to be raped.
Let's not forget the CIS were developing a weapon that killed organics but left their droids unharmed. If they made that a ship based weapon they can destroy the infected planets from space until the Flood starts using shield generators.
SkyTech RTS sadly no the problem with all of that is that the forunners has that kind of tech and far beyond it simply doesn’t work against the flood as long as they have a gravemind to strategize against it i dont think the confederacy have anything the forruners hadn’t tried already
Flood: "I am an ambassador to the flood, i'm taking these creatures to Geonosis." CIS: "where are you taking them?" Flood: "To Geonosis." CIS: "Infect geonosis.. that doesn't compute uhhhhh YOUR UNDER ARREST."
@Travis L The flood corrupted Forerunner AI's and the quintillions of futuristic "robotic" sentinels and their factory shield worlds it brought to bear against them. Sentinels are way more advanced then anything in the CIS and there are alot more of them too (considering their are multiple hidden shield world factories the number of sentinels is, for all intents and purposes, an infinite resource). Not that it would need to capture any of those worlds to defeat the CIS.
Flood vs gungans: One flood spawn tries infecting jar-jar, decides to kill itself, the next flood spawn attaches to jar-jar, it too, decides to kill itself. A third flood spawn goes after jar-jar, alas, it decides to kill itself. Shortly after jar-jar decimates dozens of flood spawns by just being so disgusting and stupid, the remainder of the gungans decide to send jar-jar on a solo mission to destroy the gravemind. Jar-jar just stumbles through the flood encampment, being attacked by flood spawns that all decide to kill themselves after attaching to jar-jar. When jar-jar finally reaches the gravemind, the gravemind attempts to analyze jar-jar, jar-jar explains, “ Meesa sent to destroya yousa”. Gravemind, by now ready to commit suicide itself, begs jar-jar to just leave without speaking anymore, but jar-jar doesn’t listen, and after a few more incomprehensible exclamations, gravemind kills itself.
Yes, but to be effective you have to use it on large scale to be effective. not to mention if you don't kill every single flood spore in the area there is a chance the infection will start again without anyone noticing. and thats why the only way the forrunners were able to defeat the flood was by killing everyone including themselves and reseeding the galaxy with imprints of every species.
@sheldon pereira Ah, counter point, High charity the along with most of the defense fleet of High charity was completely infected. if one infected Ship gets into the deathstar, you have a large scale infection starting right in a super weapon.
killerinstinct59 the flood only consumed high charity because of the civil war going on. The flood were able to grow and infect without an organised defence shutting them down.
@@wood9738 The flood needs to evolve first. And we don't know if a logic bomb would work on battle droids. Their programming is extremely simple compared to a forerunner master AI. That's like saying a computer hacker could make your toaster mine bitcoin.
@@wood9738 That doesn't really justify much considering they lost to the Forerunners, and factions way less advanced than them like the unsc and the covenant
@@phurian_6560 you know that they only almost kill the flood for the halo rings and fire only works to burn the death boadys so that the flood dont use them again
The forerunners had a droid army that was technologically lightyears beyond anything we’ve seen in Star Wars, and were numerically superior having trillions of them per forerunner outpost. There is no scenario possible where the CIS or their droid army would win. Flood can infect droids/robots/AI as well with the logic plague, sentient or not.
@@marcovidal9782 not if we know where the flood came from and just wrecked them and their whole galaxy with a bomb. Or the droids copied their style with robotic droids. Like ai competion between logic plague maybe?
Elijah Caudle on the idea of a bomb, the halo rings were created to wipe out all organic life in the galaxy, the flood were so op that the forerunners said fuck it and pressed the reset button on every living organism in the universe, and it still didn’t stop the flood. On the idea of A.I vs logic plague, logic plague would still win, as we’ve seen every form of the most hyper intelligent A.I. fall to the logic plague in the Halo universe, and the A.I in Halo is astronomically light years ahead of A.I in Star Wars.
Even if that happened the flood can take many hits without dying and if the flood makes 1 open scar on a living being then they are infected. Also he never mentioned the confusion of the flood that when a grave mine is made then they achieve all the memories of any grave mind ever made in existence. Also the logic plague which infects AI if they are smart enough.
Irrelevant; the logic plague was able to corrupt a forerunner AI, something much more advanced than Droid AI's/brains. The CIS would become nothing more than a tool for whatever key mind they decided to piss off.
@@jamesshore3191 the logic plague would only be able to affect individu units not whole armies as the only connection between each droid unit was the shut off button
@@jamesshore3191 I think it’s the opposite, BECAUSE it was so advanced it was like an organic brain. However the battledroids of Star Wars are much simpler Also not to mention that after the battle of Naboo, they stopped centrally controlling all droids simultaneously on a battlefield. The reason why the droids could be turned off at the end of RotS is because the whole head of the CIS (now only being Palpatine), ordered it. And even then some fringe droids survived. I guess you could say that’s the weakpoint but that would be the weakpoint in any humanlike command structure. The flood simply are too strong with every part of them acting in perfect synchronization while also being able to replicate the entire flood from one cell if necessary
@@Icetea-2000 well man. Considering that a hundred trillion casualties is a low percentage of the population with the vong war killing over a hundred trillion people. And the droids are not part of the casualty mentioned in starwars. If they had 3 to 1 druids to flesh bags. And then had more years after winning to make more. I think the Droid army low key might just outnumber the flood too much for it to do anything unironically.
CIS: YOU UNDERESTIMATE MY POWER!!! The Flood: Don't try it! CIS: *Gets completely de-limbed, consumed, and its droid army shut down* The Flood: So uncivilized.
The Flood vs. WH40k Orks? Both are rapidly-spreading, fungal organisms; however, where the Flood consume other life to spread and advance, the Orks literally bring their own ecosystem with them. Also the Flood would have a tough time making use of Ork "technology" to, say, get to space since it's basically just scrap metal that works because the Orks believe it should work... It's possibly the silliest form of psychic powers ever, but it can be a real advantage. ... Also the Orks don't really have a civilian population and keep pets that are more terrifying and dangerous than most flood combat forms.
I believe it would be more accurate to say that the Flood had consumed the knowledge necessary to repair or otherwise jury-rig and improve once-functional Forerunner technology. The distinction here is that the Forerunner technology has some scientific (within setting) basis for working from the start. Ork "technology" never had a scientific (within setting or otherwise) basis for working. Their machines literally shouldn't work. But the machines perform their intended function anyway because a sufficient number of Orks believe they should function...and so the Ork's collective, latent psychic ability makes it so. I don't believe this is an effect that the Flood have demonstrated a capacity to replicate.
Nick Kellerhals Orks. For the flood to work, they need to consume. Well, Orks don't believe that muck. Orks have stompas, killa kans and all sorts of junk that only function for Orks and no one else. There has not been a single instance of Orks being taken over by Chaos, arguably one of the most corruptive forces in Sci-fi lore. If Chaos can't lay claim to their powers, if the Eldar and Tyranids can't get the Ork tech to work then no one can. Orks, however, could lose depending on how organised or large the 'WAAGGHH!!' is. A full scale 'WAAGGHH!!' has swallowed up whole systems.
Nick Kellerhals but you forget the fact that the ork can litteraly defy logic for esample the ork think that if they paint their vehicle red they go much more faster wich in the end become true the ork can believe to be immune to the flood infection and they will become immune to the flood infection immediatly
[PBG] PointBreakGalaxy The problem is the droids are actually dumb, so like nothings going to help or save them, unless a super tactical droid says their odds of survival are low, as we know super tactical droids never get anything right.
@@therebelfrogy9287 even though the flood would still win the logic plague probably can't infect the droids as droids are too stupid to comprehend he logic plauge.
@@guytonchristo8171 by the time they realise the threat of the situation, these leaders will be sent to locations that will keep them safe. Such as mustafar, a literal volcanic hellworld, and last time I checked, the flood's weakness is heat.
陳潔明 My issue with how Halo handles the Flood vs. the Forerunners is that they never say anything about how the Flood were actually able to overcome any of the insanely powerful technology that the Forerunners had. They just say "The Forerunners had all this, but it wasn't enough." We never get an explanation as to why, or a breakdown of how these conflicts played out. I feel like Bungie made the Forerunners as a general concept and never actually fleshed them out at first and then just said that the Flood beat them, and then just had to stick with that story even as they continued to establish the more and more powerful and advanced capabilities of the Forerunners without thinking of how the Flood would have actually been able to beat any of the stuff that the Forerunners had at their disposal.
I have a theory the Forerunner were cocky at the beginning, believing themselves as all powerful. So the flood were able to get early victory's which really turned the war in their favour
A few points about the Flood that I believe you could benefit from knowing: 1: Graveminds retain the memories of the past graveminds that existed before them. 2: If an AI is advanced enough to be considered sentient, they too can be infected via the 'Logic Plague'. 3: The flood can attach their pure biomass to electronic targets and take control of anything, so long as they can reach the wiring. 4: Flood combat forms have been known to pilot craft, if an infectee has the knowledge to do so.

