Man you are a hoot! I only wish I could live long enough to see you surrounded by young photography students, in the desert, white hair and beard, craggy faced, telling them about the magnificent meaning of film photography.
I'm so happy that both, you and Thomas Heaton, got invited to this project. Really enjoying how different your styles are, and also how Thomas has already been somewhat familiar with the area (well, and Europe in general) and has been raised by the rains of Lake District, while your home turf are the arid landscapes of California. Just checked out of curiosity and the record 43 inches of rain in 1983 California is half of the average 80+ inches in The Lakes. The same assignment, yet SO different films and experiences.
Hoping for more from Spain. Been there many times, driving thousands of miles. Please go to the north, Asturias, Cantabria, La Rioja. The vistas that you capture with the 6X17 will be amazing. Plus, the food! Go to Spanish restaurants, my friend. Please. Thank you.
This guy is so f*** cool 😮❤ What an inspiration. So glad I stumbled upon this channel. Very unique. Thanks Andalucia tourism board for putting these artists out there! 🎉
Hi.. just find your channel, and I love it. Amazing cameras and photos. Saw Tom heatons videos before, and now I found your channel. Great work and big plus that you are funny . Looking at your video made me happy and inspired 🎉 / Greetings from Sweden
Love your commentary... and of course your unique vision. It was your photography that inspired me to get into view camera landscape photography. Thank you Nick.
I love the 2 pictures there insane. They took a lot of work and you was burned out. But those have insane vibe. Love the blue colours in them and mist. Cool job
Oh come on, the Pacific Northwest didn't need that extra shade! It's already dark enough up here. Much love. Engaging film. Appreciate all the hard work you put into it. Thanks for sharing.
Oh, yes! The siding road with the sheep! 2:17 I really like the one at 14:00 as welled "The beach" at the end. Amazing video tour of a place I've never seen before! ✌
7:00 A. I appreciate the mild Jim Carrey impressions. B. I know it can seem not worth it to shoot film sometimes, but digital becomes so unsatisfying so quickly. Your work is unique and beautiful; don't change it.
Saw this the day that you published it but watched it on TV so no easy way to comment. I actually liked the first pano a like. I also enjoyed your "dualistic" house photo. I found it very engaging and very representative of your architectural photos. Lastly, at least your wife definitely knows that you are working when you go to take photos. I can understand her situation as watching photographers waiting hours for the sun to appear can be "boring". I am really enjoying your Andalusian adventure.
Great to follow with you on your trip to Spain. So exciting. You got several really good photos, even if you yourself didn´t thought so.The last Panoramic Shot!.......Just so beautiful!❤
Really enjoyed this video, really like the mountains, you git some lovely panos there , one of my most favourite shots though was the road side shot with the telegraph pole 😊 looking forward to the next video
Great video Nick. I've got my spanish maps and guide book spread out on the table. What a great reason to get back on a plane with my camera and walking boots. Thank you.
So happy to see you in Spain, I immediately played the video on a 'big tv' for full appreciation. Loving your process and the pictures that you took, as always. Hope more videos from Spain are coming :)
Love the pace of film photography, the way the build the photo up to a perfect picture. Personly dont have the time for it, but I certainly would love it.
Seldom mentioned - the dicking around part before the real treasure. A nice feeling. Used to kick myself till I realised no, we didn't miss anything we were bang on time! Unfolding as it should and all that. Love your vids man, thanks from UK
Great work / content. Would be great to see you travel around the world more. If you do travel around the world more… (sure, I’m biased)… but Australia has much to see that you would appreciate!
Hey Nick, new listener/viewer here. Great stuff from Spain and a definite shout out to your video man - really nice work. How do we see the info that the advertising company is putting out? Love to see that. Cheers man, you've got some great informative stuff, loved the DAP and the Zine info. I'll buy you a beer at some point here. d:-)
That last 6x17 in Torcal is really intriguing. At first glance when I was watching on TV, it didn't jump out at me, but I came back to look at it on my PC and... wow. Very unique vibe. Loved that beach 6x17 at the end too. The color palette is more similar to your usual desert work, but there's still something different; maybe uniquely "winter in Andalucía" between the lighting and colors.
Awesome as everytime. You need Meindl outdoor boots for the next time on slippery ground Nick! The American 617 picture style is very unique. Not easy to get a style like that in Europe, especially in Germany. I tried that with my digital cam, but using a telephoto around 150 mm at full format in mornig or evenening sunny light. That meets the style nearly. Better without fog and rain. Good body work! Thx.
Great bunch of shots. Southern Spain is so great. I remember those big flat cactuses everywhere. I was going to do week 3 of the course I bought from you but I skipped it because this video was up? Has there ever been a case where a teacher distracted the student to skip his class?
These latest videos have me excited about my trip to Scotland later this year. While my wife and I will mostly have our sketchbooks I've just got to take my Minolta X-700 with me, I don't shoot a lot of film but that trip sounds like a great reason to do so. Keep it up my man! And that shot at 11:04 is beautiful, I really, really like that one.
Very well done. Glad to see you just shooting what you would in So Cal. You seemed like an outsider pick in this bunch of photographers but I'm sure they were hoping you'd deliver just what you are. Some classic Nicky C images.
I know you were somewhat reluctant to take it, but the BW beach photo is my favorite. Absolutely gorgeous in my opinion. Also, could you explain why you used the center ND filter? Wondering what’s it’s for. Thanks!
Hey Nick. Good to see you back again. And good to see you in Europe. You should come to Co Kerry in Ireland to the Beara Peninsula. Drop me a line and I’ll help you out.
This is incredibly inspiring. Some images I’m thinking “wow, incredible shot” & you say “eh, it’s okay” 😂. Thank you for sharing this trip. It shows me what professional opportunities are possible through photography!
In my humble opinion, some of your best images. I must say, also Nick, that no one raises the art of moaning and complaining to an art form quite like you. Please never start posting videos in which everything goes perfectly on a shoot - they wouldn't be anywhere near as entertaining!
Now that is one crazy cool area. Agreed that it should be as popular as the rocky landscape of Utah. That first pano just by the parking lot is awesome 👍
What an amazing trip! Besides this epic journey, I’ve got a question - haha! I always struggle to meter fog… what’s your approach? Is the reading from the meter you use accurate or do you adjust manually?
Nick! I am not sure whether your creative voice over is more impressive than your photography. Maybe you might consider a career change or at least more of this style of deep dive into your experiences in the field. Great work Nick!
Like ALL shots! But i like the foggy ones most. I like this kind of weather. As my Grandfather always says to me: There is no such thing as bad weather, only bad equipment and clothes…
Man you are a hoot! I only wish I could live long enough to see you surrounded by young photography students, in the desert, white hair and beard, craggy faced, telling them about the magnificent meaning of film photography.
The best half an hour investment of my day.
You are so good man and you make me chuckle! Fab stuff, thanks x
Im deeply burned out from photography right now, this 27 mins were therapy to me. Thank you Nick!
7:10 great Chris Farley impression. "Mist...on the glass...in a van...down by the river!!"
I'm so happy that both, you and Thomas Heaton, got invited to this project.

