I love the look of this guitar, except for the black and sea foam green colours. Besides that, this guitar is a beauty! Another guitar I probably can’t afford!!
Yeah, that was my first thought. Not to mention, they have those “stratacoustic” guitars already. They were shit. I feel like the look of these just make them look cheap as hell.
Hey G. Alonso, we will be posting demo videos on the Acoustasonic soon! You will be able to see them once posted in our Acoustasonic playlist: bit.ly/2S04kT3
Fender what are your thoughts on the Godin Acousticaster? Or the A6? Or the Kramer Ferrington? How is this a new development? Lol just because you invented the electric guitar... doesn’t mean you own every idea that came after it. You’re on your way to becoming the next Gibson if you don’t keep up with the affordable times. You guys are high on wood glue in Corona if you think that many people will buy this at $2k+
the two tests ive seen sounded completely different to me, so i will have to go try one out myself. i think it looks awesome, and could be a great guitar.
as a looker = stunning! as a player = can't wait to get a chance to enjoy one in my hands! innovation doesn't sleep! thanks for being bold and continuing to push Fender forward!
@Josh R I don't agree, but you have the right to think otherwise. Research & Development is a wild animal, and it takes a ton of time, thought, technology, testing and then doing it all again 100 times before such an instrument is released. Just looking at the depth of the sides of that sound hole makes me see it is totally different than any acoustic or electric I've ever seen. I define that as innovative. Then add custom Fishman electronics to optimize sound = looks like a great new axe! Bottom line, let's go play it and then determine whether worthy of plunking down the cash or not.
@Josh R 'way better' will be determined in the hands and ears of the player ... which is why we are fortunate to have so many good options. I just look forward to playing it and hope it is received well on it's own merits... not on history or perception.
No doubt a long awaited home run for Fender. Every guy that loves Strats or Teles needs to try one of these. I don't know how they get so much sound out of such a thin lightweight beautifully constructed guitar. The fishman emulations are nice but I mostly play mine unplugged and enjoy the full rich sound with the super thin light weight beautiful oiled wood body with an ebony neck that is almost as easy to play as a Strat. Sound wise it can hold it's own with the big acoustics, hard to believe but true. I'm glad they made them a quality USA made product. They are beautiful and deserve the beautiful craftsmanship and materials. Sell a couple Strats off your wall and get one. A keeper for sure.
i use mine 300 times a year, with my RC202 Looper, QVC sub woofer, the body of the acoustasonic and the onboard body pickup makes for an amazing drum sound from palming the bridge for bass drum and slapping the body for snare.... I use several guitar pedals, a pitch shifter to simulate bass, and an overdrive and a digitech delay. and a crybaby wah.. i can make amazing soundscapes but the Acoustasonic is integral to the show. I absolutely love my Acoustasonic Tele. Life is good. Thank you.
I've heard some demos. This thing is incredible. Congratulations Fender, I definitely want one. I've been waiting for an acoustic I can wrap my thumb over; plus I've heard it! It sounds amazing!!
As a woodworker and a musician this thing is beautiful! I always wanted to grab a stratacoustic before they stopped making them and this is a better second chance for and acoustic/electric by far! A strat version would be beautiful.
I bought one two months ago. Great with an amplifier, but I play it every day unplugged and am filled with joy. Very pricey, but so happy with it. Clean sounds great to play.
Thanks for making a video last longer than 2 min. The channel is full of videos that are as informative as a water bottle ingredients label. With such a rich history, going forward, your videos should be as informative and great as this one.
I bought one today as soon as I strummed it I could tell it was special. The tone acoustically was impressive , thank you guys for designing this amazing instrument, And making this creative building video.
I have a Fender Sonoran which I love, but now this! I need one of these! When I am gigging around I am dragging around my tele, but this will be an all in one solution! It's a win-win.
Watch the Andertons video on this guitar. The Reverb video was great also. I said I wasnt buying a new guitar this year.....Well, that probably just changed.