@@linewater2690 no like I've openly heard the guy say that he likes Halo more as a series, being biased is just fact. But he did go on to stay in this video that he thinks that Star Wars is more powerful as a whole but he seems to research Halo side alot more thoroughly than the Star Wars side. You might want to take some of your own advice though friend because you're the one who seems salty over my small comment years after a video has been released just because somebody makes videos doesn't mean they know more about Star Wars then a diehard.. they are just a diehard who's trying to make money off it. I have more free time to study any aspect of Star Wars I want ( I like the Halo games but I don't have to waste time studying those as well) were as he is limited mostly to the subjects he is covering at the time. I'm not trying to toot my own horn but how the would you know my capacity of knowledge when it comes to Star Wars I have all the canon books, games and movies I've seen all the Animated Series, add-ons and spin-offs not to mention I have a collection of books that are both Legends and Canon. The guy who made the initial comment has a point if he can't pronounce Confederacy of independent systems properly when it's a key part of Star Wars and said many times on screen than I do I think you are giving him a bit too much credit
If the CIS have the willpower to eradicate the flood infection at all cost, and if they have the intel of the capability of Centerpoint station, the flood can be cauterized from the galaxy by great losses of lifes and systems. The centerpoint station is a great defensive tool to deal threats like this. The CIS starfleet has to initiate a complete lockdown of all known safe planet from interplanetary travel at all cost, and incinerate all the others. Some part of the galaxy can be saved if someone has the knowledge and will to do it.
Nah man the flood operate too fast for that to happen. And the biggest factor with star wars teams vs flood, is that the space travel in star wars is just way too good, reliable and fast,. All of that would just greatly help the flood out,.
Great video, but one thing: The flood cant actually infect things like battle droids or sentinels. The flood needs to use the logic plague to do this, which doesn't work on machines with no free will. Mendicant bias had free will and was able to think and decide, making him susceptible to the logic plague. So the forerunners created offensive bias, an A.I with no free will to counteract this in a way. As far as I can tell (And i'm no star wars expert), battle droids don't have a free will.
"While most (Promethean Soldiers, a type of combat sentinels) were originally expended in the fruitless war against the Flood or compromised by the logic plague, some were secretly left to guard key Forerunner sites in the ages following the firing of the Array." Logic Plague can infect machines with low intelligence and no free will.
The logic plague doesnt require free will, simply prolonged contact with the flood. Offensive bias did have free will the flood just never had the chance to infect him before the Halo Array was fired. Also, the flood can physically "Infect" machines such as droids and ships by growing biomass on them, as they did in their war against the Forerunners to amass a fleet of billions of ships
Leo Riordan flood take over ships by learning how to operate them by assimating pilots, they spread biomass over the controls of the skip. they can't infest individual droids the same way.
Actually the droids kinda do there has been stories of droids running off the battle fields and going rogue but because they run on batteries they die off eventually but I dont really know much about them either just that I've seen a video about one that ran off instead and explored the world untill it ran out of battery
I think you are over rating the flood this time, the CIS military has trillions of droid and cam pump them out almost as fast as the flood, not to mention their capital ships being able to slag planets, or their tanks shells that destroy organics but are harmless to droids. You do have a good point about the speed of infection and CIS reacting slowly, but that won't lead to a 10/10. You also disregarded people like Dooku, Grievous, or Maul who would be able to destroy countless flood forms singlehandedly
@@tanith117 but they are flood spores, so they can go through anything that isn't air tight, and no one knows that the flood exist, so they cant make a gas mask to stop the flood spores
@@baron2062 True, but I doubt either Sith would attack the flood with out some observation first, They would obviously send droids to check it out and study it, and then develop countermeasures before taking the field.
Seeing as the flood have the logic plague, the droid army is as good as doomed. The only being capable of rivaling their power being wat tembor and his sick beats.
That would be true except.. in order to induce the logic plague a grave mind must build up enough biomass. (The ability to induce the logic plague develops alongside the manifestation and growth of a Gravemind)- halo wiki) the leaders of the cis are force users and are capable of battle mediation they would sense the grave mind and use a superweapon to destroy it before it grew large enough to infect significant numbers of droids if any.
@@canadianbacon9819 it still wouldn't work. Not trying to downplay you but the reason it wouldn't work is because they simply aren't smart enough to think like that. Medicant bias and Cortana are sentient high intellectual beings, geniuses. They can think and be reasoned to corruption. It's the same as trying to argue with an idiot... you can't, they're too stupid and can't think at a high level. What the gravemind CAN do however, is if it wants to use the droids against the CIS it'd have to send an infection form to kill and capture a CIS scientist or whoever knows how the droids function to know that it has to capture wherever the droids are being controlled from and give the droids a new directive across the galaxy to help the flood.
while the logic plague may not be applicable to basic battle droids, Using infected people, the flood would not have too much trouble getting their hands on a tactical droid.
The logic plague took down Mandicate Bias that controlled the entire inner network of the Forerunners. From intel to weapons the Flood within seconds likely figured out the inner workings of the Forerunners and could run fully rampant. And there is evidence that the Flood likely in the Halo's 2 to 4 probably infected Cortana with the Logic plague. The logic plague is far more deadly that you all might think.... All it takes is to back door an AI once its inside it parasitically forces the AI to puke up info while also forcing the AI to go into premature explainable rampage. In other words the AI would rage and cause chaos. Such as turn on and off systems fry physical hardware. And in some cases go as far as killing its own creators.
that depends on how far in the flood are once they get key minds that have control over time and space and can warp reality you think im joking but im not
As far as I know flood got wiped out by one tin can man in games, and any other definition of the flood is nothing but delusions written by edglords trying to make a badass zombie virus stronger than others. I didn't mean to offense, fans be fans, but keep it to yourselves rather than *infesting* others Universes other ppl like that have actual games/movies/books, be it SW 40k Doom or any other source in here. (I mean Halo also has games and movies, but use the flood showing up in there, not in shit wikis (sry I don't like recent Halo scenarists/lore makers) or fanfics. Else anyone can go and add an abitlity to, let's say Necrons, making them immune to any kind of infection boom, have fun your Universe is shit compared to mine. Childish isn't it?)
