      Lore wise: If even one planet was to be fully consumed by the Flood, the Flood would form a planet-sized brain known as a Keymind form, which is basically a Floodcursor. The Galaxy is going to be raped.

Sentinels are way more advanced then anything in the CIS and there are alot more of them too (considering their are multiple hidden shield world factories the number of sentinels is, for all intents and purposes, an infinite resource).

    Flood vs gungans:
    One flood spawn tries infecting jar-jar, decides to kill itself, the next flood spawn attaches to jar-jar, it too, decides to kill itself. A third flood spawn goes after jar-jar, alas, it decides to kill itself. Shortly after jar-jar decimates dozens of flood spawns by just being so disgusting and stupid, the remainder of the gungans decide to send jar-jar on a solo mission to destroy the gravemind. Jar-jar just stumbles through the flood encampment, being attacked by flood spawns that all decide to kill themselves after attaching to jar-jar. When jar-jar finally reaches the gravemind, the gravemind attempts to analyze jar-jar, jar-jar explains, “ Meesa sent to destroya yousa”. Gravemind, by now ready to commit suicide itself, begs jar-jar to just leave without speaking anymore, but jar-jar doesn’t listen, and after a few more incomprehensible exclamations, gravemind kills itself.

      The forerunners had a droid army that was technologically lightyears beyond anything we’ve seen in Star Wars, and were numerically superior having trillions of them per forerunner outpost. There is no scenario possible where the CIS or their droid army would win. Flood can infect droids/robots/AI as well with the logic plague, sentient or not.

      On the idea of A.I vs logic plague, logic plague would still win, as we’ve seen every form of the most hyper intelligent A.I. fall to the logic plague in the Halo universe, and the A.I in Halo is astronomically light years ahead of A.I in Star Wars.

      @@jamesshore3191 I think it’s the opposite, BECAUSE it was so advanced it was like an organic brain. However the battledroids of Star Wars are much simpler
      Also not to mention that after the battle of Naboo, they stopped centrally controlling all droids simultaneously on a battlefield.
      The reason why the droids could be turned off at the end of RotS is because the whole head of the CIS (now only being Palpatine), ordered it. And even then some fringe droids survived.
      I guess you could say that’s the weakpoint but that would be the weakpoint in any humanlike command structure.
      The flood simply are too strong with every part of them acting in perfect synchronization while also being able to replicate the entire flood from one cell if necessary

    The Flood vs. WH40k Orks?
    Both are rapidly-spreading, fungal organisms; however, where the Flood consume other life to spread and advance, the Orks literally bring their own ecosystem with them. Also the Flood would have a tough time making use of Ork "technology" to, say, get to space since it's basically just scrap metal that works because the Orks believe it should work... It's possibly the silliest form of psychic powers ever, but it can be a real advantage.
    ... Also the Orks don't really have a civilian population and keep pets that are more terrifying and dangerous than most flood combat forms.

    • @陳潔明-w6y

      @NickK1291 6 років тому +95

      I believe it would be more accurate to say that the Flood had consumed the knowledge necessary to repair or otherwise jury-rig and improve once-functional Forerunner technology. The distinction here is that the Forerunner technology has some scientific (within setting) basis for working from the start. Ork "technology" never had a scientific (within setting or otherwise) basis for working. Their machines literally shouldn't work. But the machines perform their intended function anyway because a sufficient number of Orks believe they should function...and so the Ork's collective, latent psychic ability makes it so. I don't believe this is an effect that the Flood have demonstrated a capacity to replicate.

    • @ahzekahriman5840
      @ahzekahriman5840 6 років тому +71

      Nick Kellerhals Orks. For the flood to work, they need to consume. Well, Orks don't believe that muck. Orks have stompas, killa kans and all sorts of junk that only function for Orks and no one else.
      There has not been a single instance of Orks being taken over by Chaos, arguably one of the most corruptive forces in Sci-fi lore. If Chaos can't lay claim to their powers, if the Eldar and Tyranids can't get the Ork tech to work then no one can.
      Orks, however, could lose depending on how organised or large the 'WAAGGHH!!' is. A full scale 'WAAGGHH!!' has swallowed up whole systems.

      陳潔明 My issue with how Halo handles the Flood vs. the Forerunners is that they never say anything about how the Flood were actually able to overcome any of the insanely powerful technology that the Forerunners had. They just say "The Forerunners had all this, but it wasn't enough." We never get an explanation as to why, or a breakdown of how these conflicts played out.
      I feel like Bungie made the Forerunners as a general concept and never actually fleshed them out at first and then just said that the Flood beat them, and then just had to stick with that story even as they continued to establish the more and more powerful and advanced capabilities of the Forerunners without thinking of how the Flood would have actually been able to beat any of the stuff that the Forerunners had at their disposal.

