Driving down the I 10 freeway in LA Today, may 7th, saw a car carrier loaded up with NEW 2025 K5s, no doubt destined for a local dealership. I of course was in my 2021 k5 GT LINE which still looks brand new, passion red, doing 80 mph, sunny southern California day. 72 degrees out, all the windows down, panoramic sunroof open, my car has been flawless. 38.000 miles on it. Love it! 😊
For whatever it's worth, that does make your car more of a unique commodity. I had intended on getting one of the Stinger's but I just could find one locally that fit my needs within the time frame that I set for myself, so I ended up going with a K5. Love it, saved some money, but the Stingers are amazing.
@@GoldRaven-oe4by no, the K5 has been out already, selling along side the Stinger, this is just a refresh. If it was a replacement for the Stinger, it'd have more power to start with. This is a fwd sedan with optional awd, Stinger is rwd based with optional awd. Not to mention the 3.3tt. The Stinger replacement will most likely be an ev with a base 400hp or more but we haven't seen exactly what they're planning, just what's been hinted at.
I assume still no ambient lighting for the us model? Funny you can get ventilated seats on the k5 but not the n line sonata but you get ambient lighting on the n line . They love to mess with us lol
Just got the 2025 k5 gt in matte gray , thing is absolutely gorgeous, I had a 2023 bmw 330i as well and this thing puts a regular Beamer and Mercedes to shame, tech, looks, and quality on the inside
Greetings from southern Ontario Canada I really enjoyed the video however I'm learning to the 2024 hyundai sonata and shift by wire on the steering column makes more sense
I love the K5s, just bought one recently. While I do think the 2025 still look great, I think the headlight/daytime lamps looked better on the 2021-2024 year models. Have the amber lamps go above the headlights rather than under them as they did previously makes them look more like the 2024 Corollas. Again, it still looks great! I just think the 2021-2024 ones looked a bit more unique. I may like these tail lights more though.
If you dont mind me asking where in the world did you get a k5 gt with a gt1 package for 40k? Im in the US, Arizona to be exact and theyre asking 47k cash 52k with financing (interest included).
Your very lucky to be able to purchase a K5 sedan, Here in Australia Kia won't give us K5's as they don't make them in right hand drive. they seem to want us to buy small sedans or SUV and Electric vehicles.
Thank you. I just comment that before I saw your comment. Haven't made my mind up about the DRLs. I don't love the new tail lights. Hate the stinger like fog lights they added. The dashboard looks like it came out of the Niro. I do like the new exhaust on the GT model though.
Thank God Kia got rid of that Kia got rid of that 1.6 turbo. I think I'm finally going to buy a K5. I don't need more than 191 hp it's naturally aspirated which makes it more reliable
Oh partner you have to get the GT K5 AWD Its just a whole step above and the true K5 experiance. We bought 2024 model and the dealership has already offered to buy it back at a nice premium, they cant get stock and everyone wants it. We kept it. If you can swing it the GT awd is it.
Dropping the 1.6 L Turbo is an engine downgrade. In fact,, the 1.6 Turbo has always been an optional engine at extra cost in thier vehicles. Putting it in the K5 as a standard engine was surprising. The non Turbo engine looses 14 lbs of Torque. Torque is the important number. This non Turbo engine will not be as quick from 0 to 60, and will not pull as nicely as the 1.6. The 1.6 Turbo has been around for many years now. It is know to be a reliable workhorse with issues being quite rare.. This is definitely just a cost savings as Turbo engines are obviously more expensive to build than non Turbos.
@@AnhedonisYes, it is. If you didn't know what engine was in the car, you'd swear it was a strong V6. The eight speed automatic is a great unit too. It's so smooth you rarely feel it shift. At 80 mph, RPMS are at just 2100. At 100 mph its only turning 3200. With this engine running these low numbers, thats very good for engine longevity, and good mpgs. It gives me 28 mpg, 29, around town, and 36 37 mpg running 80..if I stick to 70, I get 39 40 ! This car rides, and Handels very nicely too. I'm very pleased with mine. 😊
Not a fan of new tail lights. I personally think the previous one is one of the best i have seen. So it would be hard to see a design that would look better
What they don't tell you is that the gt doesn't come with AWD or a head up display if you want AWD you need to get the gt line which comes with fake exhaust vents that's a no no for me.
Where is the interior ambient lighting? And all the piano black plastic in places you’ll touch (door handles) Ugh guess I’ll have to go for the Sonata.