In S1E14 of the clone wars series, the seperatists tested a defoliator artillery that incinerates every lifeform in a ~300m radius around the impact but leaves droids completely unharmed. They didnt persue that tech any further after that episode (probably because Palpatine said no), but they still have the blueprints for it. Such weapons would make every ground assault against the flood an almost secure win for the seperatists. And if they further develop it for ship weaponry they could completely sterilize ships the flood tries to use to spread. I think they do have a chance.
Riesenfriese that’s not enough the flood are way to numerous the fact is without a halo style weapon the flood can’t be beat and even the halo rings failed
Disagree entirely. The CIS. ... let's assume since they won they had one thousand worlds each with one hundred Droid factories. Each factory could produce hundreds of battle Droids per minute. In short. .. the CIS could produce ten million Droids per minute at a minimum . With only a single year that equates to upwards of five trillion!!!! The Flood would be overwhelmed even if they covered 100 worlds within minutes of engagement. Numbers were their main advantage and they would dominate even by the most conservative measure.
You should keep in mind that flood is very clever, like a general who out lived quadrillions of best generals and knows their tactics. If they act highly smart they may have the chance to get rid of the flood.
the base droids can not be corrupted, they're functioned and controlled by a command ship usually. If the commander was infected or destroyed, the droids could still operate on their own, but at a lot less efficiency. So maybe they could.
@@MrShellbuster Droid control ships were put out of commission early into the war and were later replaced with updated models that could and would think on their own, and seeing as all AI with free will are susceptible to the logic plague it is quite possible that the droids could be "infected" with it, but that would take far too much time for something as inefficient as a B1 unit.
Anytime there's a video with the Flood against something its always: (insert opponent or opponents) vs Flood, Flood always win. Reasons: -Keymind, nuf said
and don't forget that they become so smart that even the most advanced AI don't even compare, as well as they are able to corrupt all machines in later stages AND that makes your tech useless and you cant really use organic soldiers because they will just get infected, leak your intel and strategies where then the keyminds/graveminds can just destroy your WHOLE operation in seconds with that information alone rinse and repeat and the flood gets stronger while the enemy gets weaker
Flood in the later stage can move galaxies. ""The Flood changes everything. Not just flesh. Space itself is infected. That's the power the Precursors once had... isn't it? They shaped and moved galaxies. They created us. How can we manage to defeat them?" Halo Silentium pp.223-224.
Transgalatic stage Flood FUCKING DESTROYS EVERYTHING oh and transgalactic means has consumed a FUCKING UNIVERSE SO IMAGINE A FLOOD FORCE FROM THAT UNIVERSE YEP U WILL BE FUCKED IN 117 WAYS (get the joke?) but at younger stages yes they are weak but that doesn't mean that the flood can't just give the necrons the logic plague which can infect organics and AI most notably mendianct bias (sorry if I typed wrong) which is really intelligent and can make Cortana look like AI with an IQ of 245. so at later stages no necrons will lose but at younger stages yes but that all depends how fast the necrons can detect how bad the threat really is. Yes the necrons have superweapons but the forerunners did too and u know how that ended for them plus and the fact that the flood can simply infect necrons is unlikely but Im giving this one to the flood.
As a Necron player, I say that the Necrons win hands down. The Living Metal that the Necrons are made of would be immune to the Flood control, being an inorganic material with computers controlling it and a regenerative ability that can survive a lot in the OP reality known as Warhammer 40k. Not to mention the literal sentient pieces of gods they have inslaved......
One problem with this scenario is that the Death Star was not taken into account. It was designed by the Geonosians as a Separatist super weapon (as far as the Separatists were aware) So in a scenario where they pretty much had control of the galaxy, they would almost certainly have constructed it as a means to "persuade" cooperation. If a planet ever became infested beyond their control, they could simply destroy it.
@@toxicfireball2690 starkiller base does that too? a supernova destroys a star system, so does star killer base, the death star at its prime only took 1 hour to recharge and fire again. also, that argument is weak because the forerunners not only didn'tt ake the flood seriously, their soldiers were biological, not droids, prometheans were made so late into the war where they were out number a million to one.
Flood stomp, the only 40k factions that could stop them are chaos and necrons, and chaos would lose badly unless the chaos gods get involved because it takes way to long for the actually tget the powerful daemons there. Also the flood have no souls, so the daemons wouldn't even bother fighting them unless the chaos marines force them to. most of the necrons are still asleep so they would get wrecked to.
Since this is any point of time, Graveminds that are poweful enough to shitstomp a casual star busting empire aka the forunners will be everywhere God Emperor isn't soloing anything.
When a droid meet a lil flood parasite Droid= "hey lil guy." *flood infecting a dead clone.* Droid:" hey what are you doing holy moly its infecting a dead clone shooot."
Confederations are decentralized governments, The reaction time is far more faster than this clip shows. I think the CIS would detect the flood far more faster than the Empire or the Republiek and make sure that it would deal with in a early stage
That is assuming they get there the moment they arrive on the planet that is assuming a planet they control and that they can prevent spores from leaving. And you are assuming they know it is a threat already and is prepared for them.
Not to mention the speed of the communication in Star Wars. You honestly don't think that the second the flood started to break out in a planet, the local governor wouldn't inform his superiors?
That is assuming that they are able to do that(meaning the flood could very well just prevent them from doing so), that they are not a neutral planet or at the very least does not like them and that when the CIS gets there that they would easily destroy all of the flood easily. Which I doubt they can. Also by the time they do get there they (if on a planet with multiple ships) would have already left to dozens if not hundreds of other planets.
Kasper Kemppainen The Forerunners used controlled supernovae and they still could not stop the Flood. It took wiping out the entire galaxy to stop the Flood.
Everyone forgetting that the death star was instruction by the end of revenge of the sith the CIS would still build it since it was them that had the plans
The flood infection in halo had many more starting infected till noticed by humans, then withdrew organized, and slammed into forerunners in massive numbers. Plus the forerunners main command ai was corrupted. Without that the flood would have lost. Given cis ai are seperated, and advanced droids are individual intelligences, the flood would be contained once noticed.
At least one spore would have gotten onto a ship before the flood would be noticed and a suitable response was made, and the second flood spores start moving to other planets then it is nearly impossible to contain. Also once the flood forms a Gravemind then the CIS cannot win as that means the flood has enough intelligence to use the logic plague and take over all of the CIS's droids.
ODST Alpha-417 in almost every GG scifi, there are far worse threats than the Flood. A few examples. Q from Star Trek. Celestials from Star Wars. The Precursors from Halo itself. (Come on dudeski.) Half of Warhammer 40k. (It's honestly kind of ridiculous how OP every single thing in 40k is.) Soo many more. The Flood is a Lil bitch.
