Hi, Tech Life. Although jQuery is a dying technology, you were very correct in the assessment that this book is still very valuable to beginning web developers. In order to move an older website from jQuery, you need to understand the original intent of the legacy jQuery code and then write its appropriate JavaScript counterpart. For this endeavor, this book serves as an invaluable reference. In the spirit of transparency, I respectfully request that I am not placed in the giveaway, as I am a longtime member of the RTC community, and serve as a moderator for her discord server. However, I do thank you for the excellent content, and keep up the good work.
I've heard that book is a great resource for learning Javascript. Even though a lot of people say that jQuery is becoming irrelevant, there are companies that still use jQuery. I would love to read that book.
@@TechLifeForLife Ye, I heard the same, even now, 2020... I'm actually busy buying that one (online, used) + the HTML + CSS one, as it's suppose to be still really good (due to the concepts that are covered), which is crazy as the HTML book is from 2011. I'm getting them for a steal though so no harm done.
Ok So i do have a question, you said the SMU course meets Tues, Thurs, and Saturday. What time is this program usually offered? Is this an evening class? I want to try and see how attending this bootcamp in the future would affect my schedule.
There are two classes. One meets Mon-Wed-Sat and the other is Tue-Thur-Sat....everyone is in the same class on Saturdays. On weekdays the class meets from 630pm to 930pm. On Saturday we meet from 10am to 2pm.
Oh wow that's perfect! that would fit into my schedule without me having to quit my job. Thanks so much for the info, I'll definitively be looking into this for sure.
@@TheGabyNya Great to hear! You'll love the program. It's hard work but you'll learn a ton. If you feel pretty sure you want to attend you should learn as much as you can before you start.
Very nice of you! Books are still my fav too.

Yeah, I agree. I read a statistic somewhere that 70% of websites have jQuery on them....70% of over 1 billion sites is a lot of jQuery.

I want the JavaScript book. I bought the HTML and CSS one from half priced books.
I’ll be learning JavaScript soon!
This book is a very good resource (the html/css too). Can’t wait for a newer version.
Is there an actual newer version in the works? I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
It'd be great to have that book for free. Bring on the education!
