I purchased this laptop last month for online schooling and it has been phenomenal!!! I have recently been interested in also using it for a bit of gaming and connecting it to a wired Xbox controller but was reluctant for fears of damaging the laptop or having a lack-luster gaming experience but your detailed and informative video has dispelled all of those concerns! Thank you so much for this wonderful video! Thumbs up!!!
I bought this laptop and it can't even run online mmo games on the lowest graphics it had an intel pentium silver processor though, completely unplayable for a competitive standpoint NOT worth 600usd
im looking for one. if you had to do it ove again, would you have bought the bright view screen instead? i dont game, and dont really need the anti glare screen. good video, thanks.
Hello! I do recommend choosing a laptop with brighter screen over the laptop with more power. Bright and vibrant screen will provide you much better experience than slightly better hardware.
USB 3 in HP laptops called on/off device. This port randomly connect/disconnect device. Only if you in BIOS change it to USB 2 mode, then everything will be ok.
I have this laptop its great how ever i dont like the how the battery dies quickly on mine i usually have to chrage it 3 or 2 times a day it only lats around 2 hours and also the backlight keyboard turns off after a bit and to turn it back on you have to move the trackpad or type i wish it just stayed on i get why they made it so it does that tho
@@yeller3956 no problem, if you have to game on the cheap, desktop PC is the way to go. This PC will play games similar to what he has listed. To Play the most demanding games on a laptop means buying one that has a dedicated graphics card, which are a little more expensive
Saying a lower resolution display is an advantage because of higher frame rates is very misleading. You can have a 4K display and still run it at lower resolutions. This just removes the option of higher resolutions. I have this laptop, and that display is -- by far -- the worst display I've ever seen on a laptop. Ever. And the viewing angles are horrid.
I bought this thinking I could run it via the HDMI out to my 58" ROKU tv. Unfortunately the HP freezes within seconds, and then I have to hold it's power button to turn it off/restart. Not sure if it's the 1.4 hdmi connection or what (and no, don't know what the tv is using). Any ideas? Or is it just my good idea gone bad?
@@nicknormal No. Ended up swapping the nvidea gfx card with an amd (may have had a bad HDMI out port on the nvid card) and I swapped the ram to 2x16. Now it works fine, plus for DaVinci edits I started converting my vid files to Proxy and that made things even better still. Computers, what are ya gonna do, right?
Why would you upgrade a video card in a laptop ? I don't get it , for the price of this plus a new card you'd be on the way to building a Fast Desktop , let's face it you don't Game properly OTG
These barrettes lose max charge over time, so even if you bought it new, it might’ve have been laying in a warehouse for a couple years. When was this model released? I have a 4 year old Asus that gets over 2 hours, so something def isn’t right. Replace the battery if this is really happening.
Yeah; I'm trying to find the same thing. One site has this thing coming with 8G and only 16G max. Crucial has my model at being 12G, which is accurate, and telling me it will take 2x16G for 32G. I think I'll take a chance on Crucial.
Did you figure it out? I’m planning on buying one of these laptops for school but in my free time I would like to use it for sims as well. I have the same question that you wrote:
@@daleniahmonique3482 i ended up getting the MSI gf63 it’s a gaming laptop got it on walmart runs sims beautifully. Even with all 54gb of mods and cc😂😂
I happen to have an extra 2TB m.2 lying around. Do you know if this laptop would allow me to install it as an additional drive rather than replacing the existing one? I see that the factory drive is an m.2, so it would have to have 2 m.2 slots in total to do what I want to do.
You can: - remove the ODD & replace it with an ODD-HDD SATA adapter & get a commercial 2.5" SATA3 SSD of any size. Or a SATA3 to M.2 adapter as well (& put THAT into the ODD-HDD caddy) - remove the inner 2.5" SATA3 classic HDD & replace it with either an 2.5" SSD SATA3 drive or use a 2.5" SATA3 to M.2 adapter