    A few points about the Flood that I believe you could benefit from knowing:
    1: Graveminds retain the memories of the past graveminds that existed before them.
    2: If an AI is advanced enough to be considered sentient, they too can be infected via the 'Logic Plague'.
    3: The flood can attach their pure biomass to electronic targets and take control of anything, so long as they can reach the wiring.
    4: Flood combat forms have been known to pilot craft, if an infectee has the knowledge to do so.

    Great video, but one thing: The flood cant actually infect things like battle droids or sentinels. The flood needs to use the logic plague to do this, which doesn't work on machines with no free will. Mendicant bias had free will and was able to think and decide, making him susceptible to the logic plague. So the forerunners created offensive bias, an A.I with no free will to counteract this in a way. As far as I can tell (And i'm no star wars expert), battle droids don't have a free will.

      The logic plague took down Mandicate Bias that controlled the entire inner network of the Forerunners. From intel to weapons the Flood within seconds likely figured out the inner workings of the Forerunners and could run fully rampant.
      And there is evidence that the Flood likely in the Halo's 2 to 4 probably infected Cortana with the Logic plague.
      The logic plague is far more deadly that you all might think.... All it takes is to back door an AI once its inside it parasitically forces the AI to puke up info while also forcing the AI to go into premature explainable rampage. Transgalatic stage Flood FUCKING DESTROYS EVERYTHING oh and transgalactic means has consumed a FUCKING UNIVERSE SO IMAGINE A FLOOD FORCE FROM THAT UNIVERSE YEP U WILL BE FUCKED IN 117 WAYS (get the joke?) but at younger stages yes they are weak but that doesn't mean that the flood can't just give the necrons the logic plague which can infect organics and AI most notably mendianct bias (sorry if I typed wrong) which is really intelligent and can make Cortana look like AI with an IQ of 245. so at later stages no necrons will lose but at younger stages yes but that all depends how fast the necrons can detect how bad the threat really is. Yes the necrons have superweapons but the forerunners did too and u know how that ended for them plus and the fact that the flood can simply infect necrons is unlikely but Im giving this one to the flood.

    One problem with this scenario is that the Death Star was not taken into account. It was designed by the Geonosians as a Separatist super weapon (as far as the Separatists were aware) So in a scenario where they pretty much had control of the galaxy, they would almost certainly have constructed it as a means to "persuade" cooperation. If a planet ever became infested beyond their control, they could simply destroy it.

    I really do like your view on how this would go down between the 2 most fast spreading factions we can imagine, however I do have my own opinion on how this would go down, and I will respect yours by simply giving you my perspective. The Logic Plague or ability to corrupt advanced A.I is actually rather only effective or more pertinent if the AI is advanced enough to be self-sufficient and able to think on its own. The vast majority of the CIS's forces were DESIGNED to be less than self-sufficient and only self-aware enough only for effective battle operations. They did this to prevent the probability of possible droids defecting and ensuring full control over their own military, unless of course someone was to somehow hack them. Another thing, the CIS ACTUALLY maintained a tight grip or some sort of insurance plan to keep control over the systems they obtained allegiance with. The CIS may not have been the Empire but they certainly weren't the Republic in this respect. In fact, the only main issue I see with the CIS quelling this infestation is their leaders ability to react to it. If say Count Dooku or Sidious or even both were in control of this situation it would not take them too long to either search for or find a solution the spread of the infection, as they would be able to sense this mass disturbance as the Flood grew in numbers and the populations began to grow silent. They would no doubtingly ensure a quarantine of infected planets with ships orbiting them and would be prompted to barrage them from orbit for the safety of the CIS as a whole. Afterwards they send in ground forces with only droids for obvious reasons as that is the way they operate, and comb the planet for any signs of the Flood. For the Flood to even succeed or survive in this case, it would mean they would have to be very manipulative of either the some advanced AIs the CIS has, or find ways to obtain ships or passage to other worlds without notice from the CIS. It would leave for a very very wild an dangerous cat and mouse game but due to the way the Flood works and the sheer scale of danger they pose, I do not see the CIS taking too many risks in letting the Flood survive after they observe the way it spreads. Unless of course...someone wanted to try and have a new Bio-weapon...the end? However this is my opinion, and an opinion alone, I hope we all understand that. Thank you and keep up the good work!:)