Tyranids not much different from Wong, just a bit higher power level. After the first dozens of infection, the flood will know ewerything, and act according to it.
if i know my wh40k lore right the tyranids are also extremely adaptive which can probably counter the flood's ability to adapt or maybe even disable the flood's ability to infect them
We don't know enough about the Cabal, but from simply playing through the campaign, it looks as if their ships are surprisingly small for a sci fi universe, so they probably aren't super powerful
They did, but the Flood didn't hold back against them nearly as much as it held back against the UNSC, because unlike the UNSC, the Forerunners were guilty of violating the Mantle, and were slated for execution as a species, to be carried out as soon as they reached their full potential, so that their elimination didn't itself violate the Mantle.
The Transformers are Non-Biological Extraterrestrial beings. They can't get infected because they are literally living machines, same as the Prometheans from Halo 4. This instantly gives them an overwhelming advantage over the Flood. So realistically it'd be a completely one-sided fight, especially if the Decepticons were the ones fighting the Flood.
Maxs transformers have internal weaponry right? so they could probably free themselves and destroy a grave mind before the plague could be fully utilized
I really do like your view on how this would go down between the 2 most fast spreading factions we can imagine, however I do have my own opinion on how this would go down, and I will respect yours by simply giving you my perspective. The Logic Plague or ability to corrupt advanced A.I is actually rather only effective or more pertinent if the AI is advanced enough to be self-sufficient and able to think on its own. The vast majority of the CIS's forces were DESIGNED to be less than self-sufficient and only self-aware enough only for effective battle operations. They did this to prevent the probability of possible droids defecting and ensuring full control over their own military, unless of course someone was to somehow hack them. Another thing, the CIS ACTUALLY maintained a tight grip or some sort of insurance plan to keep control over the systems they obtained allegiance with. The CIS may not have been the Empire but they certainly weren't the Republic in this respect. In fact, the only main issue I see with the CIS quelling this infestation is their leaders ability to react to it. If say Count Dooku or Sidious or even both were in control of this situation it would not take them too long to either search for or find a solution the spread of the infection, as they would be able to sense this mass disturbance as the Flood grew in numbers and the populations began to grow silent. They would no doubtingly ensure a quarantine of infected planets with ships orbiting them and would be prompted to barrage them from orbit for the safety of the CIS as a whole. Afterwards they send in ground forces with only droids for obvious reasons as that is the way they operate, and comb the planet for any signs of the Flood. For the Flood to even succeed or survive in this case, it would mean they would have to be very manipulative of either the some advanced AIs the CIS has, or find ways to obtain ships or passage to other worlds without notice from the CIS. It would leave for a very very wild an dangerous cat and mouse game but due to the way the Flood works and the sheer scale of danger they pose, I do not see the CIS taking too many risks in letting the Flood survive after they observe the way it spreads. Unless of course...someone wanted to try and have a new Bio-weapon...the end? However this is my opinion, and an opinion alone, I hope we all understand that. Thank you and keep up the good work!:)
First of all, I agree with you: if the Flood had taken over a planet, but the CIS was fully aware of the danger posed by the Flood and sent out a response team AND NO FLOOD HAD ESCAPED, then theoretically, they could shoot down anything attempting to leave the planet's surface and keep the infection localized. HOWEVER. The Flood infection travels at ridiculous speeds. By the time one planet had even a QUARTER of its surface controlled by the Flood, they would already possess minds capable of flying spare ships out to another planet. Since Eck said the planet they land on has access to star travel, this means that a good many systems would already be in the process of infection AS the first one was barely gaining attention. This would continue on and on: for every planet discovered to have an infection, ten more would get a new infection. The CIS simply couldn't respond in time, because they hear what was going on AFTER it was already too late to prevent further spread. Once Palpatine, for instance, could tell that a planet was going silent, it would already be too late to save the planet.
@avidanjaune2769 they wouldn't want to save an infected planet anyhow, more likely that if they did gain access to enough ships on a planet, though it'd have to be one with adequate and uniformed means of transportation in order for the flood to be able to utilize ALL forms of star transportation provided as there are a wide array available, we would have to acknowledge the fact that the CIS has in the past found means of blockading entire planets, systems and hyperspace lanes with totally autonomous fleets that would severely hamper the floods overall ability to feed on biomass to spread via intelligent lifeforms. Both sides have ample means of attaining success here but the CIS having entire fleets spanning over a galaxy of space that do not require living beings to maintain give them a MASSIVE advantage over the flood and should be viewed as such with that fact in mind since the forerunners, humans AND covenant lacked completely autonomous fleets and the diadact didn't start getting an edge until after digitizing humanity to become an autonomous force to be used against the flood which had GREAT success. I feel the CIS will benefit more, so here as a result. Always welcome to more perspectives, of course, but I'll be holding this point firmly ❤️🫡
depends on which replicators, are the Pegasus Galaxy replicators or are they the Asgaurdian replicators, because the later would destroy the flood if allowed to completely "eat" an entire solar system. Each humanoid "unit" if allowed to grow can beat a gravemind/keymind in calculations and intellegence, especially if there is multiple of them.
You know, every time i see one of these vids where you compare 2 factions you always give 1 faction an absolute handicap that makes the other one win. We didn't ask for a vid that shows if the CIS could protect the galaxy or not, we wanted to know who would fair best in a 1 on 1 battle. Stop crippling factions to make the other win
So how exactly could it be more balanced? The only reason why this video seems unbalanced to me is because one flood spore flew into a guy's mouth and soon turned into an infection form, from there once he blew up and started making new infection forms with new hosts bodies. Soon after gathering enough biomass from a backwater planet they would have a proto grave-mind ready and spreading out to space using nuro physics to keep tabs on thier population growth. This being said this would be if they landed in a back water planet, if they landed in a military guarded city the flood would be very handicapped but since they had several clone troopers helping out the war efforts it would lead to much more bio mass helping thier cause and soon creating a proto grave-mind. Remember this is the same Flood that maid covenant elites also Combat forms. Now if it was a military planet that purely used attack droids then yeah one guy gets infected the infection slowly grows more and more untill it's found and attacked with droids win for The Cis right? Well the logic plauge would help on this regard, in a fast explanation Droid: my Target is the infection That was located near this city Flood: But what if humanity is an infection that hurts themselfs? What if the city is already infected with useless races that don't help it but ruin it? Should life even be worth anything if you can't protect the already growing infection? Droid: I.... My target is the government. Though here's the thing about this, the more advantages where giving the CIS the more where admiting is that they need a handicap to keep up with the growing flood infestation, Wile the flood just used one spore. What if we have the flood a grave mind to start with and the CIS the location of that grave-mind and it's weakness to fire? Would they win? Nurophysics says no since some how nurophysics means you can transport anything with just thought or do the literal impossible. What if we gave the flood spore a wind blast and it lands somewhere that's full and ravaging with CIS droids on defense and multiple troopers ready for battle, they would win? Well yeah they literally found it all alone and killed it. Now I just want to know what would a fair senario be for you? I'd like to know because it would probably open my thoughts on this a bit more. So please tell me what would be a more fair senario for this to take place.
