I know I wasn't supposed to start building here as there is 100 hours more or less to do on my main base but against my better judgement I started building, videos upcoming with upgrading the flame and spacing everything out and the beginnings of Hobbiton!

Apologies for the jitters on a few of these early vids everyone, this has now been resolved and all future vids are jump free!

Interesting location. Too far West for my preferences. The best spot I found was just East of Hill of Scavengers and South West of Fort Kelvin. There is a Flame Sanctum. On the cliffs above this Flame Sanctum is a large flat area. You could go even higher to the peak of this small mountain and build up there but there isn't much in the way of flat ground. Just enough to place a Flame Alter. You would have to do a semi floating base up that high. But the view is excellent. The reasons I like this location is it is just to the west of the center of the map. Yet still in an area with lots of regular trees for wood to fuel the charcoal demand. There is also a salt mine just down in the valley to the north.

Hi mate, yeah I agree it is rather far West but a bit on preferences will be related to where you are in the game and I am at near 100 percent. One thing I will say though is that once you get to the mid levels you start to set up alters near resources you farm multiple times that you don't come across in general game play (like tin, sulphur etc) and you have all the towers open by that stage as well so proximity as such really has no impact in the game. The whole game really from the beginning should be about using towers intelligently and then flame altars as a secondary for travel. Also as you progress you get into the habit of having 2 or 3 flame altars in your stash everywhere you go and you just set one up if you are going offline or don't have a lot of time to play or if you think you may get killed in the zone you are about to go into. Flame sanctums really are just placed in game as a temp save point before you go into harder zones. I do have a build location which is my primary base which is at a killer spot here (which was an absolute pain in the ass to get to) but I have found once you get to these spots what is around you becomes less relevant and you just teleport in and out mostly and use it as a jump off point to a far less degree. I am currently at The Inner Sanctum waaaay up in the air but for people who are just starting or are mid game it is very sparse and does not have much in the way of versatility in terms of mid game resources and varied platforms and places to build which I wanted to showcase for a wide variety of players, this zone here is easy enough to get to and has so much to offer. ua-cam.com/video/HZepZGqRZNI/v-deo.html

in terms of resources for ongoing build stuff I tend to do the old Cinder Vault teleport 90 percent of the time, down in the valley below there are a million trees to massacre and a few regular wolves and twigs to grab along the way for arrows, if you feel like it as well you can just jump down the hill quickly and farm shroud liquid and spores from the low level guys that spawn in the same spots there at night. Salt mines are a bit of a pain in the butt I must agree, what I have found along the way is I prioritize resources, if there is stuff like salt I rarely use but is hard to come by I just go ham on it when I come across it and even set a temp flame altar and use the menu exit trick to re-spawn the resource and stock up on it. The spot you mentioned is a cracker I agree, I took a look at it myself along the way but as you mentioned there was not much in the way of flat space there. If you are looking for mega views and mega views only I would suggest hands down where I placed my main base, it was ridiculously hard to get up there (but that is half the fun isn't it, lol)

@@rp1readyplayerone Oh, I agree being close to resources isn't important in Enshrouded. I just prefer my view having green grass and trees. If I was worried about being close to resources I would base up in the Nomad Highlands area to be close to Iron, Tin, Copper, and Fossilized bone. I use those more than anything else making arrows. I just wish they had included actual coal in the game to replace charcoal in the late game.

@@Khalifriotrue that, its funny actually I had not even crafted much in the way of arrows and such until recently as I am bloody rubbish at these type of RPG games and they are my least favourite games of all, which speaks to how incredible this game is really, anyway I digress. But finally started crafting and actually doing great builds and getting into actual combat instead of relying on cheesing bosses and enemies and I am having a blast! Sooo much production has to be done to set up as well which I had been putting off, (vids upcoming on how I set up my farms and stuff) but jeez so much farming of ore hey! I would rather waste hours building! but lets be honest the whole game is fun. As soon as I picked it up I knew about an hour in that (like Red Dead 2) I was about to wave goodbye to 1000 hours lol
