I love music, so I wanted to have more than 7 kids when I got married. But in Japan nowadays it's been difficult. But I think I could do it.... I envy you, Rogers family. Yeah, it's amazing only one piano makes music like orchestra with seven people. If somebody see your way to play music with only one piano, the person will say, 'Stop it, don't break the piano'. But it's wrong. Piano is strong, it won't break, it'll be happy when Rogers use the piano with such way. I'm impressed a lot. I feel proud of 7 siblings of Rogers. Make more beautiful music... Give us happy hours during days in COCID-19.

As a musician and percussionist this is pretty cool and a unique arrangement. For those who don’t realize, this technique is called playing a ‘prepared piano’. Thankfully there wasn’t much physically altered or added to the piano itself. I have seen more dramatic examples in college where metal and paper and cloth have been inserted into the string and whatnot. Yes, it’s not the best for the instrument but as long as it’s not done too often it’s okay but this video was not an extreme example. They approached it very musically and percussively. The piano IS a percussion instrument after all! Now, as piano technician and tuner, it does concern me to see any piano played on in a ‘prepared piano’ fashion. It seems to me that they would have made sure this piano was finely regulated beforehand and then regulated/tuned afterwards. After all, they’re going to get an amazing sound out of this Steinway anyway :)