@@KirTheBeetle I said i wanted to see a 1 on 1 battle. He crippled the CIS by giving them a galaxy to protect. I dont care about the infection rate and all that crap. I want to see the comparison of a Super Battle Droid vs a Tank Floodform, a regular combat droid vs a human flood form etc. etc. Who would fair strongest? a flood fleet or a CIS fleet? Get it? I don't want to see the lore and infection compared, i want to see the power of the factions rising up against eachother.
These flood videos are always "Could xyz survive a Flood invasion". You can't really have a straight up fight against the flood as a comparison because the strength varies massively depending on the universe they've invaded, what stage of infection, amount of biomass etc.
The forerunners did try a purely cybernetic army to combat the flood, but it did not work. The Star Wars galaxy is much denser in biological life, the flood would eventually overwhelm the CIS
I disagree especially if using legends just because I think u underestimate the CIS ability to terminate life of a grand scale. If the population became infected they would have no problem with genocide the only ppl they would have to keep alive would be the high command which would be located on Mustafar (a planet the flood simply could not thrive and survive on. That leads us to satistics. Manpower and production capacity. The cis forces are massive. Like that largest military in fiction. By the end of the clone wars it was said to have over 1 quintillion troops. Don't get me wrong the flood will be able to infect almost intelligent living organisms in the whole galaxy. Which is above 100 quadrillion. That gives them a large standing force. Be even then they are still outnumbered 10 -1 there's just not enough bodies for them. Meanwhile the cis has 1000s of droid factorys that do not need organic operators to produce billions more would be made. If the tactics I've stated above are used then I have no doubt that the flood will be ground down. I consider sentinals weak compared to the fire power of the cis as a whole. The forrunners feared for their own lives, causing them to be unable to make the proper choices to achieve victory against the flood(ergo this is a completely different senario then what the fore runners faced. Literally matching a flood against a bigger flood that can't be infected.
Taylor Simons yeah but the biggest disadvantage of the CIS is that nearly all the CIS army is composed of droids the flood could easily control them thanks to the logic plague
JHONNO il meme perduto Logic plague's not that easy. It's not a plague in the traditional definition. The flood basically convinces an AI to fight for them. AI in starwars aren't usually that smart.
Skynet (Terminator) vs The Flood The year is 2032 and the war against humanity has been fought for a while now. Dispite several human victories, Skynet is still strong and capable of quickly expanding. Suddenly, a small meteor hits Earth; it carried a parasite that turns humans and other life forms into "zombies". What happens next?
If a band of half-starved, probably cancer-ridden resistance fighters could ultimately smash Skynet's defense grid, I don't see how it would fare much better against a Flood infection.
Good Lord, imagine if the Flood managed to assimilate a Force user and gave a Gravemind Force powers?! Given how the Flood utilize and process biomass to propagate, there's no reason to think the Flood supercell couldn't mutate combat forms to be Force sensitive by artificially producing midichlorians in any infected biomass.
Imagine if the first place they landed was the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. They'd have the entire historical gathered knowledge of both the Jedi Order and the Republic along with over a trillion hosts. They'd also have access to the Sith vaults buried deep deep deep under the Jedi Temple and the street smarts of the population of the lower levels. They'd essentially have the entire gathered knowledge throughout all of galactic history as well as control of all the technology in the galaxy. Between the force users in the temple and the population of the planet it would immediately be game over for the entire galaxy. It would essentially be impossible to even enter that star system and they'd quickly blockade the planet. There's genuinely no way that the CIS could put up a fight and there are few factions in all of sci-fi who could even make it halfway through one battle. It would be like Mike Tyson in his prime against an 80 year old lady.
I kind of disagree on this analysis, at least in the finer details of things. I still believe the Flood has a high chance of winning, but not to the degree stated in the video. In this scenario, their manufacturing would be unrestricted, and they would be allowed to make more advanced units, as Palpatine heavily nerfed the CIS so that they wouldn't win. We could easily have all organic life outnumbered by hundreds to one. By this point, they could have produced more efficient and advanced droids that could have still operated with similar programming that kept the droid army loyal 99.9% of the time. I feel like even though the Flood is probably one of the most overpowered forces in fiction, it doesn't mean they'll win every time. I feel like he glossed over too many topics and assumed too much to give the CIS a fighting chance. They had anti-organic super weapons that they could have been perfected, again without disruption from the Republic and especially Palpatine, and they could have easily given all their units disruptor blasters, which destroy matter on a cellular level. Not to mention, just because droid AI is less superior in SW, it doesn't mean it's less efficient in this scenario, as the only reason the logic plague was so effective was because the Forerunner AI was smarter and had more control over more things. In the case of the droid army, after the battle of Naboo, they made all their units individual, which means it would be much, much more legwork for the Flood to even have a battalion of droids on their side. Even then, that has a high likelihood of failing, whether it be the simple minds of the units not being affected at all, or by being destroyed by other units because it would be deemed defective. It just wouldn't be effective fundamentally. The droids were so basic that they would choose their primary directive over any order that could be considered even the slightest treasonous to the CIS. The only way they could defeated is by the mass shutdown order. Any other tactic against the droid army would end horribly for the Flood, since the droids could be endlessly reproduced, recycled, and specialized to combat nearly any foe. However, obviously, the Flood would be intelligent enough to know this. Even with a shutdown order, some tactical droids could ignore it, so they'd have to disguise their logic plague as an update to their programming. Again, not saying the Flood couldn't win, but simply that it isn't as simple as it is in the video. If anyone has anything to add to either side, I'd love to talk about it.