    • @avidanjaune2769
      @avidanjaune2769 2 роки тому

      First of all, I agree with you: if the Flood had taken over a planet, but the CIS was fully aware of the danger posed by the Flood and sent out a response team AND NO FLOOD HAD ESCAPED, then theoretically, they could shoot down anything attempting to leave the planet's surface and keep the infection localized.
      HOWEVER. The Flood infection travels at ridiculous speeds. By the time one planet had even a QUARTER of its surface controlled by the Flood, they would already possess minds capable of flying spare ships out to another planet. Since Eck said the planet they land on has access to star travel, this means that a good many systems would already be in the process of infection AS the first one was barely gaining attention. This would continue on and on: for every planet discovered to have an infection, ten more would get a new infection. The CIS simply couldn't respond in time, because they hear what was going on AFTER it was already too late to prevent further spread. Once Palpatine, for instance, could tell that a planet was going silent, it would already be too late to save the planet.

    • @QueenRaven516
      @QueenRaven516 2 роки тому

      @avidanjaune2769 they wouldn't want to save an infected planet anyhow, more likely that if they did gain access to enough ships on a planet, though it'd have to be one with adequate and uniformed means of transportation in order for the flood to be able to utilize ALL forms of star transportation provided as there are a wide array available, we would have to acknowledge the fact that the CIS has in the past found means of blockading entire planets, systems and hyperspace lanes with totally autonomous fleets that would severely hamper the floods overall ability to feed on biomass to spread via intelligent lifeforms. Both sides have ample means of attaining success here but the CIS having entire fleets spanning over a galaxy of space that do not require living beings to maintain give them a MASSIVE advantage over the flood and should be viewed as such with that fact in mind since the forerunners, humans AND covenant lacked completely autonomous fleets and the diadact didn't start getting an edge until after digitizing humanity to become an autonomous force to be used against the flood which had GREAT success. I feel the CIS will benefit more, so here as a result. Always welcome to more perspectives, of course, but I'll be holding this point firmly ❤️🫡

    • @KirTheBeetle
      @KirTheBeetle 4 роки тому +3

      So how exactly could it be more balanced?
      The only reason why this video seems unbalanced to me is because one flood spore flew into a guy's mouth and soon turned into an infection form, from there once he blew up and started making new infection forms with new hosts bodies.
      Soon after gathering enough biomass from a backwater planet they would have a proto grave-mind ready and spreading out to space using nuro physics to keep tabs on thier population growth.
      This being said this would be if they landed in a back water planet, if they landed in a military guarded city the flood would be very handicapped but since they had several clone troopers helping out the war efforts it would lead to much more bio mass helping thier cause and soon creating a proto grave-mind. Remember this is the same Flood that maid covenant elites also Combat forms.
      Now if it was a military planet that purely used attack droids then yeah one guy gets infected the infection slowly grows more and more untill it's found and attacked with droids win for The Cis right?
      Well the logic plauge would help on this regard, in a fast explanation
      Droid: my Target is the infection That was located near this city
      Flood: But what if humanity is an infection that hurts themselfs?
      What if the city is already infected with useless races that don't help it but ruin it?
      Should life even be worth anything if you can't protect the already growing infection?
      Droid: I.... My target is the government.
      Though here's the thing about this, the more advantages where giving the CIS the more where admiting is that they need a handicap to keep up with the growing flood infestation, Wile the flood just used one spore.
      What if we have the flood a grave mind to start with and the CIS the location of that grave-mind and it's weakness to fire? Would they win? Nurophysics says no since some how nurophysics means you can transport anything with just thought or do the literal impossible.
      What if we gave the flood spore a wind blast and it lands somewhere that's full and ravaging with CIS droids on defense and multiple troopers ready for battle, they would win? Well yeah they literally found it all alone and killed it.
      Now I just want to know what would a fair senario be for you? I'd like to know because it would probably open my thoughts on this a bit more. So please tell me what would be a more fair senario for this to take place.

