It certainly can, but I feel like most the times it’s used are in positions where you are pulling incorrectly. For instance Todd pulls without his hand but uses very little bicep

what is meant by “biceps”? Biceps brachii help in elbow and shoulder flexion, and the short head assists in GH: internal rotation, adduction, and horizontal adduction, all very useful stabilizing functions for AW. Brachialis is a pure elbow flexor, which is absolutely involved. The supinating function of biceps brachii may not be utilized in your toproll, or perhaps most, but I think it would be helpful to avoid over- or under-focus on any one muscles group. Also, There is a difference between where we have our focus and what all muscles/connective tissues/tensional systems etc are activated via stretch reflex (since AW utilized static/stretch resistant capacities arguably much more than active contractile abilities)
Brachial muscles are more important for elbow flexion than biceps in arm wrestling which is why a lot of pain is felt there. Biceps are more involved in supination.
I definitely believe that biceps are extremely overrated for arm wrestling, I’ve been resistance training and arm wrestling for over 40yrs, never trained biceps much, and yet have always been dominant at arm wrestling, (non professionally)
Thats where you differ. In pros you sure need biceps training. Ppl with different techniques can target your biceps and hit on it. Like hook pullers who force you into.hook and attack your biceps.
@@S.A.F707 My biceps get trained through rowing & pull ups, which are far superior to curls for overall functional power, Toddzilla is in my camp as well, It depends on your style & strengths, as for me, I’m 6’2 255lbs, and a natural top roller, but I’m good in a hook if needed, I just have a good mind muscle connection for arm wrestling, always have, also have about a 98% lifetime win rate.
Dude! That glove and ring set up looks sick! If you could share that setup it’d be greatly appreciated. Ps, don’t worry if you’re not getting matches at the moment, you’ll get them. Also, live your life.and get your future set. You’re young and will be pulling a very long time and will back at the top once all the school is done!
Not true, bicep is the exact muscle that keeps your arm angle tight… yes it’s not the same as a curl but the movement you showed heavily involves bicep…
@@jossyinc just where the tendon attaches to the elbow and where the shoulder attaches. training the muscle traditionally or isolating it is a waste of time
if you train biceps against the wall with zero help from your back, shoulder and elbow then yeah maybe that biceps will help in the table. that's what armwrestling training needs, you need to izolate every muscle group( in the arm).
Brad gives some of the most realistic advice that really makes sense for armwrestling. 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Good points Brad. I think the bicep training becomes relevant when you're not In a winning or offensive position. If you lose your hand, etc.

Train your biceps, it's accessory work..if it contracts.. use it.. very simple..🔥💪🏽😘

Biceps are fun to train! You are still a beast tho 💪👍
Different styles of toprolls ofc like vitaly and mindaugas
Very interesting to me this makes a lot of sense
So...plenty of isometric biceps training as an incidental consequence of other lifts focused on other muscles 💪
Train smarter not harder
so what muscles do you focus on? are lats important?
This is basically the only thing that mindaugas does right
Levan would like have a talk ….
Biceps more like triceps
How big is your arm?💪
Not very, 17-18 inches
Solid 💪
