I’ve never seen someone that cares so much for his costumers like geo does! Normally I compare prices when I buy something, But I’ve never done that with shavenation because the fast shipment and quality service is worth every penny. Have a great shave have a great day!
Your's was the first UA-cam channel that I watched when I first started wet shaving and I still learn something new every time I watch. Keep up the good work!
Your vids made me change to de razor shaving and after trying several different razors the 25c is my everyday-choice. Simple functional and perfect for me. Thank you for supporting the wetshaving community and me needing a lot more space in the bathroom then my wife.....
I LOVE the 25c! It is efficient yet still somehow not harsh on the skin. Plus it's one of the few razors that I'm able to get right under the nose really easily with. Also great for head shaving.
Thanks Geo, as usual a great shave and I really enjoy your tips and tricks. I started wet shaving about 8 months ago and really have learned a lot from you and many others on UA-cam. Keep em coming
Every razor I am interested in you have covered Geo. I have the 38c Barber Pole and adore it with Feather and Astra's. But want to up the aggression now...💪
Trying to decide between the 23 and 25 for a newbie. Which one provides a closer shave on 1st pass and is a second lathering and pass necessary? Am looking for a 1 lathering, 1 pass close shave that doesn't leave stubble
Hi Geo, how are u? can you plz try the Wilkinson Sword Classic not the Palstik one but the new metal one I have used this one and I find it very Bad, maybe I did something wrong! Can u make more Shaving videos using Muhle r89, merkur 34C and merkur 23C you have not many videos for those Razors? Thank u
Just finished a shave with my Merkur OC, shocked by how little irritation it left me with. I may just be someone that needs a super sharp close shave to avoid irritation. I plan to get a Feather straight razor next and will probably order from you since your site has the best selection around.
I literally just bought this 2 weeks ago. Not bad. I find that my blades last longer with this razor. Maybe because the blade is more “exposed” = less shaving = longer lasting blades.
I just bought the 25c also, my first ever DE razor. I will never go back to cartridge again, in fact I already purchased a Parker 99r also. Wanted to have the open door option.
I used the same razor last night for a head shave lol. For some reason the 34C has the potential to give me ingrown hairs in the back of my head but this razor doesn't!
Geo, can you do a quick updated comparison of the different model R41 razors compared to today's razors, like the Rockwell 6S, for instance. Great videos as always, Geo 💪
I own Mercur 34c, Mercur 11c, Mercur Progress - I prefer to use Mercur 34c, I have a beautifully smooth shave with it every other day. I use cosmetics exclusively with Speick.
Hi Geo- Great shave and razor review; thank you! Great job with the open comb razor. I hope you have a great rest of the weekend. Be safe and be well. Best regards, as always, Geo!
Thanks for the recommendation Vigilius- I think I have one with it, but it's an oldie. ua-cam.com/video/Fz45THdBl2U/v-deo.html Probably can use a refresher!
geofatboy Hi Geo, the very popular video that you made 9 years ago was for the AS D1. The AS D2 was first put on sale in 2014. Also the razor in your video, has two large slots for the base plate. The AS D2 has three slots. I feel like Sherlock Holmes now. The conclusion is, you may want to make a AS D2 review video.
I’ve tried the 25C with many different blades and I find it beyond mild and very difficult to dial in the angle to get a close shave. It sure is comfortable but doesn’t give me a close shave. I think the blade exposure and blade gap must be extremely minimal. It does work well under my nose though.
Geo, I remember you have a old vintage Gillette fat boy razor.... how about a review of it? Could you also discuss different pre shaves and how to use them? Thanks! Love your videos, love Shave Nation!
Thx for the video, would you recommend this as a first open comb, using a EJ 89 now but I want to try something for different if I have 3/4 days of growth thx in advance

Great description of the open comb. I've been looking for another reason and watching videos like a madman, especially your videos. I think I like this 25C, as you shave the way I do - fast; even though you tell everyone else too shave slow. 😂
At last my de safety razor for over 7 years.Very agressive razor.I will never change it because the grip for my hand is perfect. What is your opinion geo?Do you agree?
Way to go Geo, another master class shave video. I think it's a myth to pair small razors with small hands. I have smallish hands and much prefer a longer razor, I believe I'm going to retire my 34c and Gillette Tech. Well maybe not the Tech.
Geo! How does this razor compare in aggressiveness to the Rockwell 6C? Specifically, plate 2 of the Rockwell is what I use currently and I'm looking to purchase a comparable or slightly more aggressive open comb razor. Thanks in advance!
25c isn't aggressive, is efficient smooth open comp razor. Rockwell 6c plate 6 is more aggressive but less efficient! I have these two razors and always i prefer 25c!
Hey Geo and thank you for the ton of information you provide to us about wet shaving! I'm new to this type of shave and I already got 2 Merkurs: the 30C and the 25C. Definitely better results with the 25C but I'm still looking. My problem is that my neck area is very sensitive and prone to nicks especially after multiple passes so I'm looking for an aggressive combination that will give the closest shave with fewer passes. Do you have anything to suggest?
@@geofatboy something a that we can interchange our razors with because if we buy an ivory stand for example i feel like I'm committed to always having an ivory brush and razor combination so I'm thinking plain and simple , boring i know but they can look good with any combination , not unless you have some ideas, I'm sure anything you suggest will be good.
Awesome video as always. Mark from Malaysia here. Learned so much from you. I use an Edwin Jagger DE89 with Astra blades by the way. Do you ship to Malaysia??
Hi Mark. We ship worldwide 6 days a week at ShaveNation.com-But Some carriers are restricting deliveries to certain areas. Hopefully that ends quickly!
I hate the Merkur blades lol and almost every blade that comes with a razor. I get maybe 1-2 shaves out of it and they’re already dull. I stick to Astra 99% of time or Feather if I want to mix it up.
Ok, so how careful do I have to be to avoid a blood bath? I like the way it doesn't clog and I'm considering getting one. Is this not an everyday razor or better suited for heavy beard growth?
It’s actually rather mild for an open comb but it can be efficient if you have the right blade and get the angle right. It’s great for heavy growth but can also be one’s daily driver if you learn to use it correctly. I think the greatest thing about open combs is that the don’t clog easily. Some, like the Merkur open combs, don’t seem to clog at all.
If you watch some of my other videos you will definitely see many different backgrounds. Some moving or "live" and some not. This guy likes to mix it up!

I grow beards quick so the 25C is my go to shaver, even on my smooth days! I love it. Great video Geo!
