Thank You, Fender, for loaning out a Fender Acoustasonic Stratocaster to Paul Davids. I firmly believe that he gave an Honest Review, as we, the audience, watched him unbox it and proceed to check out all of the different voices that the guitar has. I believe that it was his looping section that really shows the versitility of the guitar, and, as a Bonus, sounds Great ! He gave the guitar a Great Review, and he said that it makes him smile, and that is important ! Great Job Fender, making the guitar, and then choosing (WISELY) to loan one to Paul Davids. He did you guys Proud ! He Clearly Demonstrated why Fender is, and will always be, The Best !
Cedric Baccay 🤣🤣 in my personal opinion, I feel this is a mistake. The tele version filled this spot perfectly, adding a strat, just clutters it up. But hey, time will tell.
A lot of undeserved snark here. I got mine yesterday and love this like no flat top acoustic I have owned. Playing through a Fishman Loudbox and it sounds great. Later today I'll get an A/B switch so I can run position one through a Blues Junior. I love the idea of these and the sounds that are coming out.
Wow ! It is so wierd that you bring up the Model Mustang ! Had a friend with a Red Body/White Pickguard, Knobs, Switch, and I believe a Rosewood neck, Mustang between 1979 and 1981in High School. I fixed it for him a few times back in High School. Tried for years to get that from him. It was Sentimental to him, so, to my best guess, he still has it. I would have loved to have it. Not pristine by any stretch of the measure, as each time I worked on it, it had more dents and dings, but it was unique to me, so, I just wanted it. Well, he always knows to look me up if he ever wants to let it go, as he knows that I will take care of it as long as I live.
First off, Sean nails this demo. Fender is lucky to have him onboard. I saw the tele at the Nashville NAMM last year. Like all NAMM's it was too loud to actually hear what it sounded like.. I picked it up and strummed it.. put it down and thought.. I don't get it..... Then 5 months later I'm in a guitar center in Nashville (yes I know.. don't judge me..) Saw one hanging up next to the electrics. Asked the salesman if I could go play it in the acoustic room, he says "sure we just got that one in.. nobody's really played it". So I take it into the acoustic room and tuned it up and started playing it acoustically first. Wow.. lightweight, great neck and was fun to play unplugged. Then I plug into one of the acoustic amps they have on the floor. I was floored. The acoustic sounds were fantastic through that little amp. It does not sound like an acoustic with a piezo.. it sounds like you put a great mic on a real acoustic. So I'm noodling around and the salesman walks in and is looking at me while I'm playing. He says.. "wow that sounds amazing - let's plug it into the Bose!" So we plug it into the Bose PA and crank it up. Our jaws dropped to the ground. It sounded like a great acoustic guitar... really loud.. no feedback. We just kept turning it up louder... other sales guys and customers were walking in with smiles on their faces wondering where this sound was coming from. Look, it's not an acoustic or an electric. It's something different... but damn.. EVERY sound was fantastic. We just kept turning the PA up louder while playing the acoustic sounds... NO feedback! It sounded amazing. That setting where you can mix in the body sounds with the acoustic sounds is fantastic if you have a style where you slap the strings a bit or tap the top -- so much fun! Another one of the things that EVERYBODY misses when they demo these guitars, if you switch to the electric sounds you can stay on PA! (which Sean actually demos here! ) You don't have to play the electric sounds through an electric amp! The FAT electric switch position sounds like a deluxe just breaking up a bit -- through a PA! We were just looking at each other in that acoustic room while I was playing semi distorted telecaster sounds through a PA! It was wild.. lol I walked away from that and thought... crap now I gotta find a way to drop $2k on this guitar. And of course since then I've watched every video on these guitars and went back and played them a bunch of time's at different stores.. People just don't get this... it's not a replacement for an acoustic or an electric guitar -- it's something new.. and fun and frankly kind of magical. I mean... I've been playing for over 40 years.. acoustics, electrics... and this was just so fun and different and musical. And yes, I've got acoustic's with piezos and mic's in them, and a line 6 variax and a taylor T5 and I've played all the different hollow body acoustic type guitars. This thing is different and Fishman nailed it. And yes... it's $2k -- yikes... And crap... I was saving for the tele and now they bring out this strat shape... now I have to decide what one to get and if there is really any difference between the two. So.. before you pass judgement on this thing because it looks goofy or whatever... do yourself a favor.. go play one in a quiet room through a PA or acoustic amp.