Man the mountain shot with the leaning telephone pole 45 seconds into the video is just so awesome. Another great video man!
Never waited for anything on UA-cam this much 🌱
One of the very few channels I ‘like’ before I even watch the video. I never regret it.
Dude that last image was absolutely killer!
Loving this series, can't wait for the next episode 😁
This guy is so f*** cool 😮❤

So good ! You come back from a sh**y day and you see a new video from Nick.... Well... feels good !
26:32
This last clip before the outro, so Nick Carver!! Looking forward to that shot!
Thanks for another superb video. Especially the two HP5 shots are fantastic. Looking forward to the third in the series.
This was both stunning with the beauty of Spain and the rather hilarious commentary throughout. Well done!
Love your commentary... and of course your unique vision. It was your photography that inspired me to get into view camera landscape photography. Thank you Nick.
Phwoar, killer video, Nick!! Those foggy images were worth the pain, and that last beach shot was awesome!! Loving these!!
Lovely images, and I completely agree to the Stålenhag reference. It also reminded me of Tarkovsky’s images and movies.
Great pictures, Nick! You really discovered a unique area to photograph.
The best video I’ve watched this week. Man, you make me laugh. And that last pic! What a ripper. Cheers mate! Pure joy.
Love seeing you out in some new locations Nick. Some great spots
Great work and fantastic story telling as always, Nick! That last photo was beautiful.
You should try shooting wetplate landscapes in the pacific northwest in the winter.... LOL... Fun stuff.
Spain looks tremendous! Nice work. Congratulations on not slipping!
Thanks for sharing.
this was our favorite part of Spain. I love to see you exploring it.
Looks like an amazing trip! Great shots and great humor :-).
Super Video, super photos! You did wonders! The least troubled, doing your assignment! It's called professionalism! Loved the results! Bravo!
Oh, yes! The siding road with the sheep! 2:17 I really like the one at 14:00 as welled "The beach" at the end. Amazing video tour of a place I've never seen before! ✌

How good was this. Worth the wait.