The Borg were made as a reference to the Cybermen, and the Cybermen managed to force an entire Galaxy to be destroyed just to stop them, so I think the Cybermen win hands down.
Taran Walters Yes and no. The Borg and the Cybermen continuisly inspired each other. Meanwhile about the real versus I think you underestimate the Borg, mostly because I think Nanocells are superior to the thing Cybermen use. Also remember that Cybermen started using direct assimilation only lately, meanwhile the Borg used Nanocells for a long time.
+Leevi Go away. +Kenneth It would basically be like Tarsonis all over again except even worse because UNSC ground equipment is much closer to 21st century tech than StarCraft (which is slightly earlier in the 2500s than Halo but with more advanced tech)

It doesn't even matter in the End Just enjoy whats there and if you have a problem with it than just be quiet cause most people dont care and just want to enjoy all of it
The CIS having less advanced AI would actually help them in this scenario. The main reason the forerunners failed is because their most advanced I was corrupted by what is believed to be the original flood.
@Ivan HERNANDEZ It can my dude. It infected plenty of smart and dumb AI programmed to be loyal to the Forerunners, it could definitely do so to droids.
@Ivan HERNANDEZ it's not persuasion, it uses the core programming of the AI to corrupt it. It's a gross over simplification, but it's basically like "Your core directive is to help xyz, but xyz are doomed so the best way to help them is a quick and painless death".
it is interesting scenario however, you missed that death star was originally separatist weapon as we see dooku transport its plans to palpatine in end of attack of the clones so they might have planet destroying weapon staffed with droids (so its invincible too flood) sent on course to destroy every planet with flood infestations
Not invincible to Flood, as the Flood easily infects artificial intelligences, dumb and smart alike with the Logic Plague, turning them to the Flood's side.