I've been a drummer my entire life. From 5th grade through college and beyond, I've had sticks in my hand and rhythm in my heart. But while I'm flying home to CT from Wyoming in my plane (It's a Piper Aztec E if you're wondering) I wanted to play something for my kids, and since you cant haul a kit into a tiny plane, I'm learining gutair. I got my acoustasonic from my cousin, and now I'm looking for some general tips.
Was wondering where Sean landed. He really is great at this, an amazing player, who also knows how to thoroughly explain product. Not too many with these skills
I’m not surprised as his presentations of the Line 6 variax models had me buy all 3.!! Lol I”ll probably buy one of these...As I have 2 regular sized acoustics that i don’t play much because they are so big. I plug everything in anyway so being a hybrid appeals to me. Now I have to get better at playing to justify 2K for it...lol I’d rather buy more pedals and another amp!
I love this guitar. Two questions, though: The electric pickup sounds good through the PA, but how do the acoustic pickups sound through the Deluxe? And how does it sound unplugged? He said it sounds good, but we didn't get a demo.
The sound was better than the official Acoustasonic telecaster demos Fender put out. They had a lot of buzz and flab. This has a little but I could live with it.
Awesome! Now give me one Django’s Selmer Maccaferi, Willie’s Trigger, and David Rawlings’s Epiphone Olympic archtop so I can bring this to all gigs along with a regular Telecaster instead of a bunch of guitars. I’ll be waiting.
As a Gibson fanboy, I think that this is smart design. It plays to a strat’s strengths and smartly augments them while still being strat-like at the end of the day. I’m impressed.
You omitted the fact that you tuned it down a full whole step or at least lowered the E string to a D. That gave the licks you were playing a nice full deep tone. Nice sounding guitar.
It’s far better than the Stratacoustic of old. The old one sounded, I don’t know, “plastic”? Tinny and plastic, yeah. Worse unplugged, but still bad when plugged in. It was only like $300 though.
1. Acoustic or electric strings? 2. If you were to switch between the acoustic and electric sound, do you use an A/B switch pedal and di the output A to PA, and B to an amp?
The deep sound is helped by the low E string tuned down to a D. My question would be put it through a Marshall and see if it feeds back at all. Also to note, those are acoustic strings. I just wonder what gauge?
I hope someone can answer my question How do i get one in puerto rico!? There is no guitar dealer with an acoustasonic strat or tele (that i know of) in puerto rico😢
I love the concept of this guitar and everything about it with one exception. It looks cartoonish, the paint jobs not working yo. Hope there are other versions...
Great presentation . Seems slightly better tone wise compared to the Acoustasonic Tele. Not sure why you need a "dirty" sound uness you are totally devoid of any overdrive pedal . My Taylor T5 still has couple of aces up its sleeve !
This and the Tele version are both cool. How about making one with a maple fretboard? I’m fine with the price. I think it’s worth every penny, but I’ve got to have a maple fretboard on my Fenders.
How can I plug into both guitar amp and foh with just one single output? a y-cable won't do it in this case, two different outputs would have to be active depending on the selected model.
They should make complete solution in third generation: Acoustasonic-Classical-Electrical Stratocaster with a tremolo bar system: 5 types of Acoustic , 5 types of Classical & 5 types of Electric guitar all in one body guitar. & imagine all this with the bonus of a true tremolo bar ??! That intro music: thank you for holding. Your conference call will begin when the host joins. Please continue to hold.
Mark Jacobs hilarious! I’m on those conference calls all the time!
Hahaha!
lol 🤣

Well said. Paul really got me interested in this guitar and I didn't expect to even watch a review otherwise.
