It's the same with every product in the market. Same with any cars from any manufacturer. It's just that with Tesla there were more frequent problems in the older models because their quality control had wide standards and they allowed big gaps and bigger misalignment.
This video was speaking to me !!! Notified last week that my M3 LR went from a 1 - 2 month delivery to now a March 15-31 delivery !!!🎉🎉 It just got real. Stealth Grey. First EV. Can't wait to join Tesla family. Phoenix AZ.
Congrats on getting the car early!! When I test drove the same car, the sales associate told me it would be a fast delivery. It seems A LOT of people are waiting for the refresh Model Y. I was planning in ordering the the standard range but I'm going to wait for the Model Y as well since I have 2 years on my lease. I have the Nissan ARIYA now. I'm ok with waiting because I'll use the time to research the Model Y RWD and the LR.

it's always recommend. Better do it. There are C63 AMGs out there with more alignment problems than Teslas. It's not just with Tesla altough Fremont is the worst factory of all of them. It's sad because of Model S and X are assembled worse than 3/Y from China or Berlin around the world
Picked up my M3P 08/30 it had a few issues. Had to get my trunk aligned and light strip aligned as well where the front meets the passenger door. A few paint spots but other than that everything else was great! Tesla service team is fantastic and a big S/O to them.
Very timely: delivery date is this Thursday, can't wait! Thanks for the content, your channel has been instrumental in my decision to go with the refresh 2024 M3!
So many of the lines and gaps looked a fair bit off in this video (particularly the frunk). Perhaps the frunk could just be fixed by adjusting the rubber buffers.
This is the 3rd delivery day checklist video I’ve watched and I learned so much more from this one, even after watching the two prior. Really appreciate you brother
My front doors/LED strip are misaligned too. Took it to Tesla and they said it was within their specs and did nothing. I wonder if they would say that to one of their execs...
@LeoG-p2l Did the entire check and my nephew found a gap on the passenger side rear taillight. Had to schedule a mobile service but ended up needing to bring it in to the dealer since they couldn't do it mobile. A few hours later after I drove the car, realized my glove box didn't open. Added it to the task but randomly, a few days later, it worked. So all in all, they fixed the taillight but found that the trunk latch cover was defective so they scheduled a mobile service to replace it. Something I wanted to call out: make sure your license plate screws are on TIGHT. 2 of mine flew off so my temp plates were flapping away. Dealer replaced those for free.
@LeoG-p2l Yeah, if anything, they'll say it's within spec but I did it anyways since I didn't want water to leak in. Literally, on the lot where I picked up the car in Fremont and I had to schedule the service ahaha. Best of luck to you!
Make sure to check the ambient led strip where the front of the door meets the dash. So many dont line up on one side! Terrible quality control! I noticed one side of the dash is not completely flushed down to meet the base causing the line of the led to be stepped instead of a fluid level line. This was the case my Model 3 Performance 🤬🤬🤬🤬 I was tempted to reject it but been waiting a year for this performance model and then finally my delivery so accepted the car but not gonna lie it bothers the hell out of me!
Not to kill your enthusiast here, even if I did it many times with my other Teslas 😀but ...I heard that Tesla may avoid your warranty if you tint your windows due to the water going inside the door panel. Some installers take out and disassemble the doors and Tesla doesn't like that. I personally never had any issues, but ... have you heard that? I am also looking to take my 2024 refresh in one week 👋
I bought Tesla 3 a month ago, they replaced me 2 cars… first has crazy scratches under the front bumper, they was visible from 20 feet distance. Second one has small scratches all the way around. Car that stay near my for other client had dings on hood and doors. The third car that I finally picked up also not perfect , some small scratches on clear code but it is the best that was… the most ridiculous part that manager says , pickup your car and just book an appointment for repair in app… and “the scratches is not visible so that’s ok” , that’s crazy for 50k car
I did this type of inspection on a gls 450 I almost bought and had a list a mile long of annoying issues. Luckily I did the inspection before signing. Never took delivery.
Got my 2024 RW LR on Saturday and Left Round button isn't too responsive turning to the right when trying to skip music or adjusting passenger side mirror. The Right Round button doesn't go into Autopilot too well either. Will have to make a service call.
first, i don’t think you can reject to receive the car if it is not hell big issues, secondly, all those check can actually send your car back and rectify, isn’t it? so means that you no need put that much time when receiving the car 😅
My White Honda CRV Also have difference tone of white on bumper and metal part and after my Father crash it. I have it fixed at local paint shop and it now the same tone of white lol
Just picked my car up and drove n hour to a ppf store... when I got out a bird had shit on my fresh ultra red paint an I notice a black triangular piece was peeled away from the door behind the driver wide mirror. No idea how I disnt see it.. I sent Pic and video to tesla.. but it pissed me off.
I'm looking at the frunk area, it appears Tesla haven't improved one bit on the panel misalignment. Or is it because this is the first year of a new model?
Where do most of these blemishes happen, with the transportation provider or the dealer? Also, as far as the workmanship, it appears Tesla has to continue refining their QA/QC after assembly. These issues shouldn't be persistent - operations management ...
"Check there isn't too much water in the headlights, but that's normal" "Check there isn't too much water in the tail lights or side repeaters, that's normal" It's a £50k car, having your lights full of water is NOT normal!!
"Within Spec" . . . in other words take it or leave it because our idea of quality is lower than yours. Tesla and Elmo still haven't got the quality control down. Which is a shame as the tech that drives the car is ahead of everybody else, Tesla still hasn't learned how to build the body and interior consistently . And the 4 year warranty isn't very reassuring.
Within spec? Seriously? The amount of inspection required is ridiculous. And the amount of excuses you’re making for poor manufacturing is really something… I’ve bought over 20 cars in my life and never had to do remotely this much of an inspection. Their tech may be ahead but everything else is a reminder that tesla is a software company that happens to make cars and not the other way around.
Let's be honest, anyone buying a new car other than a tesla, they would never be at the dealership looking for micro scratches and all that bs. Those type of inspection is for buying a used vehicle
Mate, this is ridiculous! That is not a cheap car and I have to do their job? Among other brands I bought a SsangYoung brand new, did not had to check a thing, all was perfect, on a care that was a 3rd of the price.
That's ridiculous that you have to do. your own inspection. At other car dealership its their job to do it. When I pick it up my car, my salesperson did all of that. All of that money that you have to pay and still have to check out the car of dings and scratches. You are always going to miss something. This doesn't seem right.
Not good enough, shouldn't have to do this. I've heard that the build quality is way better with Chinese built Teslas. We got a BYD, build quality is superb.
