You even have Deb splitting the firewood. Good man. LOL. Now if I could train my wife to do that kind of work. Now on the serious side, the two of you have a wonderful new year.
Hey folks! Hope you had a Merry Christmas! I was home by myself, had a lot of things to do. Didn’t get it all done, but keeps me busy! Take care and stay safe! God bless!🙏✝️🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thank you Tony. Not much good ash here. Most likely will be totally gone soon. We ha e entire areas that are bare due to the EAB killing all of them. A mixed forest is so much better for recovery.
I might get me one of these with part of my first million... I guess if you make firewood for a living, it's a worthy investment. Splits it just the right size.
Thank you very much. We have a conveyor, but it was frozen during this video.....like most everything else was. LOL. Check some of our previous videos. The conveyor works very well.
It is small for heating wood, but these are for customers that want a fire in the fireplace, or burn pit. Just to have a nice fire. We can easily split bigger by adjusting the wedge, or swapping out for our 4 or 6 way wedge. Lots of options to please lots of customers.
Thanks Doug. The client requested smaller splits on this order. We can easily adjust the wedge to cut larger. It's great that we can easily cover so many different customer requests, with just one machine.
Lots of dead sap wood on these logs. Best to have it stripped off at the splitter. I look at it this way. It's an equal amount of waste, based on the amount of firewood it produced. If the firewood is piling up that fast, so does the waste. Its all comparable.
@don christie we use a conveyor at times, and plan on installing grizzly bars to help separate the splinters. This makes wood fast. Well worth the mess, like you said.
@@patrickkelly8095 waste is all the scraps that are not sellable and the slivers after cleaning it. Some can be fire starters- and not sure what you mean about sap wood

These are for bundles. It's what the customers are requesting. The wedge is hydraulically adjustable, so I can make them larger when needed. We also have a 6 way and a 4 way wedge to split to the customers liking.
Hello Jon. We used to think the same thing. Then we looked at cord for cord with our other wedges, and it was comparable. It just stacks up fast because the cord wood stacks up fast with the box wedge
You bet. All around this area have been wiped out by the emerald ash borer (EAB). We have save thousands of board feet as lumber and slabs. Some will end up as firewood if they don't meet the grade for our sawmill.
It took many years of splitting by hand, then with a small single wedge splitter. We were super happy when this showed up. From the time we saw it, it took 6 years before we were able to get it.

Beautiful Ash round.
It was nice to have these on the splitter. Made some REAL nice firewood
Whole lot of hatchet handles right there. Good stuff brother
Lots more ash in the log yard. We need to mill a bit more ash lumber
This machine is awesome. I'm just happy i will never need to use firewood here in Florida, at least for now
Right on

Howdy Rick. We had a nice Christmas. Still need to visit some family that we're sick for the holiday. Just glad that it's warming up a bit.
Hi Single Shot. We did have a nice Christmas. You take care
That would have made some beautiful bats.
Not large enough, or clear enough. We have approached bat makers, and they are very particular what they use.
Didn't know that. Thanks for the info.
Nice clean firewood Chuck nice looking ash , ash is pretty hard to get in southeast Michigan it's all dead down and rotten

Thats the prettiest fire wood its a shame to have too burn it😂😂😂

OKAY...am I the only one with a woody now? 😱
How does it do on some knarley wood like white oak, or elm.
No issues at all. The big test is sycamore. That is THE worst I have ever split. Make oak and elm look like splitting clear poplar.
The problem here is the split pieces are to small, burns up to quickly.

Those box wedge splitters sure do create a lot of waste.

Is that multi wedge adjustable? Personally, I like my split wood a little bigger than that.
Absolutely it is. Just move a lever to raise and lower it. These were being split for bundle wood, as requested. We still split bigger stuff for heating wood.
Curious how it would do on a stringy wood like yellow birch.
It will split it. Around here, the bad stuff is sycamore. Stingy beyond belief.
What’s something like that cost?

She loves her firewood. She's amazing to watch as well.
Man! figure out a way to split it in both directions
I'll leave that one up to Andrew Easton. The designer of this amazing machine.

Watch your fingers honey. Very unsafe. Where’s osha?
Always safe here. We are OSHA approved