When's the acoustasonic jazzmaster coming out? 🙂
Edit (March 16 2021): They actually made one ahhah😂
Cedric Baccay i want a squire version lol
Cedric Baccay 🤣🤣 in my personal opinion, I feel this is a mistake. The tele version filled this spot perfectly, adding a strat, just clutters it up. But hey, time will tell.
it looks as tho they are going in order as the electrics came out
No...
honestly, that'd be sick
Fender precision bass acoustasonic.
We wouldn't get enough volume from the body
It's like getting two guitars for the price of three!
I got a new Gibson SG Standard and a new Gibson G45 Standard acoustic combined for pretty much the same cost
Eee
Wow you must have some shitty guitars
I could listen to him play the last thing he plays for an hour straight, beautiful.
I thought so to until he changed the sound. Kinda still had ne at "Hello".
Y’all know we gonna get that acoustasonic mustang 🤣
Wow !

I would gladly pay the price if it came with the ability to play like him.
Why didn't you just put the pickup on the neck to really differentiate it from the Tele one so you can have a more Strat-like sound of a Strat guitar?
I totally agree with you man
Yeah when I first heard about it I assumed that’s what it would be
They should've tried using a humbucker for the strat to differentiate tge two even more
Jaejae fuentez that wouldn’t fit the vibe.
Picked mine up today. Just amazing. Can't wait to play it live.
It reminds me of a plastic guitar I saw a KMart years and years ago.
First off, Sean nails this demo. Fender is lucky to have him onboard.

That finger-nails-on-a-chalk-board feeling 1:16

I remember him doing the eleven rack years ago ,taught me lots about that unit.
Sean Halley!!! Love this guy!! Aside from the awesome radio voice, he has such a great, sensitive, rich, versatile playing... Thumbs up!
I want sean halley to demo all the fender guitars 😍
I have one, and it is an awesome instrument. The craftsmanship in building the instrument is impressive. Give it a try.
This has quite unique sounds
I love it, it sounds beautiful. Well done Fender 👏🏼
Please do make a fender squier acoustasonic Stratocaster, it will be the most loved strat ever
I can hear Chinese CNC machines humming now
I'd probably get one if there was a more affordable Squier version
lol
There is a $800 MIM version supposed to come out
I love this guitar. Two questions, though: The electric pickup sounds good through the PA, but how do the acoustic pickups sound through the Deluxe? And how does it sound unplugged? He said it sounds good, but we didn't get a demo.
I am speechless ! I might just start playing again !!
ill wait for the squire acoustasonic
Incredible ... amazing guitar ! Sounds and looks awesome ! Thought I didnt need any more guitars .... now this shows up !
The sound was better than the official Acoustasonic telecaster demos Fender put out. They had a lot of buzz and flab. This has a little but I could live with it.
Fantastic sound .. And you can play man.. Great job..
JUST CANT GET THIS RIFF OUT OF MY HEAD!!!! Stunning, where can I get the TAB , please? I'll buy one, honest.
oh, that was me, liking my own post. I want it that much
@@jonmcnamara7258 lame
That guitar's on my bucket list.
I dont have any Fender planning to have one,i think i found what i need and fits for the Acoustic gig.
Awesome! Now give me one Django’s Selmer Maccaferi, Willie’s Trigger, and David Rawlings’s Epiphone Olympic archtop so I can bring this to all gigs along with a regular Telecaster instead of a bunch of guitars. I’ll be waiting.
Excellent demonstration - succinct, told me all I needed to know. Many thanks.
i just got one what a unique soul it will find its way into my inspiration
does it sound full? here it doesnt really
How about an acoustic guitar but instead of a soundhole.... Humbuckers
gonna play some metal and noise rock,
yeaah
@@backbeats8441 oh yes I would!!!
That sounds like the Godin A6 Ultra
That’s some beautiful playing.
lowkey loving this
great job Sean, thank you

beautiful instrument ... sounds really great .... and great playing btw ... !!!
GOSG DANG THAT SANGGGGSSSSSSS
Honestly this is such enjoyable music i could jam to this
This looks like the ultimate blues guitar.
Very late to the party here, but that was a beautiful opening piece, Sean. Looking good too!
It's so smooth!!!