    I disagree especially if using legends just because I think u underestimate the CIS ability to terminate life of a grand scale. If the population became infected they would have no problem with genocide the only ppl they would have to keep alive would be the high command which would be located on Mustafar (a planet the flood simply could not thrive and survive on. That leads us to satistics. Manpower and production capacity. The cis forces are massive. Like that largest military in fiction. By the end of the clone wars it was said to have over 1 quintillion troops. Don't get me wrong the flood will be able to infect almost intelligent living organisms in the whole galaxy. Which is above 100 quadrillion. That gives them a large standing force. Be even then they are still outnumbered 10 -1 there's just not enough bodies for them. Meanwhile the cis has 1000s of droid factorys that do not need organic operators to produce billions more would be made. If the tactics I've stated above are used then I have no doubt that the flood will be ground down. I consider sentinals weak compared to the fire power of the cis as a whole. The forrunners feared for their own lives, causing them to be unable to make the proper choices to achieve victory against the flood(ergo this is a completely different senario then what the fore runners faced. Literally matching a flood against a bigger flood that can't be infected.

    Skynet (Terminator) vs The Flood
    The year is 2032 and the war against humanity has been fought for a while now. Dispite several human victories, Skynet is still strong and capable of quickly expanding. Suddenly, a small meteor hits Earth; it carried a parasite that turns humans and other life forms into "zombies".

      Imagine if the first place they landed was the Jedi Temple on Coruscant.
      They'd have the entire historical gathered knowledge of both the Jedi Order and the Republic along with over a trillion hosts.
      They'd also have access to the Sith vaults buried deep deep deep under the Jedi Temple and the street smarts of the population of the lower levels.
      They'd essentially have the entire gathered knowledge throughout all of galactic history as well as control of all the technology in the galaxy.
      Between the force users in the temple and the population of the planet it would immediately be game over for the entire galaxy.
      It would essentially be impossible to even enter that star system and they'd quickly blockade the planet.
      There's genuinely no way that the CIS could put up a fight and there are few factions in all of sci-fi who could even make it halfway through one battle.
      It would be like Mike Tyson in his prime against an 80 year old lady.

    I kind of disagree on this analysis, at least in the finer details of things. I still believe the Flood has a high chance of winning, but not to the degree stated in the video. In this scenario, their manufacturing would be unrestricted, and they would be allowed to make more advanced units, as Palpatine heavily nerfed the CIS so that they wouldn't win. We could easily have all organic life outnumbered by hundreds to one. By this point, they could have produced more efficient and advanced droids that could have still operated with similar programming that kept the droid army loyal 99.9% of the time.
    I feel like even though the Flood is probably one of the most overpowered forces in fiction, it doesn't mean they'll win every time. I feel like he glossed over too many topics and assumed too much to give the CIS a fighting chance. They had anti-organic super weapons that they could have been perfected, again without disruption from the Republic and especially Palpatine, and they could have easily given all their units disruptor blasters, which destroy matter on a cellular level. Not to mention, just because droid AI is less superior in SW, it doesn't mean it's less efficient in this scenario, as the only reason the logic plague was so effective was because the Forerunner AI was smarter and had more control over more things. In the case of the droid army, after the battle of Naboo, they made all their units individual, which means it would be much, much more legwork for the Flood to even have a battalion of droids on their side. Even then, that has a high likelihood of failing, whether it be the simple minds of the units not being affected at all, or by being destroyed by other units because it would be deemed defective. It just wouldn't be effective fundamentally. The droids were so basic that they would choose their primary directive over any order that could be considered even the slightest treasonous to the CIS. The only way they could defeated is by the mass shutdown order.
    Any other tactic against the droid army would end horribly for the Flood, since the droids could be endlessly reproduced, recycled, and specialized to combat nearly any foe. However, obviously, the Flood would be intelligent enough to know this. Even with a shutdown order, some tactical droids could ignore it, so they'd have to disguise their logic plague as an update to their programming.
    Again, not saying the Flood couldn't win, but simply that it isn't as simple as it is in the video. If anyone has anything to add to either side, I'd love to talk about it.

    3-The cybermen vs the Borg.
    4-The Federation fleet from Star Trek DS9: Sacrifice of the Angels vs the Imperial fleet at the battle of Endor or the CIS fleet at Coruscant.

    You can both do Galactic versus and Ship versus.

    White corner: Systems Alliance (Mass Effect), United Federation of Planets (Star Trek), post-GCW2 Galactic Alliance (Star Wars), 12 Colonies
    VS
    Black Corner: Sith Empire (SWTOR), Klingon Empire, CIS, Cylons
    8-The Doctor, the temporal agent Daniels and Magnus need to stop a Dalek invasion force from invading the 40k Galaxy.
    They are on board of an Hades-class cruiser that can be modified by both the Doctor and by Daniels.
    9-(Suggested by Thad) the Geth vs the Cylons.