Lore wise: If even one planet was to be fully consumed by the Flood, the Flood would form a planet-sized brain known as a Keymind form, which is basically a Floodcursor. The Galaxy is going to be raped.

Sentinels are way more advanced then anything in the CIS and there are alot more of them too (considering their are multiple hidden shield world factories the number of sentinels is, for all intents and purposes, an infinite resource).

Flood vs gungans:
One flood spawn tries infecting jar-jar, decides to kill itself, the next flood spawn attaches to jar-jar, it too, decides to kill itself.

On the idea of A.I vs logic plague, logic plague would still win, as we’ve seen every form of the most hyper intelligent A.I. fall to the logic plague in the Halo universe, and the A.I in Halo is astronomically light years ahead of A.I in Star Wars.

Also not to mention that after the battle of Naboo, they stopped centrally controlling all droids simultaneously on a battlefield.
The reason why the droids could be turned off at the end of RotS is because the whole head of the CIS (now only being Palpatine), ordered it. And even then some fringe droids survived.
I guess you could say that’s the weakpoint but that would be the weakpoint in any humanlike command structure.

Emperor palpatine omg yes!!!
They both throw destructive blue balls.
The Flood did activate High Charity's powerless and broken FTL drive and maximize its effectiveness by believing it.
Incorrect. Orks do not use technology. They use tecknology. Much better, far more OrKy.
Nick Kellerhals but you forget the fact that the ork can litteraly defy logic for esample the ork think that if they paint their vehicle red they go much more faster wich in the end become true the ork can believe to be immune to the flood infection and they will become immune to the flood infection immediatly

A few points about the Flood that I believe you could benefit from knowing:
1: Graveminds retain the memories of the past graveminds that existed before them.

Forerunners have more Centerpoint stations, Death Stars, Sun Crushers. They are barely winning.
Nah man the flood operate too fast for that to happen. And the biggest factor with star wars teams vs flood, is that the space travel in star wars is just way too good, reliable and fast,. All of that would just greatly help the flood out,.
Two words. Logic plague
Logic plague works only on advanced AI and takes time so it won't work very well against star wars droids
In the book Silentium, Logic Plague worked so fast that Forerunners forbid any contact between any AIs with the Flood. Sentinels were turned as well.
"While most (Promethean Soldiers, a type of combat sentinels) were originally expended in the fruitless war against the Flood or compromised by the logic plague, some were secretly left to guard key Forerunner sites in the ages following the firing of the Array."
Logic Plague can infect machines with low intelligence and no free will.
@@genovaz Yea, when they control a ship like that its literally just flood biomass filling holes and pressing buttons etc, not magic tech-infection.

@@baron2062 True, but I doubt either Sith would attack the flood with out some observation first, They would obviously send droids to check it out and study it, and then develop countermeasures before taking the field.
Ragaee Daoud the logic plague would turn the droids against the Galaxy
Seeing as the flood have the logic plague, the droid army is as good as doomed. The only being capable of rivaling their power being wat tembor and his sick beats.
You don't know the droid army at all do you? Those simple minded drones will prioritize their programing as main directive.
@@East_Coast_Toasty_Boy If they used control ships the gravemind could corrupt them.
@@dr.vanilla9017 yes. Although not really corrupting them since giving them a new directive would be a legal way to go about it but yes.

But flood is more intelligent than Powerful Forerunner AI
while the logic plague may not be applicable to basic battle droids, Using infected people, the flood would not have too much trouble getting their hands on a tactical droid.
the more primitive the AI, the easier it is to infect it with the logic plague.

starkiller xxx0 I’m just pointing out that the “Logic Plauge” is a misnomer
The droids are told what to do by a control tower. If a Gravemind forms they have to takes control of the a.i in the tower and bam. Flood wins

@ChasCT2 to be fair the reason forerunners lost is because of their a.I.

Koty Wilkinson I don't think that droids are even smart enough to be corrupted. You can't convince them to mutiny.
the base droids can not be corrupted, they're functioned and controlled by a command ship usually.

You have to think like this, they have full control of galactic production and a fleet capable of blockaiding many planets

Ok , ok , we know that the CIS always loses!!!
To be fair, the CIS was always meant to lose.

depends on which replicators, are the Pegasus Galaxy replicators or are they the Asgaurdian replicators, because the later would destroy the flood if allowed to completely "eat" an entire solar system. Each humanoid "unit" if allowed to grow can beat a gravemind/keymind in calculations and intellegence, especially if there is multiple of them.
Remember, the forerunners tried using robots to stop the flood, didn’t exactly work. And those weren’t designed to lose the war

The flood wins easily
The CIS do have the anit biomatter weapons they would probably use from orbit
You know, every time i see one of these vids where you compare 2 factions you always give 1 faction an absolute handicap that makes the other one win.
We didn't ask for a vid that shows if the CIS could protect the galaxy or not, we wanted to know who would fair best in a 1 on 1 battle.
Stop crippling factions to make the other win
Yeah, he always overlooks several key factors that contribute to a faction's effectiveness and ineffectiveness, making everything unbalanced af.
Well the logic plauge would help on this regard, in a fast explanation
Droid: my Target is the infection That was located near this city
Flood: But what if humanity is an infection that hurts themselfs?