I love your playing! This guitar sounds so much better than the Tele version to me.
Great sounding guitar.
Great playing and sound...
Epic beautiful acoustic guitar solo. Kudos. Bravo! It reminds me of Little Martha a bit. I wish I had that backing track.
I love mine
You omitted the fact that you tuned it down a full whole step or at least lowered the E string to a D. That gave the licks you were playing a nice full deep tone. Nice sounding guitar.
BEAUTIFUL!
FREAKING LOVE THIS!
I WANT ONE NOW!
Like the Tele, it sounds a little banjo-like to me.
This guitar is awesome... I want one...
🤘🎸😎
Amazing visual and sounds!
i want it so badlyyyyy
Amazing instrument. Would love to see a bass version.
i wonder if it’s better then the first stratacoustic they did
It’s far better than the Stratacoustic of old. The old one sounded, I don’t know, “plastic”? Tinny and plastic, yeah. Worse unplugged, but still bad when plugged in. It was only like $300 though.
not wrong
0:00 i like this tune can some body tell me what its called ?
Love it
This is a game changer!
Could you guys do electric versions of these guitars pls?
Joe M - electric version? He did go to the Deluxe Reverb at the end for its electric Strat tones.
Babette LeBlanc wooooosh
Joe M - got it, lol
I think Fender actually offers a solid-body strat. At least I seem to remember seeing someone playing one once, back in the 70's.
Um, an electric Stratocaster??? Hahah I'm only kidding lol
1. Acoustic or electric strings?
2. If you were to switch between the acoustic and electric sound, do you use an A/B switch pedal and di the output A to PA, and B to an amp?
1. 11-52 acoustic strings fitted as standard
2. yes
Sean is a wizard!
Go Fender!
My goodness, He can PLAY!
👍 Good friend 🙂 💫 👍 i take for me to playlist instrumental electric guitar 🎸 🎶
The acoustic tones on both this and the Acoustasonic tele are brilliant, however on the electrical side the tele sounds better. Nice colours though!
Gorgeous
I think I love this....
🔥🔥🔥
Nice just bought one
which strings should i use for the kind of guitar?
The deep sound is helped by the low E string tuned down to a D. My question would be put it through a Marshall and see if it feeds back at all. Also to note, those are acoustic strings. I just wonder what gauge?
11-52 fitted as standard
what was that 2nd to last piece he was playing it was beautiful
It sounds like nothing more than him doing some improvised pieces, he’s a great player
I don't really associate my identity with brands.. But this is another reason I'm glad my Strat is a G&L
I hope someone can answer my question
How do i get one in puerto rico!?
There is no guitar dealer with an acoustasonic strat or tele (that i know of) in puerto rico😢
This sounds like a drop D tuning? Are they doing that to give it more bottom end? That need to state that up front.
swwet playing, thanks!
I love the concept of this guitar and everything about it with one exception. It looks cartoonish, the paint jobs not working yo. Hope there are other versions...
This thing is amazing ❤️🎸🎸

Here we go again
If they could make it nail a nylon strung guitar sound, I’d be really impressed 😂
Please bring out a squire bullet version
What if I want to learn the songs he is playing? Where can I learn them?
they forgot to mention the BIGGEST feature of all. Bring it on a canoe trip and use it as a paddle! hahaha
What is the name of that last bluesy song! Beautiful!
Sweet!
First word that came to my mind too.
Increíble instrumento, es impresionante 👏
How can I plug into both guitar amp and foh with just one single output? a y-cable won't do it in this case, two different outputs would have to be active depending on the selected model.
A/B pedal $20
What kind of strings are being used?
11-52 fitted as standard
What I would love to see is something with more electric options, like two electric pickups, but still keeps a couple great acoustic sounds.
Right, would have been icing on the cake if they had put a middle pickup in, give it that strat chime.
We neeeeed the acoustic p bass!!!
🙌🔥
They should make complete solution in third generation:
Acoustasonic-Classical-Electrical Stratocaster with a tremolo bar system:
5 types of Acoustic , 5 types of Classical & 5 types of Electric guitar all in one body guitar.
