I put 10-50 phosphor bronze Stringjoy (jury still out…they seem a little too dead for the short time they’ve been on) so it still gets great acoustic tones but plays and bends the high E and B strings like an electric. Question: what amp would you use with this guitar? Do use an acoustic amp or an electric guitar amp? Or do you have to switch between amps from when you’re in acoustic mode to electric mode?
I'm sure it varies largely between people with individual taste, but for what it's worth it looks like he's using an electric amp in the song at the end of the video
Love the song at the end, it's tough cuz this guitar is badass but it's such a hybrid, don't know if I'd want it over a nice Taylor, but it is very cool looking, I imagine playing an electric strat it would be an easy transition
I remember trying this out for an hour at NAMM a year ago. It immediately felt like....it was just a novelty guitar. Didn't sound good and the wood felt like synthetic plastic. The idea was cool but...why not just use your acoustic or electric. it's like those cars that are also boats. It's cool and different but...you wouldn't want to take a date out in it.
This ⬆️ Yes. If one needs "semiacoustish" + electric there are really good (and cheaper) electrics with extra piezo pickups and that works very well. And then one has a _really good electric tone_ . Or have new pickup system in a real, beautifully resonating and dynamic acoustic. This Acoustasonic is just a drop of the ball, a compromise in all tones, none of them really pleasing. Sounds like a plastic guitar. At best it just gets the job done with a band, but playing it alone with those dead and soulless tones, no no no.
I find it difficult to play lead in my acoustic guitar and if I do, i will take on a more conservative approach. Played one of these and there is more adventure to my approach immediately.
Yeah I personally really don’t like the wideness of acoustics so I’m looking into this as a acoustic alternative. I’ve tested acoustic electrics in person I didn’t love the sound. So I would love to test this out in person. This is currently out of my price range right now tho.
Im coming up to a year with my tele acoustasonic also sean and i have to say pretty much everything you do about the strat applies to mine,i love it,more recently im using fenders new acoustic junior go amp with it and wow its sounds awesome.

@@pastordavidberman2091 I've played the Acoustasonic before and I thought it played well. Never seen or heard of a Taylor T5 but based on UA-cam videos I've seen it's definitely worth looking into

What do you find is the best amp or PA to play through live? I have a P22 and go through an amp for electric tones and a Bose PA for acoustic tones.
Cant afford one but ill stick around and listen !
Hi man' when you bought it, do you still have to fine tune it? or they set it up well?
It came to me set up really well, aside from switching out the strings to Elixirs I haven’t had to mess with it.
@@seandaniel23 thanks man
Hello sean, do you think the acoustasonic is also suitable for funky nile rodgers grooves?
Sean Daniel
You could've used the Acoustasonic Strat at the New Year's Eve gig if you had your Taylor converted into a Cello.
Love the song at the end, it's tough cuz this guitar is badass but it's such a hybrid, don't know if I'd want it over a nice Taylor, but it is very cool looking, I imagine playing an electric strat it would be an easy transition
Does it feed back? Seems like it would with that sound hole.
Can the action be adjusted? It’s so high !
I dig the battery worry; with all the trivia he thinks to point out -- on & on & on -- I keep checking my cell battery level
This is currently out of my price range right now tho.
beautiful song!
Sean... I'd like to hear your opinion on the Yamaha Trans-accoustic guitars before I go out and buy one.
Maybe you should try the PRS Silver Sky, see if your opinion changes.
NEVER!
@@seandaniel23 lol would you still do that if it was John Mayer himself asking you to try out his guitar
@@UnrealGamer099 absolutely
Silver sky sounds like a horn lol
I think some people dont have a good ear blinded by brand loyalty
Im coming up to a year with my tele acoustasonic also sean and i have to say pretty much everything you do about the strat applies to mine,i love it,more recently im using fenders new acoustic junior go amp with it and wow its sounds awesome.
I want to know since its digital out does it feel digital? Don't know how to explain it... A normal electric say stratocaster, you pickup and play but its got that analog feel. Instant satisfaction..
What are your thoughts on the Acoustasonic Strat versus the Taylor T5z
Never had a chance to play the Taylor. I'll try and get ahold of one!
i'm so unsure about these. i'd get one but the price is pretty high for me
I've been thinking about one of these for church. Having capabilities of electric and acoustic sounds great to me
It definitely has a place there!
I don’t like it. Plays like crap. I would go with a Taylor T5 if I were you
@@pastordavidberman2091 only one way to find out
@@justinaskins2156 check them both out. Fir your application the T5 will be better in my opinion
@@pastordavidberman2091 I've played the Acoustasonic before and I thought it played well. Never seen or heard of a Taylor T5 but based on UA-cam videos I've seen it's definitely worth looking into
I'd be curious what you'd think after a month of electric 10's on there. See if it messes with a good acoustic sound. Or if it draws you to play it more like an electric.
Sean! Amps confuse me and I’m too embarrassed to ask anyone else. Maybe you can show me on your new Supro and other amps. What exactly is gain? Pre-gain and post gain? What’s the deal with volume and master? Channels? I don’t know what pre-amp means! I don’t know where to begin to get a spanky or creamy sound. Teach me to sparkle! I can feedback real good though.
Beautiful song at the end. You and Andrea are amazing together. Love both your channels. Do you think the tele version would similar in feel and voicings?
thanks! go stream some of our other ones :)

Great video. Cool song. Thank you.
Beautiful song at the end. Great guitar playing and oh what a smooth voice. Why isn’t Andrea a worldwide name instead of all the other dodos. Can someone help me out and tell me what key the song is in.
Tone sounds great!