JHONNO il meme perduto but they also have billions of organics 100 billion on geonosis alone
Taylor Simons still the flood wins because he can infect them and/or turn them into biomass
JHONNO il meme perduto Logic plague's not that easy. It's not a plague in the traditional definition.
The flood basically convinces an AI to fight for them. AI in starwars aren't usually that smart.
Anxious Earth especially the cis battle droid
Skynet (Terminator) vs The Flood
The year is 2032 and the war against humanity has been fought for a while now. Dispite several human victories, Skynet is still strong and capable of quickly expanding. Suddenly, a small meteor hits Earth; it carried a parasite that turns humans and other life forms into "zombies".
What happens next?
Lord Vader logic plague nuff said
If a band of half-starved, probably cancer-ridden resistance fighters could ultimately smash Skynet's defense grid, I don't see how it would fare much better against a Flood infection.
The Flood vs Species 8472 from Star Trek. Make it happen!
@@Tyrone-v2r well I guess I'm not sleeping tonight after contemplating _that_ terrifying scenario!
CIS vs UNSC
1-The System alliance (Mass Effect) vs the 12th Colonies before the Cylon war (Battle Star Galactica).
2-A Borg cube (Star Trek) with a lot of ZPMs (I don't know, 100k?) (Star Gate) vs EVERYTHING.
3-The cybermen vs the Borg.
4-The Federation fleet from Star Trek DS9: Sacrifice of the Angels vs the Imperial fleet at the battle of Endor or the CIS fleet at Coruscant.
You choose if incorporating the Klingon reinforcements.
www.trekbbs.com/threads/klingon-ships-in-sacrifice-of-angels-numbers.192646/
memory-alpha.wikia.com/wiki/Operation_Return.
5-A Tyranids/Zerg/Flood hybrid at their full strength vs the United Halo, W40k and Starcraft universes.
6-Wraith (Stargate Atlantis) vs Empire (Star Wars)
You can both do Galactic versus and Ship versus.
7-Good vs Bad (first suggested by CT-3121 "Caboose"):
White corner: Systems Alliance (Mass Effect), United Federation of Planets (Star Trek), post-GCW2 Galactic Alliance (Star Wars), 12 Colonies
VS
Black Corner: Sith Empire (SWTOR), Klingon Empire, CIS, Cylons
8-The Doctor, the temporal agent Daniels and Magnus need to stop a Dalek invasion force from invading the 40k Galaxy.
They are on board of an Hades-class cruiser that can be modified by both the Doctor and by Daniels.
9-(Suggested by Thad) the Geth vs the Cylons.
Sergente A do stuff on stagate
The Borg were made as a reference to the Cybermen, and the Cybermen managed to force an entire Galaxy to be destroyed just to stop them, so I think the Cybermen win hands down.
Taran Walters Yes and no.
The Borg and the Cybermen continuisly inspired each other.
Meanwhile about the real versus I think you underestimate the Borg, mostly because I think Nanocells are superior to the thing Cybermen use.
Also remember that Cybermen started using direct assimilation only lately, meanwhile the Borg used Nanocells for a long time.
Meme Man What?
Imagine if a flood infected a Jedi. Now every single force sensitive host has Jedi equivalent training! Imagine a force using zombie army!
The force doesn't really works like that from what I seen it's more into their souls which use it
The flood vs the tsunami
Did u get it?
Ha
CAS ( Halo ) class vs First order Resurgence class ( Star Wars )
Eckharts, remember halo wars 2 awakening of the nightmare changed the flood some
Aserkill fuk halo wars 2 lore
Logic plague.....that’s all that needs to be said
Top 5 Imperial commanders from canon
Kenneth Kates Still think this would be an awesome episode. Out of interest, what would be your 5?
Jeff Vader
1) Emperor Palpatine
2) Admiral Thrawn
3) Gallius Rax
4) Admiral Sloan
5) Admiral Versio
Kenneth Kates fair enough. Mine is
1) Grand Admiral Thrawn
2) Colonel Yularen
3) Grand Admiral Sloane
4) Gallius Rax
5) Eli Vanto
Yes
I forgot General Veers, ties Admiral Varsio.
black light vs flood
Mic Clank prototype fan too?
Elite Ultra no
Mic Clank the flood curb stomp
+Elite Ultra no but I am, I kind of started this, kind of a meme now, but I legit want it, also +The Lone Hunter Blacklight wins boi
My money is on flood
Zerg, from StarCraft, invasion of Reach, Halo.
Had the same Idea
Or how about:
The Zerg or the Protoss against the star wars universe
Or
The Xel'naga against the Celestials
Why copycats Just use tyrandis
+Leevi
Go away.
+Kenneth
It would basically be like Tarsonis all over again except even worse because UNSC ground equipment is much closer to 21st century tech than StarCraft (which is slightly earlier in the 2500s than Halo but with more advanced tech)
Leevi Lukkarinen Everything has its inspiration could be that they copyed it but could also be that they just had something simillar like most of the inspiration comes from nature and such and even the greatest new games often copy old ones or have the same idea.
It doesn't even matter in the End
Just enjoy whats there and if you have a problem with it than just be quiet cause most people dont care and just want to enjoy all of it
What about Zurg from Toy Story vs Reach?
Imagine a sith lord being taken by the flood. The Flood gains knowledge to use dark force power?
The CIS having less advanced AI would actually help them in this scenario. The main reason the forerunners failed is because their most advanced I was corrupted by what is believed to be the original flood.
Logic plague can still effect dumb AI.
@Ivan HERNANDEZ Forerunner AI were programmed with loyalty yo the forerunner. They were FORCED to be loyal, and Mendicant Bias was still corrupted.
@@SuicidalTurnip ua-cam.com/video/r_nK51C9MlwV/v-deo.html idk, this was pretty persuasive to me mate.
Flood Vs. Necrons.
Necrons win, hands down. The flood get blasted to atoms before the logic plague can take effect
What about the necrons (40k) vs. the flood. They are 100% mechanical, so I think they would have the best chance. That or the tyranids vs the flood.
Imagine a infected general Grievous
The cis would win with the techno Union army
Harrower Dreadnaught vs Venator Star Destroyer
Do the bugs from starship troopers vs the flood
Flood, easily.
Vincent Casentini Starship trooper would win.
it is interesting scenario however, you missed that death star was originally separatist weapon as we see dooku transport its plans to palpatine in end of attack of the clones so they might have planet destroying weapon staffed with droids (so its invincible too flood) sent on course to destroy every planet with flood infestations
Not invincible to Flood, as the Flood easily infects artificial intelligences, dumb and smart alike with the Logic Plague, turning them to the Flood's side.