Great photos and very entertaining, thanks!
Thanks to You this spot ( the mountains) will be more popular among photographers for sure, thank You for bringing us on the trip!
Great to see you out shooting film left and right, you looked like you were having fun. I’m stoked for your next video the preview looked (chefs kiss)
The BK microwave will be for heating up baby bottles. You get in a lot of places in Europe. Great video.
When an artists meets reality. That is much better then the rest.
One of your best video, dude ! Great job !

Como siempre increíbles fotografías. Me alegra que España te haya inspirado tanto.
Is that Atreyu walking down there at 11:05 ? The Sphinx Gate sure has eroded over time.

Nicely done. Beautiful scenery. An artist at work. 👏
These are great shots Nick! Love that last one. Can’t wait for the next episode!

I enjoyed watching the this video. Well done.
For another great Karst landscape spot, the Burren in Co Clare is gorgeously bleak
Nick, I always really enjoy your videos and the images.
I always look forward to them and this series from Spain is wonderful.
love the images.
also happy to hear your GW670 squeaks the same way while winding film. I thought there might be something wrong with mine
This video feels like 3 minutes, amazing, enjoying to see you use more the 690
Torch de Antequera sort of looks like Chiricahua National Monument in southern Arizona.
love it... waiting for the next drop..
Hey Nick... Another great video! Quick question if you dont mind.. Whats the make/model of the reflective light meter you use a lot please?
I'm totally new in the photography world and was wondering what you keep around your neck and look through
So stoked this came out today.
This is truly an inspiring video to experience. It's absolutely soothing and relaxing to watch.
Thank you so much for sharing this story, Nick🐶!!🐾🐾😊✨
big fan of Stalenhag 👍🏼
great vid, great photos!
The sun was perhaps bothering the fellow with sunglasses as it was Nick with his hat
A good Saturday morning in misty SoCal; coffee and Carver.
Otherworldly! So very different from where I live (Northern Germany).
Beautiful pics.
Curious as to what focal length Nick uses on his landscapes?
Very well done. Glad to see you just shooting what you would in So Cal. You seemed like an outsider pick in this bunch of photographers but I'm sure they were hoping you'd deliver just what you are. Some classic Nicky C images.

As always Nick, top draw .

You’ve obviously never watched Thomas Heaton on UA-cam?..😮😅😂😂😂😂❤
@@petersmitham8273haha, you beat me to it!
@@petersmitham8273 I think it's the English accent.
It's the tragedy area, Heaton. But I like the guy!@@petersmitham8273
I really enjoyed the photos & video! I love film but I must confess that sometimes the call of my Pentax 645Z is hard to over come.
Now that is one crazy cool area. Agreed that it should be as popular as the rocky landscape of Utah. That first pano just by the parking lot is awesome 👍
True Dedication to LF!
👍👍
I’d go taking photos with you anytime. You are so funny. 😊 😅😊
Amazing trip! Will you be doing an EP for your time away?
Amazing work
Hi Nick, do you believe film looks any better than digital in the final result.
11:00 😶🌫️🤌🏻 priceless shot.
What an amazing trip!
Besides this epic journey, I’ve got a question - haha! I always struggle to meter fog… what’s your approach? Is the reading from the meter you use accurate or do you adjust manually?
Interesting video, pleasant to watch as most of your videos. I have a question, do you use some kind of app in iphone before taking photography? :)
Nick Carver, the only UA-camr I turn x2 playback speed off and back to normal for.
Nice. How You deal with developing the film? Did you risk flying with negatives?
Nick! I am not sure whether your creative voice over is more impressive than your photography. Maybe you might consider a career change or at least more of this style of deep dive into your experiences in the field. Great work Nick!
Perfect!
Right on! Totally bad ass!
First! Terrific shots.
Like ALL shots! But i like the foggy ones most. I like this kind of weather. As my Grandfather always says to me: There is no such thing as bad weather, only bad equipment and clothes…