Probably my comment will get lost in this section but I think it's worth a shot. So here it goes: This video really inspired me from an engineering standpoint. I just love how much passion you put into the making and the product design. All the R&D, the testing but foremost, the passion. I can relate to this people doing what they love and I'd love to be part of what you guys do as well. I have a small workshop in my hometown where I do service to people's guitars. I do maintenance and setups, calibrations, intonation, work on the electronics and what not. But that is only a part-time job of mine. What I really do is I'm a sales engineer and the Ensenada B.C. Fendre plant is one of my clients. I sell SolidWorks and CamWorks as my full time job. However, I've always been involved in the manufacturing industry rather than the product design industry. I'm a bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering with a minor in Mechanical Engineering and I'm a diehard guitar nerd. It is my dream to be able to work in the product development of a great guitar company such as Fender is! I know this is not the most appropiate place to post something like this but I felt the need to do it anyway after watching this video. So the next question goes like this: is there a chance I can land a job with you so I can make a difference in the guitar industry evolution in the years to come? I think that social media has a great impact in the way we live now and I think I can at least get a reply from someone in Fender. If you want to help me out, give me a thumbs up to get noticed. I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you all and have a great day, and of course, a great NAMM this weekend!
P.S. And if you people at Fender want to go to SolidWorksWorld, which will be held in Dallas next Feb 11th. I'd love to speak to you! I'll be there as well as many Solidworks employees and clients as well.
Stylish and sophisticated. Love the recessed back plates and attention to detail. Get the price down a bit and this could be a massive long term seller.
I'm excited to try one. It's so great to see Fender actually innovating. The only thing I dislike is the coloring of the fingerboard with all those striations.
I did not care for the Acoustasonic when they came out but after playing my Thinline it had me about the thinking about the Acoustasonic so today I did a video search and have watched several videos and now I really want one and maybe next year I can afford to pick up a used one. Wish I could get one now!
This is the first time in at least 3 years that I've been excited about a new guitar style being established, the other one was the double cut telecaster😉
I can tell you the fact that an action set -up is highly necessary before playing. The saddle height is always high once the guitars go out from the factory.
People usually have mixed feeling when guitar companies try "new" things on a new level, but I can totally see this happening. It´s incredible and nothing we have seen before. Too bad about the price tag... but it´s a top quality instrument. You never cease to amaze me Fender, Congrats! -From a loyal fan/customer, of the "new generation" :p I´m getting a Fender Accoustic (not the Acoustasonic) myself, in February for my birthday.
Beautifully crafted video with lots of "human touch". Love it. And I just ordered mine in Natural. Can't wait to get my hands on it for my mainly acoustic sets with a bit of grit thrown in here and there!
We have two at school where I teach and they’ve Pulled up at the bridge and the the carbonate back or whatever it was made of, bows and buckles. The pickup sounds horrible. The neck was ok. As long as it wasn’t attached to the guitar.
There's been many version of this guitar including a number of very cheap models but my favorite one and the most similar to this new one was the Fender Japan TLAC 950. Which is a really great guitar as I'm sure the new one is too.
I fell in love with this guitar idea. I'm mostly an electric guitarist but occasionally I do solo acoustic shows and this seems like a practical idea for me, but.... honestly, as a working musician, I just can't afford it at this price point. How about a model made in Mexico, without the digital processor and minus the electric pickup and tones? Just a very good quality Fishman pickup with the basic EQ (bass, mid, treble) and a tuner. And the volume knob near the bridge for easy access. Strip it down to the absolute basics and keep it at a, say $599.99 price point. It would be a great guitar to take to small gigs and easy to transport on a plane as well. What do you think, Fender? You can do it.
Hello Fender team, one question; a guitar like this I would hope to play for many years.. any thoughts to the battery performance decline over time? Or did you design it so that the battery could be replaced at some point?
These are amazing guitars. I’ve made my living playing and singing for 30 years. I’d say these are the most comfortable, easy to play, lightweight, and most versatile guitars I’ve ever played. Also, they sound much better plugged than all of the many expensive Taylors and Martins I’ve used through the years. Good grief... I’ve tried so many. I’ve Had a black Acoustasonic Tele since early 2019 (played a lot of gigs with this one before COVID-19 ended live entertainment) and have a Ziricote Acoustasonic Strat too. Thanks, Fender!
Yea I rarely see anyone play it that includes those guitar UA-cam channels who played it once for the sponsorship and then never played again. Reminds me of when orange wood guitars gave every UA-camr a guitar and those same players never touched it again.
